A long overlooked and unappreciated environment. 1mm a year of sequestered carbon doesn't sound a great deal, but people forget that year after year fir thousands of years, it adds up to a great deal indeed - and to have that store put in the position of returning all that carbon to the atmosphere is extremely dangerous.
I'd like to see more about how these bogs can be built from scratch and see if it is possible to do a miniature one for my garden (which has a spring running through one side of it, but it will dry up completely in prolonged hot weather. To be able to capture and keep some of that moisture fixed would be advantageous.
