  • A tile vibrator might be just the thing you need to do a better and faster tile job this is one I’ve bought and I haven’t seen many of them around

Way quicker to just slap them down. I've done several floors like that and I'm redoing them now. Large format with tight seams, hexagon and heated flooring is a new world to me and the vibration allows 100% bonding with no air pockets. This floor has been two years with no defects. I've broken tiles with the rubber hammer technique and tiles are expensive these days. lifting the tile back up before the mortar hardens is also break free with the vibrator. If I were doing this commercially I would probably just slap them down and change the company name and phone number like most of the contractors in this area do.

As long as your happy. I just did this video to let people know that this exists. Two years ago these machines were unheard of and I was able to get this on eBay without much selection. Now Amazon has about a hundred of these listed. Time marches on and sometimes better ways are discovered. The Rubi model is $500 and I think they are selling lots of them. This is a primitive model that was less than $100. It does what it's supposed to do-- 100% coverage with no air bubbles. I know many contractors just put a few dabs on and have been doing it for years. And yes 60% coverage is all that is required but I don't believe that's good enough for large format floor tiles that see any amount of traffic.
