Glad to see this video has 32 thousand more views from when i last was here, anyhow it deserves 1 million lol, I would love to see you make more videos like this!
so, to put it simply, there's a library i used that lets me play a sound file. i can look up the current time the sound file is through playing (e.g. 42047 milliseconds through the song), which i then use to figure out which beat the song is on. from there, i essentially "look up" what should be showing on that beat, and show the correct things on screen. the way I wrote it means it's not really like a traditional animation where each frame is separately made; it's more like a program that makes changes to the last frame each time. so, if i were to skip forward in the song, for example, i would actually process every beat between the last one and the next one (this means i can actually keep pace with the song without having to slow the song down or speed it up). hope my explanation makes sense and feel free to ask any other questions!

You.
Jesus, it's absolutely wonderful, I genuinely love this concept of animating all of that in a whole python command line, I really would like to know how you made all of this!
thank you very much! as for how i made it, the main method is through ANSI escape codes, which allow me to change the colour and position of printed characters. all the code used is open source on my github, there's a link in the description. I'm happy to answer any specific questions here as well
I come back every october 22nd
oh my goodness i didn't even realise
@@plaaosert the song is dear to my heart, I thank you for the code btw
thank you for your kind comment!
lovve this a lot ! !!!! frums' music is so cool and i think u did them justice with the visuals its very very pretty
it is also very nice that its open source it feels Delightful seeing it running in my own cmd window wrhhehehhee
thank you :-) yes, frums' music is great
lowkey this is very satisfying to watch
edit: I didn’t expect you to see this, but since you did I do wanna add that the overall aesthetic of the video is perfectly in line with the song, and just makes the song much better.
thank you! i tried to make it as faithful as i could to the overall theme of both my idea of the song's feel and the original music video
every now and then i always come back to this video, its so cool, i cant stop watching! keep up the work this is so good.
thank you! I'm very glad you enjoy it that much :-(

funding for this program has been possible by viewers like *YOU.*
like you. like you. like you. like you.
The magic of courier font
the font in the video is in fact Cascadia Code, i believe (or maybe Consolas) - my preferred font these days is aliased MS Gothic, though
Potentially one of my favourite RUclips videos
i'm glad you liked it :-)
Faith in humanity : restored
Reboot : begin
Loved this, hope this gets a lot of attention
thank you :-)
Damn, so this is the power of python. I may have underestimated it, I should come back.
it's as powerful as any turing-complete language. what matters is the creativity and drive of the person using it
I'm so glad I was able to stumble upon this gem, its such an amazing video
thank you :-]
holy shit this is so fuckin underrated
the talent you hold bro
you are very kind thank you
impressive, i love this, the song and the animation add up so well
thank you :-)
idk why...but ive probably watched this close to 10 times by now- this is amazing
@@HanahakiHeart i'm glad you enjoy it - it's great to see people discovering and enjoying this even years after i made it
Glad to see this video has 32 thousand more views from when i last was here, anyhow it deserves 1 million lol, I would love to see you make more videos like this!
I'm happy about it too - also yes, i would love to make more videos and i intend to when i get some free time again :-)
the precision in making this sync good is incredible. amazing work
thank you :-)
i love this. so much. thank you so much for making this. legit chills.
your kind words mean a lot to me, thank you too
damn, this is cool, didn't knew that programming can be used for animations
indeed! generative animation like this is one of my favourite forms
@@plaaosert how did you synced it with the music?
so, to put it simply, there's a library i used that lets me play a sound file. i can look up the current time the sound file is through playing (e.g.
Perfect song for analog horror edits 😉
i suppose so... i don't really know about them
This is insane. I'm glad I came across this. Hopefully I can see you making a BGA in the next BMS. 👀
heh, I'm not so sure about that, I'm very very new to BMS as a whole - got no idea how to even participate ^^
