      I felt like it was more like a direct way of saying “We appreciate *you* for contributing,” that’s how I perceived it. Think of it like they were appreciating those who’ve tuned in, and it was a more (if it’s the right word) intimate way. I dunno, I’m weird.

    I think sometimes about how technology rots, as new technology comes along to replace it, and gradually forgets about what came before it.

      oh, that's a thing called ansi escape codes. using the code "\033[y;xH", you can set the position of the cursor in the command line to line y and column x - which means i can overwrite specific blocks of text on screen as if they were pixels. my rendering engine uses this in a very optimised way to smoothly render each frame

      I heavily imply a a catastrophe here but yeah that is an interesting idea for an alternative story. for this, it is essentially an autonomous terminal of some kind trying to connect to the service after some sort of calamity. the music itself is heavily open-ended so it's not surprising multiple interpretations exist

      @@plaaosert how did you synced it with the music?

    • @plaaosert
      @plaaosert  15 дней назад

      so, to put it simply, there's a library i used that lets me play a sound file. i can look up the current time the sound file is through playing (e.g. 42047 milliseconds through the song), which i then use to figure out which beat the song is on. from there, i essentially "look up" what should be showing on that beat, and show the correct things on screen. the way I wrote it means it's not really like a traditional animation where each frame is separately made; it's more like a program that makes changes to the last frame each time. so, if i were to skip forward in the song, for example, i would actually process every beat between the last one and the next one (this means i can actually keep pace with the song without having to slow the song down or speed it up). hope my explanation makes sense and feel free to ask any other questions!
