  • My 2024 Beta 300 Race Edition (dual plugs!) vs my 2023 Husqvarna TX300 Heritage Edition back to back on a combination GP track/Woods loop see what stands out between the bikes. Back to back rides are a great way to get a feel for the different characteristics of each bike. Thought on each bike....
2023 Husqvarna TX300 Heritage Edition: Lap Time 2:49.5
Big power that is very responsive controllable with strong linear partial throttle torque. Chassis is a great mix of cornering and stability. Stock suspension with AER forks is very adjustable for a wide range of rider weights and riding conditions. I still prefer the feel of spring forks so I installed a set of WP Cone Valve spring forks and a Pro Components rear shock (set up by Brad at Rideworx) on this bike. The Heritage Edition styling has a strong 80's vibe!
2023 Beta 300 Race Edition: Lap Time 2:50.0
Super smooth power with a full flywheel feel that is easy to modulate. The new dual spark plug head helps give the engine a slightly sharper low to mid throttle response and might run a little cleaner too. The KYB suspension feels plush especially on the little chop. The updated Beta chassis (10mm wider frame back bone) has a quick front end steering feel. Nissan brakes with Galfer rotors are strong with a Brembo like aggressive initial bite feel. Beta Race Edition models look so good!
A 0.5 second lap time difference between these very different 300 2-strokes. The Husky wins by laptime on this back to back but a lap time difference under 1 sec is basically a tie! High tech fuel injection vs the simple carburetor! These 300's are so much fun to ride. More back to back rides soon!

From a laptime perspective the Beta 300RE is usually about 2~3 seconds faster on a 3 minute woods loop. When I mix in higher speed GP style track the TX300 has the edge. Beta has a tick quicker turning that is helpful in the woods. Beta also is super smooth power (less peak power too) but also more engine vibration (mostly felt at the footpegs). TX300 has almost no vibration, 55hp at the rear wheel, and a great balance of cornering and stability. The TX300 AER fork is polarizing and many riders (like me) still prefer a spring fork (and the 24 TX300 now comes with a spring fork).
Both are fun bikes - pick what characteristics are most important to you!

Another great video. Planning on getting a 2025 Husky TX300 this fall. Hope they come with the white frame like the 2024.5 450 has now. Have you heard anything about the new 2025 2 strokes ?

I believe 2025 Husky moto bike details will be announced next week and first 25 models showing up at dealers in June. Would be cool if they got the white frame!

And, of course - they're both so beautiful bikes they make my eyes wet ... the Husky with that "vintage" graphics and the black fork and special shock ... man, I'd put it in a glass box filled with nitrogen in my bed room like a museum piece !

I’ve ridden both. Wouldn’t own the Beta and if you wanted to stay with a carburetor get yourself a used 19 KTM/Husky 300 xc/tx

I've owned (2) 300 TBI bikes (23 KTM 300XC and 23 Husky TX300) and both have been trouble free though only about 20 hours on each so far. Pretty easy to find TBI owners with issues on TBI Owners Group on FB or KTM Talk/Thumper Talk 2-stroke sections. KTM/Husky have updated the engine maps a few times also.

Hello Sir ! please can I ask, how tall are you ? I'm asking because I'm tall, 6.3 bare foot , and really would like to hear how the Beta feels , really want to get one ! ... and there's no way I can get a test ride where I live :-(

I am 6' 2" tall and 190 lbs. The Beta has footpegs that are down and back and even with the low rise bars feels better than the TX300 while standing (little more room). Egos are a very subjective and personal thing so what works for me might not feel good to you. I really like the feeling of the Beta standing. There are (3) bar mount positions on the top triple clamp of the Beta so lots of options to move the bars.

Dont think you should be comparing suspension. The track you rode is so flat and smooth. Just like a road. Every suspension would feel plush and nice.

Gopro hides alot of things, you can tell a difference in suspension

GoPro really smooths things out. Wish you could experience the bumps and edges at 50mph on the old school GP track portion...does not feel flat and smooth!
