Lozito did what the police WOULDN'T do. Those cops were in the motorman's cab with their flak vests and their 9mm Glocks and did NOTHING until Lozito disarmed the drug addled lunatic. They also made Lozito wait more than 20 minutes for an ambulance because they thought that maybe there might be another attacker on the train although they knew that Melman was a lone assailant. The ER doctor told Lozito that a few minutes more, he would have bled to death. Lozito later sued NYPD for their inaction but lost the case against the NYPD because the judge ruled that NYPD has NO duty to "serve and protect" the public.

So he banged on a locked door, and the officers had no way of knowing that it wasn't just some regulate loon.
They were busy looking for the perpetrator in the tunnel, which was why the train was moving so slowly.
It wasn't until they heard the commotion, or if there was CCTV in the Cabin, they understood they had to react. So from there, they still had to unlock the door, get out into the car, and move towards the men fighting, and then get an idea of who's the attacker and who's the victim, and then act accordingly.
And even if they might have had a suspicion about it being their spree killer in action, they couldn't know until they detained him....

Beast Mode FIAZCO Nope I am not a doctor, I am a qualified nurse in the UK that works in a neuro surgical operating room . That makes me very critical of wound closures. Staples don’t leave a very pretty scar. So the aim is to put the staples in as uniformly as possible. Closer together is better, and making sure both sides of the wound are in the staple equally so the stress on the skin is equal. Maybe they did the guys head wound in a rush. That would explain the end result. If someone has a full head of hair, then the aesthetics of the closure is irrelevant. Scars on the scalp can generally be hidden.

You're right, Carolyn.. he deserves all the punishment. but we need to also understand this: some girls gave him STD so he became a mad man-killer. His a criminal but so is the people who pass STD's; these sluts-men and slut-girls are everywhere..and I'm not talking about just prostitutes but all the girls and men who have sex in high school, and who dancing to Hip Hop, that living ungodly immoral life and parties.. like your neighbors.. they do this to others every day. STD is in top five most dangerous virus diseases today. But nobody cares... people only blame those that got hurt and over react to world's situations.. but they don't blame those that are the cause too. Do u understand what I'm saying?? So if we want to go bottom of this: we need to stop live as immoral humans.. otherwise criminals will always be out there. . May Jesus bless you and keep you safe.

    Lozito v. New York City
In the spring of 2012, Joseph Lozito, who was brutally stabbed and "grievously wounded, deeply slashed around the head and neck", sued police for negligence in failing to render assistance to him as he was being attacked by Gelman.[21][22][23] Lozito told reporters that he decided to file the lawsuit after allegedly learning from "a grand-jury member" that NYPD officer Terrance Howell testified that he hid from Gelman before and while Lozito was being attacked because Howell thought Gelman had a gun.[24][25] In response to the suit, attorneys for the City of New York argued that police had no duty to protect Lozito or any other person from Gelman.[24]
On July 25, 2013, Judge Margaret Chan dismissed Lozito's suit, stating that while Lozito's account of the attack rang true and appeared "highly credible", Chan agreed that police had "no special duty" to protect Lozito.[21][22][26]
Lozito later went on to give an account of the aftermath in an article published by Cracked.com in October 2013,[27] and again in October 2017 when he narrated a video, offering his perspective of the event and as a warning to others involved in similar situations.

Criminology is all about opinions and profiling etc, documentaries tend to be set out for those who enjoy true crime and the story behind the killers, it's not about excusing them, it's about trying to figure out what made them do what they did... So this guy for example you'll have people who say he was just a cold-blooded killer, others will say he was ill and believe it or not you'll get people who say he's the victim and will sympathise with him, what's crazy is that they were all told the same story about his life and yet we always come to different conclusions and opinions on what makes an individual tick, I find it all really interesting.
(As long as the law treats perpetrators the same, in the sense of not letting one of because he's got mental illness, while the other one who doesn't sits and rots, it doesn't really matter, because at the end of the day, you can be as sick as hell and had the worst childhood, a crime is a crime and you have to serve the time)

It's kinda annoying that they make a documentary on this. He only kills people he knew. This is not even close to as worse as other cases. The confused teen just wanted attention and you people gave it to him. Just lock him up and give him death penalty.

Unreal! Cops were probably watching the whole fight from the motorman compartment. Then they step in and say: “Hey we got it!”

My son, a tall healthy young man, a future medical Dr, said when studying anadamy, that how unbelievably hard to cut through human skin, with surgical knives! Why those killers can just cut and kill people as if it were easy? I don't understand.

Listening to Joe's account of his fight was hard to listen to, hearing him make mistake after mistake. He's very lucky he lived. Focusing on the weapon is always the wrong plan.

      What would you recommend?

    • @nicholasschoonbeck6866
      @nicholasschoonbeck6866 3 года назад +2

@@MrTheedarkhorse In general, you stay aware of the weapon but focus on the attacker. Joe's problem was he was thinking to disarm the guy so he tried to catch or grab the wrist, which got him cut multiple times & his first attack was to sort of head rush the guy, which is why he got stabbed & cut on the back of his neck. From a seated position, he said he was in, he should have just raised a leg & kicked the attacker away, which could lead to a better position, but even if not, he should avoid the blade & focus on the other man's weak points. Human bodies, no matter how big or strong they are, all have the same vulnerabilities so you target those. If I were in that situation, I would have tried to kick the attacker back, they take off my jacket & use it to try to wrap the man's knife & hand into the bundle of cloth & then just go to town on his face until he was no longer a threat.
