This was an incredibly important, impactful conversation. "everyone's fighting a battle you know nothing about." those words really hit me hard. I won't make this about me, but thank you so much for having this conversation and putting it out there
on the other hand, if you approach people with that quote in your mind, the world will crush you sooner or later. the one thing that I have learned way too late is that people like to bite hand that feeds and then piss on leftovers.
I needed this for multiple reasons. I love your channel and I’m a big fan of Adam and LS. I ended a long term relationship in Feb, I’m a father working 10-10pm to make ends meet. Today is one of the good days but I’ve really been struggling lately. Not be cliche; but this interview made me feel like I’m not alone. Pain Remains I reminded me of my mothers death and my failed relationship at the same time, so the album really hit home for me. Thank you for this Finn and if you see this Adam, Thank you as well. We talk on IG time to time and Adam def is as real, cool and genuine as he comes off.
We all have your back my friend! You are doing what you can to get through this. It sounds like a brutal situation but there is light at the end of the tunnel and you are setting a great example for your children!
Honestly, this is one of the best interviews on this channel. So much good stuff from both Finn and Addam. They both seem like the types of guys that develop deep and meaningful friendships
This is probably my favorite podcast so far. It’s important to see artists be upfront about how they feel as well as Finn himself. Gotta make this shit normal, everyone’s gotta feel how they feel.
This interview was so touching :( He seems like such a nice person. I was never really a deathcore fan, I'm more about metalcore and punk rock. But Lorna Shore has me totally in love
Fuuuuck this hurts to watch. Depression sucks so much and it's so weird to see someone else explain exactly how it feels how regardless what positive things are happening around your head is just dragging you down. I'm medicated now and it's helped a lot, I'm so fucking grateful Adam is pushing through, was incredible to see them live with parkway in London. All the best to him Pain Remains is hands down my album of the year
Adam is such an interesting artist, I like the vulnerability and how it transpires in his art but I also like the other nihilistic and sarcastic part of his personality. All in all a great interview, Finn!
Used to hang out with the guy through a mutual friend. I was in a crappy pop punk band and remember talking about him being like “yeah I’m trying out for this band Lorna shore”. Guys a good dude from what I can tell from back in the day
If an artist/musician is arrogant, I will lose all interest in their music. I truly appreciate that the LS guys have genuinely good attitudes. No one’s perfect, but they are authentic and down to earth.
I love how Adam sounded genuinely happy/surprised to hear you were going to catch Lorna when they roll through Seattle. Seems really appreciative of fans' support. Great interview.
Adam (and you in the interview) speaking on mental health is absolutely refreshing and impactful. It helps break the stupid stigma that mental health = weakness or craziness. I appreciate the vulnerability for sure. Adam is so genuine and endearing and I always enjoy your content, Finn. Thank you for this interview. One of your best, in my opinion.
I love that man. On top of his ability to write unbelievable music, play insane riffs and solos, and bring us content that makes us tear up...he knows that he's still a human and allows himself to be vulnerable to help others. The world needs more like him. Adam is BY FAR my favorite guitarist on Earth and anyone that knows him on a personal level...well, they just don't realize how lucky they are.
This was more than I bargained for and everything I needed. Thanks for making this happen Finn. All I can say is personally they are everything I want from music. It feels like home every time I play their albums.
This is the best and most honest interview about the topic of depression I have ever watched. Thanks to both of you for that, it opened my eyes about a lot of issues I am going through myself. And on another note - I was at Summer Breeze (German Festival) in August - it was the biggest crowd Lorna Shore was playing so far (and the whole stream is watchable on youtube!). It was amazing. And the Pain Remains Trilogy is one of the most beautiful and powerful experiences I ever had with music. And this album is an absolute masterpiece. They just single-handedly invented the Symphonic/Melodic/Cinematic Deathcore genre!
My favorite guitarist in the music world currently. Not only because he’s an amazing musician but he’s so sincere and genuine. We need more openness on these topics in the music world and more importantly in the world. I can relate so heavily to so many things in this conversation and it’s good to hear that someone at his level in his career and just as a person, openly talks about these things. Much love Adam
I never write RUclips comments. Thank you so much Finn and Adam. This conversation is exactly what I needed to listen to with where I’m at currently in my life. Finn keep making the videos and Adam keep creating great music. Much love to you guys ❤
Before this interview, I was absolutely embarrassed for being so depressed over an ended relationship in my life. Not even just the relationship ending, but losing my brother at the age of 21. Just that feeling of never being happy despite how good things would go for me in life. Hearing Adam talk about this makes me feel less embarrassed for being so upset 24/7 and gives me hope that things will get better. I feel like I’m just rambling on, but I hope he knows how helpful and inspiring this interview was to me. I needed the Pain Remains so Thank you.
Trust me when i say there are more people with depression out there than you think.. the problem is that nobody talks about it. One of my closest friends just went to a psychiatric hospital.. i knew she didn't feel good but I didn't know how bad it was even though im so close to her.. so yea.. pretty sad but true
The album dropped literally the day after my gf at the time left me, and obviously with that dropped part 3 of the trilogy. I remember laying there on my sofa alone listening to the album, fighting the temptation to do something bad to myself… But I feel like I was subconsciously helped so much by the trilogy I don’t cry easily and it brought tears out that really needed to escape. I’ll forever be grateful to Lorna for these songs and the help they gave me, and they’ll forever be the most special songs to me
Love Adam. Such a genuine soul. I love listening to his stories, and it also resonates in the music for me. Thanks so much for this interview and the awesome content! 🖤
Depression is so difficult but so important to talk about. The more we talk about it, the more we learn. There doesn't always have to be a reason. It isn't rational-sometimes it just happens. I've had similar in the past and I'm glad you dudes are doing better as well. another great vid
I watched this as I was getting ready for work this morning. It’s what I needed to hear. I struggle with depression too. It’s like my life isn’t bad, but sometimes my brain will just say some wild shit out of no where and It doesn’t make sense. Dancing through the flames came out the week my Pa was in the hospital, he was diagnosed with acute leukemia. He passed the day before my birthday. That song got me through understanding his suffering. It is now helping me with the grief. This band doesn’t realize how impactful and helpful their music has been in my life. I’m so thankful for them. I can’t wait to see them next week in Nashville. I also love how excited Adam was when Fin said he was coming out to their show. ❤
Loving this. Bles you Adam and thank you for sharing this with everyone. The Pain Remains is an incredible record and the trilogy is ridiculously moving. Safe journeys.
Folks with depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns, do not fear medication. I cannot stress how much it can help level you out a bit so you can finally focus and get a grasp on your life again, enabling you to actually work on yourself.
I've never found anything that works besides Xanax for my anxiety but it makes depression worse and I'm always tired lol herion is my go to fixes all my problems insomnia no more anxiety nope depression I'm in constant euphoria kinda hard to be depressed they should start giving that shit out
I tried about 5 different medications...made me have very vivid nightmares and made me suicidal...i always said "you can never be happy if you're never sad...."but lately the happiness has been in short supply
Thank you both. This was the first time I felt, that there are people out there, who can understand the dillema about depression. You have a good life, a great husband who cares deeply for you and tries to help, but it doesn't work. It makes you feel guity and you fall deeper. The more he tries the more you spiral down. Thank god, finaly he always found something that helped. This year he got me into reaction videos and made me watch "Operation Throat Camera". So I found something new. Lorna Shore was a total new experience. It gave me the energie to make an appointment with my psychiatrist and now I'm in a much better headspace. And by the way, I love Tool 🥰
adam is incredibly good at putting thoughts into words. so many things he says, makes sense, but its stuff that i would never think about, but when he says it, its very clear
This interview made me respect him and the music he gives us so much more. Fuck anyone who guilts or shames people for being depressed while also their life is considered "successful". You cant control it ,and it doesn't have anything to do with how successful you are. Mental illness kills and metal has been a very negative and unwelcoming place for this discussion. These guys are making history and such an impact with their music in so many ways. I love their art and wish the absolute most success and happiness to all of them!!
Bro I see ppl say shit all the time to discredit and minimize Lorna Shore on social media. I would say that its mainly gatekeepers in the metal community that are saying anything negative about the band. But whether its a metal elitist or some other type of gatekeeping weirdo. It doesn’t matter who it is, whoever says anything to minimize or diminish Lorna Shore is wrong and they are literally one of the greatest bands of our age. ❤❤❤ much love and success to each member of Lorna Shore. And I hope that you find the help you need to stay well mentally. I too suffer from depression, so I know exactly what you are expressing. Thank you Adam for being genuine enough and brave enough to bare your soul to us in this way. Please know that we all stand at your back in full support and admiration for you. Not just for being an amazing guitar player in one of the greatest bands in metal and deathcore history, but for being such a kind, genuine, and caring human. A person that brings light and goodness to the lives of countless others. I’m not sure about the other fans, but as for me, I cannot express to you the amount of gratitude I have for the music of Lorna Shore and the words you have spoken in this video. Beautiful and so raw. Thank you thank you and thank you.
I really wasn't expecting Adam to be such a wonderful and eloquent person. Not that I was expecting anything bad, but he's such a lovely guy and a pleasure to listen to. I know what it's like to be deeply depressed, I hope life treats him better.
"We all fight wars that can't be seen" Sylosis - Invidia. Had to quote that here since that song has had big impact on me pushing myself through hardship. I feel you Adam, it is so difficult to explain to others the realm you enter sometimes. Keep pushing!
Such a deeply emotionally real interview, love you Adam and thank you for your transparency. We’ve been through it, your music is one of the few things that gives me strength.
Pain remains is a true piece of art completely. Adam we don't know each other, but I relate to you and your battle with depression. Just know you're not alone my brother, and I'd do anything to help ya bro. Happiness isn't a given unfortunately. It takes a lot of work to proudly wear/sport a smile. You're a truly inspiring individual. You got this my brotha!!!!!
Such an amazing interview! I want to show it to my fellow band mates so that we can all look back on it and just kinda talk about the state of the band and our goals. I also like how straight and to the point it was. Like a few minutes in and y’all were already in a very deep, real conversation. It was pretty moving honestly. Keep at it man!
LS from what i am aware may be one of, if not the only band to make heavy music so heavy, emotional, poetic and meaningful. Basically human experiences and the importance of connection
I'm most excited to hear Adam comment on the validity of authenticity and not trying to second guess what's gnna earn more fans. Lorna Shore has been on the periphery of my 'radar' for years and only with the vocalist reshuffling, and the Immortal album did they really command my full attention. After recognising their talent, and confirming that they can offer at least one album to match my tastes I decided to head back and go through their back catalogue. I now have tracks off of most of their albums/ep's in my regular playlist and am grateful for them evolving consistently because it makes their entire discography valid. When fan's finally find a song they fuck with you want there to be depth for them to go back and appreciate, if they only got into one song that you artificially engineered to garner attention then you're not gonna grow a loyal fanbase that will come see you live. Bring Me are such a great example of sticking to your creative 'guns' in spite of the backlash from fans (initially) and continuing to make music you believe in. As Adam also noticed and commented on, we can tell when stuff's fake and we don't tend to respond well to it - make music you believe in and the fans that dig it will evangelise for you because they connect to it. I'm so glad LS have gathered the strength of following they finally have, and can see Wills charisma building this further as long as they're all committed to continuing to make great songs. Touring internationally with bands like PWD and BMTH are enormous landmarks in LS's story so far, so I hope the boys revelled in those experiences and felt the love, if they have enough sense to try to use those tours a learning experiences to keep pushing themselves further then I'm EVEN more excited for what else they have for us. There's already a lot of thanks in this comment thread, I want to add mine too. I'm not a die hard Finn stan, and this is the first interview I've seen with Adam so I think it's important I express my gratitude when such a great interview leaves me so satisfied. Good luck LS, and thank you Adam for sticking through the turmoil - your hard work and fortitude are certainly appreciated =]
I just went through a mental breakdown 6 months ago and im still recovering from it. Over the last ten years everything just snowballed together and hit me like a ton of bricks. I know how you feel and felt at that time. I forced myself to make try and make a complete 180 and i feel a lot better now. Not that ive gotten over it, but that im learning to accept it and grow from it. Even though its a lifelong and sometimes daily struggle, I hope everyone going through this a healthy recovery! Much love
I subscribed after this. Both of you said the exact words that have been circling my mind for a long time. I laughed, I cried. And, I felt validated. Thank u both so much. Adam is, in my opinion, the best guitarist alive today. He's amazing. Thanks again!! ❤❤❤❤
The comparative suffering & guilt. Oh man, I feel this so much. Story of my life... Thank you for your brutal honesty. We are all allowed our own feelings & experiences, regardless of what anyone else has experienced. It's a daily process of learning to validate my own feelings, just like I do for others. I definitely agree that criticism means you're doing something right. The only way to avoid criticism is do absolutely nothing & die. Even then, you'd probably be criticized! It's just human nature, for better or worse. But I do wish people would just learn to agree to disagree. Adam is clearly extremely introspective & intelligent. Excellent interview!
3:32 I'm 34. My life changed completely at 29 and again at 32 and again at 33. Meaning places, relationships and jobs. It's never too late and your life can change completely tomorrow.
Thank you so much for this interview, I could have listened to another 3 hours. The album was worth the wait, I loved every second. So cool to see interview with Adam and Austin as well as Will. I would also love to hear more from Andrew and Michael. Great music and an even greater group of guys.
Adam.. thank you from the bottom of my heart for reviving the guitar solo!!! So refreshing.... makes me miss my man Dine. What you guys are doing is so awesome and so GREAT...I'd move heaven and earth to be at you guys ROCK N ROLL hall of fame induction or Hollywood Star induction. It's coming!!! No doubt!
Very good interview, thanks Adam and Finn! I really wish Lorna had clean vocals as well, but I'm sure Adam's points are very good ones. So I just hope you keep the door open, experiment with it if you feel like, and IF you come up with something you like, please don't be shy about putting it out there. Thanks for the awesome music! I really hope I get to see your show at Tuska in Finland next summer, and I really wouldn't mind seeing you in Finland sooner.
Awesome interview. I always like watching these videos that shows what people go through to really “make it” I don’t play music in a band anymore haven’t for over a decade but I think it is inspirational in any business were you truly have to grind to make it. Working on opening my second restaurant currently. It’s all the accolades and everyone being proud but it is never enough eternally. It’s very relatable seeing someone else with moderate success feel the same way.
I really appreciate this vulnerable and honest conversation. Especially coming from someone in the public eye, and someone whose image is connected with such a hardcore scene. It's really a gamechanger and I can see in the comments that a lot of people felt seen and understood just by watching this video. Really beautiful
Thanks so much to both of you for this interview. Lorna Shore keeps outdoing themselves, bummed out that I missed my chance to buy a ticket to their tour this year, but so excited for the band that they were able to sell out my city's venue within an hour. Gotta be quicker on the draw next time!
Great conversation and many important points made. I’ll be going to the MA date for their upcoming tour. Fin, you should do a video after you attend the Seattle date. Love to hear about your experience. I’ll see bands of any age but there is something special about seeing a band in their moment in time.
What wise words. I definitely get what Adam said, it really hit close to home. Whoever goes through this right now, just know - it gets better. ILY guys, ILY Lorna Shore
2 cool adults having a serious discussion. Thanks for being you guys. Thanks for a lot of things. & Lorna, such a fantastic band. Thank you guys for kickin ass!!! 🤍🤘👍
This is a very refreshing interview. I get recommendations all the time for interviews with members of a band that you would expect. I have watched a hundred different interviews with Will Ramos and I love them all but they left me wondering what the other members of the band are about. I'd love to see more of this type of style. Like if every interview on RUclips is interviewing the vocalist or guitarist, do one for the drummer, bass player... hell do the pianist!
For me, it becomes this weird social thing where I don't want my burdens to become someone else's burden, so I try and laugh it off or something to help diminish what it is I'm feeling. Then at the same time I get angry for feeling the way I do and it becomes this vicious cycle of self depricating thoughts and feeling worthless. Espcially when I know other people I talk to might be going through worse or having their own struggles so I feel like who am I to complain, or feel like I don't want to shift the focus to me when I know they are the ones that need me to be strong for them in the moment. Then a lot of times I feel like I don't have time to get help because then it takes the place of other responsibilities I have and then I get more upset because I feel like I am just failing everyone and everything because I can't seem to get my own shit together. Then I get overwhelmed and shut down and waste time on RUclips shorts, Facebook, T.V., etc and feel even shitier about myself for wasting that time I could have used to do something I actually needed to do or actually scheduled something to help myself... Depression sucks
Adam, you highly deserve famé and rate, not because you play in the best deathcore band or because you're the greatest guitarist of the World (although you sure are!,) or because magazines speak of you... You deserve love and succès because what you express through your music is absolutely authentic and Real, it's YOU. And it touches people's hearts. Thanks for all and keep on doing this,it's such a beautiful way to express yourself. Thanks for the interview, it was great! Peace ❤️
14 minutes in and just wanted to say that I follow Adam and the band closely as they have become the ultimate ear worm I've had the honor to experience so far in my life. As someone that struggles very much so with disassociation, I wanted to say that I hear you brother and I hope you are being mindful in grounding yourself when you see the opportunity. I hope that these times for you guys are filled with life long memories that can be retold over and over for years to come!
I actually found a lot of what Adam mentioned here in the album! For instance, when he spoke about how people have different highs and lows, and thus it's impossible for someone to judge or compare someone elses grief or life experience. That's how I interpret the "black and white" references in the lyrics to Soulless Existence after hearing this interview, anyway. Killer, killer work. I'm super excited for the album! 👏
Great video, huge respect Adam hit right in my heart! ive been trying to write a comment about the band hype and underground stuff for like 1h i give up.
My first thought when I heard the first two parts was “wow, this is like the River Runs Red of deathcore. This is going to help a lot of kids who are struggling.” The raw emotion of the song and imagery was just so moving. A lot of friends I go to shows with are very into deathcore, and I never really connected with it with few exceptions. This hits different in a good way.
I've been a lorna shore fan since Tom barber was on vocals and after all these years even the immortal album, lorna shore is the most underrated and in my opinion most un recognized band and now that I saw this interview Adam is a very humble person. Keep your head up Adam and can't wait for more lorna shore
Totally understand what Adam was going through, being a Manic Depressive does not always make sense, things can look fantastic from the outside but in your head is just a confused mess of negative thoughts, I went through a lesser (controlled by strong medication but just felt totally wrong) breakdown 18 months ago, I had a total breakdown when I was 39 which took 2 years to come back from and has meant I need medication to the day I die. I wish Adam nothing but the best for the future and hope he gets the support he needs. I am always here for anybody who needs an ear, no judgements or criticism, just a fellow who has been through it for most of his life. In the UK the Crisis Helpline call 988, they can really help, they got me through some bad times.
man thanks for this video. always great to see that you are not alone in the fight against yourself and how great inspiring people deal with it and overcome it as much as it is possible. adam is such a great guy
Yeah Cyhra did it better.

Adam DeMicco has to be the most refreshing musician out there. Just as a person. Fucking incredible player as well! That solo on TPR 3 🔥
This interview was so touching :( He seems like such a nice person.
I was never really a deathcore fan, I'm more about metalcore and punk rock.
But Lorna Shore has me totally in love
Dude. Beautiful interview. You are such a positive light in the scene Finn. Appreciate the vulnerability in this one.

Stay strong, you are not alone.

The Pain Remains trilogy is one of the greatest things I have ever heard in metal. Period.
Thank you for creating this masterpiece.

these guys deserve a Grammy
ohh this is my favourite interview with Adam 🖤 I could watch it again and again. He touched my heart 🥺 I want to hug him.
Just wanted to stop and say as a 31 year old just starting to figure life out, i really appreciate what ya said at the beginning. I needed that😂
Fuuuuuuck man Adam I hope you're still managing to get by. This was so relatable. Thanks for showing vulnerability.
Best interview, love you Adam!!!❤️
Man Finn, what a fantastic interview. I've been loving Pain Remains and this interview has only made me appreciate it more.
Incredible interview, Adam is the MAN.
What a wonderful and humble guy Adam is. Bless you sir....
I didn't realize I needed to hear this until I started hearing this. Been following you for a while and this was, just, impactful. Keep killing it.
LS from what i am aware may be one of, if not the only band to make heavy music so heavy, emotional, poetic and meaningful.
Basically human experiences and the importance of connection
You definitely aren’t familiar with metal or particularly any rock music to say that then.
Wow Adam had really great insight and Finn has always been that way I think this is such a great conversation+ interview
Thank you for this video. I needed this🤘🏽 “tough love should not substitute for compassion”
This is one the best episodes for real.
Man Will's cover of Sleep Token is so good. Better than the original IMO
What a great conversation! Thank you Adam and Finn!
This guy is the heart of Lorna Shore. The band stands and falls with Adam
Great interview. Refreshing is an understatement. ❤️🖤
Incredible and honest. This guy feels real and real humble too. Great interview. @Adam di Micco props for who you are. @finn good job on interview
Thanks for sharing Adam 💚
This is a very refreshing interview. I get recommendations all the time for interviews with members of a band that you would expect. I have watched a hundred different interviews with Will Ramos and I love them all but they left me wondering what the other members of the band are about. I'd love to see more of this type of style. Like if every interview on RUclips is interviewing the vocalist or guitarist, do one for the drummer, bass player... hell do the pianist!
I've been meaning to watch this sooner but I'm glad that I'm watching it now. I really needed this.
Adam is so precious to me.
Great interview Finn my favorite one you've done so far 👍 👏 keep it up 🤘
For me, it becomes this weird social thing where I don't want my burdens to become someone else's burden, so I try and laugh it off or something to help diminish what it is I'm feeling.
Ignore anyone putting you or the art down, you guys are awesome and are going awesome directions. Only up from here!
What a great conversation. Thank you Adam for opening up and thanks Finn for your work.
New to the channel & such a meaningful conversation Finn. Adam is so sincere & genuine but very pragmatic & I really relate to that
Thank you!
Happy asf Adam gotta interview.
As someone going thru what for me is immeasurable pain/depression/anxiety right now, thanks to both of you for this convo.
I hope you feel better soon!
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA I appreciate you
Adam, you highly deserve famé and rate, not because you play in the best deathcore band or because you're the greatest guitarist of the World (although you sure are!,) or because magazines speak of you...
Wonderful Interview guys!
Great interview! Thanks
Go damn this interview went above and beyond.
I wish Chester couldve seen this. Misss him soo much. Thanks for putting this out there.
I appreciate
Yall talkin/posting
✌️🤘
Seeing Adam almost cry made me almost cry, fuuuuuuck, i wish him and LS the best and lots of success
man thanks for this video. always great to see that you are not alone in the fight against yourself and how great inspiring people deal with it and overcome it as much as it is possible.
adam is such a great guy
what a sweet interview, love this :)
What great guy I hope his band has all successful. you are amazing at interviews Finn . great episode
Great interview
Thank you so much for this interview. It made me realize some things about myself and what I have to do
Great interview, great guys! You earned another sub here.
