Plot twist: this is actually a mad lad episode on Latif Yahia but he had to go into how much of a nightmare that Uday was to make us understand how much he had to go through
Uday was an ass but believing everything his involuntary bodydouble says about him seems more than just a little naive. It doesnt take much for someone who does a few bad things, for everyone to uncritically believe whatever bad things anyone attributes to them. Like, if someone said that a certain austrian painter kicked his dog, nobody would demand proof. Having been on the receiving end of having a bad reputation and having others lie to make it even worse, i m gonna assume the stories about uday are a little exaggerated.
"The Devil's Double" was one of very few cases where a movie based upon actual events was toned down a great deal because the truth was just too horrible.
Same with Schindlers list. The things that Amon Goeth did were so fucked up they actually had to tone it down in the film to make it believable to a cinema audience.

I don't believe him since I've heard that Latif is supporting the Ba'ath regime now, That brave Latif he describes does not match the personality he has now. He now supports a regime that buried thousands of children, old and young alive, led Iraq to wage wars with neighbouring countries, bombed its people with poison gas and.........., Anyone with a soul and conscience would never say that. I am Iraqi my English is not good but I hope you can get my point.
They exist, but they're subjective. Tell me, what country do you live in? Guaranteed someone believes you to be a vile monster just because of where you live. You, no matter how nice you are, are evil to them. Does that make you evil? How about the Alqueda? They believed America to be a great sinful empire that needed to be attacked and destroyed. They believed that every civillian killed during 911 was an act of righteousness against a great devil. Were those innocents evil? Was Alqueda good? Nobody says good and evil doesn't exist simply because they are abstract concepts. Good and evil are determined by the individual. The philosophy is meant to warn people against being overly self righteous. Your good is not necessarily another's. The type of thinking that your world view is absolute and that your good or your evil is the only truth is what gave power to groups like Alqueda, the Nazis, the Japanese Empire, even the Mad Lad in today's video. Not being able to understand or refusing to understand is the leading cause of death and destruction in all of human history.
If you sustain the belief that anything is possible, therefore any acts are not inherently good or evil then yes they are subjective. However, we live in an objective reality. Murder may not always be evil, but rape certainly is, and there is no situation in which it is subjectively good. There may be rapists who did amazing or beneficial things to society, but that does not make them any less awful. And Uday certainly do not qualify for that distinction, the man was filth, and overthrowing the Hussein regime was an act of good.
Imagine a parallel universe where Latif actually killed Uday and made it pass as the body double getting killed. Then proceeded to remove Saddam and turn a dictatorship into a democracy.
Or a universe where Uday killed Saddam and his brother, while managing to make it look like he didn't kill them. He would have then become dictator of a Iraq and probably nuked the entire planet.

I am an Iranian, my mother's uncle was captured by Iraq's army exactly on the second day of the war. He was released 10 years later. The Iran-Iraq lasted 8 years, that means he was released 2 years AFTER the war was over. He was just normal soldier so he wasn't in a horrible prison(of course it's still a pretty fucked up place to be at) but when he and a couple other prisoners attemped to escape he was thrown in a very small prison, this prison cell was completely dark, no light at all. He was there for years. when he was finally freed they had to put a lot of layers of cloth on his eyes and remove a layer each week to get him used to seeing light. He was very hopeful about the Iranian revolution, returning to his homeland 11 years after the 1979 revolution he thought that Iran had become a heaven now but when he returned he realised people are still as poor as they were during the Shah's era which made him even more depressed. He's not the only one to fight in the war from my family, my own father was injured in the war, and my uncle was martyred, so yeah pretty much as they say, war, war never changes.
@BillyFreeTX Yes have to agree, I met an Iranian woman who invited me to the wedding of her sister. They were wealthy professional people who were very friendly, open and all round decent people
Iran was starting to westernize and modernize in the 1970s but the revolution just turned to the country back to a religious theocracy. Iran definitely seems like a fascinating nation and very attractive females too. Those Persian features
I read somewhere Saddam would hit Uday with an iron bar and make him watch torture videos when he was being "weak" and "squeamish" ..starting from when he was a CHILD (about 5 years old). Of course this would have had an extremely deleterious effect on his development, especially since he would have seen violence as a way to get his dad's approval. In so many instances we see how monsters are not always born, but created.
I remember him saying that since the UK government unpersoned him hes had a hard time with employment. Might be hard for him to become an American with limited funds.

Yes, because Hitler ordered the mass extermination of multiple religous and ethnic groups. Saddam is a better comparison to Hitler. Hitler wasn't a psychopathic manic. He was a genocidal manic.
The differences between Hitler and Uday are obvious. Hitler just saw what he ordered as a means to an end, with no hands on approach. Uday however would personally go out of his way to try out torture methods, taking pleasure into the hands on approach. Hitler had a bigger kill count by proxy, but Uday had a bigger individual kill count. Additionally, and I can't believe i'm saying this, at least you can enjoy a party at Hitler's house without having to worry about the host shooting, beating, or raping you.
Lateef simply recounted the general gist of what everyone already knew about Uday. He had no personal knowledge nor first hand accounts. So regarding the details of his stories I woulsnt believe
The most pleasing thing about this (and there isn't much) is that Latif not only escaped but prospered. After surviving that depraved, repugnant evil bastard its good to know he was able to escape and build a good life for himself and hopefully his remaining family too.
@@Immor7alBG sure, that's likely true as well, but that would still require Saddam to have cared enough about his country to want it to have a decent ruler after he was gone.

My mother would tell weird tales about how when 'qusay would enter the university of Baghdad everybody had to stand and clap as hard as they can to commemorate the presence of their ''dear leader's son'' and if you were caught not clapping you would be taken away never to be seen again. She also told me stories about how she saw 'uday playing tennis at the university and confirms that he moved and played like a girl. She would go on to say that his arms were ''khirga'' which is Iraqi for he had spaghetti arms. But he would always win because the people who played against him were terrified of him. I love my mother, she has a heart of gold, instantly connects with anyone that she talks to. She is a special person, truly. She is also the kind of person that loses her mind over anyone even mentioning that Iraq was better off under the rule of Saddam and his real life Geoffreys. Although Iraq is undergoing a three way civil war, and possibly under increasing influence from Iranian militia groups, things were never as bad as when Saddam was in power, she claimed. And I believe her. She was the one who convinced my dad to move out of Iraq and to the UAE during the 90's. They had decent Jobs in the uae, my mother went from being a secretary to the vice principal at a private school called Al murooj, in Abu Dhabi, to being vice principal of that school. My dad found a job working as a civil engineer at a German company in the uae. After waiting 8 years for our background checks to pass and our visas to be approved, we immigrated to canada. Pseudo philosophical idiots: Good and Evil aren’t real they’re just concepts
Uday Hussein: *Exists*
Objectively Good and Evil Exist.
Uday is indeed proof of what Evil in action looks like
If you sustain the belief that anything is possible, therefore any acts are not inherently good or evil then yes they are subjective.
Who defines what is good and what is bad
Alastor it’s a joke.
Imagine a parallel universe where Latif actually killed Uday and made it pass as the body double getting killed. Then proceeded to remove Saddam and turn a dictatorship into a democracy.

Dem Shikigorii imagine if he did get into power though. I bet he would be worse
I am pursuing a career in the Canadian military. Fighting for the things I believe in, as opposed to one tin pot dictator and I'm grateful for that.
@clout demon nah, i dont wanna die of corona
I hope you have great life
I currently live in iraq
ISIS were defeated only the government which is loyal to Iran is bad and corrupted otherwise Iraq will be even better in future
you can still visit your home any time though
icyburger completely understandable 😂
I have a Iraqi workmate of mine (49yrs old) here in Ghent, Belgium, we both work in a Volvo Car plant & whenever he hears our Belgian-Turk work colleagues say that Iraq was better before the Iraqi war, he vehemently corrects them & tells them that it was hell under Saddam. He despises such talk & speaks on about how Saddam looted the country & killed innocent people, left, right & center.
@@icyburger good luck with your career
I hope for the best for you
A real life monster, just a beast in human-costume.

I still remember where I was when I heard our boys got this fucker. Glad he didn't get away.
Literally the only good thing coming out of that invasion was getting him and his dad
@@psychomantis1926 were you hoping for oil?
@@psychomantis1926 removing Saddam Hussein completely destabilized the middle East! As bad as Saddam was he kept the Shia Muslims in check. There would be no isis if the Iraq war never happened.
@@tristman8413 exactly. Killing him was ridding the world of evil. But everything that happened after or because of that never needed to happen and only made stuff worse, especially since we had no legitimate reason to invade.
@dustisdeadbodies85 I take it you're from yanky land?
