  • In this film breakdown, we take a look at Cleveland Browns RT Dawand Jones, a rookie that was thrust into the lineup in Week 1 after Jack Conklin went down with an ACL injury. Jones is one of the biggest offensive lineman in NFL history, giving him some incredible advantages in some areas, while limiting some abilities in other areas. So far, he's been one of the best rookie lineman, only giving up 10 pressure and 1 sack on 237 pass blocking snaps. While run blocking is where his size hurts him the most, he's still been able to make some great impact blocks, making him an absolute steal, as a 4th round pick.

Watching the 9ers pass on him for a kicker was just painful, and it came to a head against Cleveland. Locked up Bosa.

Agreed, I wanted Paris Johnson Jr, but when he went off the board early thought they would go Skoronski and Dawand in 2nd round. Big miss with his length and frame, decent footwork for a huge tackle he will be dominant on the Browns for many years to come

Even after the Titans got Skoronski, I wanted Dawand on the team. He was a "my guy" who was gonna be a steal as he dropped.
So what was the issue? Weight? Attitude? I don't know, but he looked like a 1st rounder to me.
Anyway, looking forward to your evals of the coming OL rebuild for the Titans...I mean there has to be a rebuild, right? 🤷‍♂

@@SoUnDsOfMucus Ok I think I remember something like that. Maybe after Isaiah Wilson at least the Titans would be more cautious there.

The Steelers game was terrible coaching. Watt is the most effective defensive player they have , but they believed the hype that no one could block him. They should have used Watt in the left side or as nose tackle and kept Jones busy with someone else.

I know he won't win it, but I think Dawand has a legitimate case for OROY.

As a right tackle, and because of CJ Stroud, he has no shot. BUT, he should be heavily considered for it. What a stud he's been already. I love seeing these Buckeyes excel already!

I really wish offensive lineman could get consideration because he’s had such a big impact on our Oline with so many injuries.

Cleveland calls this guy "BIG THANOS" Guy is a beast for a rookie - likely will earn a serious contract if he can manage the NFL life the right way, some rookies can't and crash out of the league al-la Josh Gordon, Payton Hillis.
