Crazy power. After over 25 years of riding my favorite bike is now my Zero DSR. The instant torque scared the crap out of me first time. And it felt crazy with no gears just going and going.
Enjoying the sound is nothing to do with being an attention seeker. It is tapping into one of our primary senses, there is nothing like the sound of an amazing engine that adds to the experience of Motorsport. This isn't even a debate.

@Dan Williams Harley Davidson's are not the only bikes to have a loud exhaust note, but I love your viewpoint of a non qualified psychologist. I understand completely. I have an electric motorcycle and gas. Both bikes at the same speed,.....Gas feels like you're going faster than the electric bike. Electric is just eerie quiet to the point to where you are almost lulled to sleep on long trips. You'd never want to go to sleep on gas during a long trip.
@@J2A61 Yes and little boys play with choochoos until they get tired of staring at the tail lights of electrics. You know, like the electric vibrator that outperforms you on your wife?
I like loud bikes. Not because I wanna be like Hurr Durr look at me, but because I like that it has this kind of raw nature to it. The sound of hearing the engine scream while accelerating is what really puts a smile on my face. And I don't really understand what is so bad about liking bikes with a good sound. I surely could get used to an electric bike but having a 200bhp Engine directly underneath you and feeling / hearing it go is quite an amazing feeling.
I don't have a loud bike because I want people to look at me, or that it "saves lives". I have a loudish bike because I enjoy hearing it. It adds an element of fun to riding.
+Sone Jack long story short, I didn't bring all my riding gear with me to America for this trip, too much to lug around. I bought a lid there, and I was looking for an adventure style lid to use back home. Looking stupid in this video was the price I paid. :P

This guy is talking to us about getting some skill? Learn not to drop the bike and wear some gear on when you ride for starters.. Then as far as reviewing goes not one comment about features, suspension, cornering ability , riding position, weight, brakes .. And as far as sound goes.. Theres nothing like a litre bike through an Akrapovič exhaust..And yes loud pipes do save lives especialy when your lane spliting and in town riding.
Agree. It was a pretty entertaining video until he had to say that dumb shit towards the end. How he went from reviewing a bike, to bashing people at the drop of a hat completely confused me.
Gixxer983 even if loud pipes save lives. I am not convinced that anything is better than driving defensevely bikes always dangerous. fun but dangerous.....this bike a game changer. ...... .. .......bout time! extremely kool.
mnsoans You can make the electric bike beat the H2 tho. Just add voltage. Anyone who has played with modern electric rc cars knows that power is essentially unlimited, you just add volts until the motor cannot handle the heat any longer. Liquid cooling kills that problem though.
There is nothing like the sound of a V twin but for outright hp and speed it would seem that we have caught up to the future electric bikes are going to be everywhere from trials riding to motocross to grand prix 👑👑👑
+foolongtea True can't compare the two, but this is a not a production motorcycle either. Production actually used to mean something, now you can have 2 or 3 and it is production.
I was in a situation where I was trying to pull out from a stop sign and cars were parks alongside the road blocking my sight of oncoming traffic and I actually heard a straight piped Yamaha R6 (the bike I ride as well) coming well before I saw him. So that one case proved to me that yes, being able to hear a motorcycle does matter
Just think where we'd be if the big oil Co.'s hadn't crushed electric cars, bikes, Tesla and GE 100 years ago?!! However do reconsider the air pollution the oil spills, death & destruction caused by oil greedy bastards that have no sense but money/oil since!!! PS Great video & Bike! Thanks Oh and Did I miss how many miles you can expect to travel and how long to charge?
Exhausts are annoying? What? Put an Akrapovic exhaust and shit my balls i could listen to it all day long. These electric bikes are just boring, no gear, no sound, pure borness. If i would want a bike with no exhaust or gear then just get a scooter, equal as gay.
Matbee Well they would be boring in a couple months of riding. You can't do anything fun with them, like playing with the exhaust, pushing the limitter, changing gears manually. Nah fam i'll rather stick with my Yamaha
hani nadif couldn't agree more...that makes us obsolete and dinosaurs...which come first is anyone guess....good luck with the technological advance you can not be against 'cause you will the wrong weirdo...
If you ever get the chance to drive or ride an electric vehicle, don't pass up the opportunity. I'm pretty sure that it will change your mind, or at least give electric vehicles a bit more respect. The instant torque far surpasses anything that an internal combustion engine has to offer!
You are blasphemy. ICE cars only have range to be proud of, although even that wouldn't be a concern with Sodium batteries. Aside from that, it's very inferior in terms of efficiency and a long way in terms of emissions. Unless you work for GM.
hani nadif er, Global warming. Ebikes / ecars are the answer. oh shit, obvious dawns on clueless moron. They cause global warming too. Conclusion. We are fucked.
I don't know if you tried to say something smart just to compensate for swearing while accelerating (otherwise completely understandable considering the circumstances) however, your comments against the argument that loud bikes are safer, were just brilliant. Excellent review!

ItsHolyWaffle exactly! !! you caint even wheelie that thing with out standing on the back... no racing gas smell. no more driving skills need.... just pull the gas.... nah I'll stick to a real bike.... Women play with dildos there electric get here there fast but there is still nothing like a real 🍆 lol
Because you caveman.
@@J2A61 Yes and little boys play with choochoos until they get tired of staring at the tail lights of electrics. You know, like the electric vibrator that outperforms you on your wife?
@@J2A61 fucking savage dude I like your style!
It adds an element of fun to riding.
can somebody tell me why he is wearing a motocross helmet...?
+Sone Jack long story short, I didn't bring all my riding gear with me to America for this trip, too much to lug around. I bought a lid there, and I was looking for an adventure style lid to use back home. Looking stupid in this video was the price I paid. :P
It's an ADV helmet. It's got a shield...
"British, you know?"
The only thing I don't like about electric bikes and cars is that you can't shift, and shifting is pretty fun
Jacob Jarvis It is completely possible to mate an electric motor to a manual gearbox.
Electric boil down riding to the rawest. Its you, your skill, and the wind
nah fuck that i love the sound of mi bike
ootko varma siitä

Moposta ei lähe kunnon ääntä enne 600 kuutiota ;)
***** en aja mopolla :3
John Metadata onneks vien sun kaikki naiset sillä mun pärrällä :)) laita osote niin tuun huuattaa siihen keittiös eteen. p.s mulla on oikeesti aika hiljane pyörä
Still waiting for an independent performance test.
Hope you enjoyed your 10 minute, 100 mph ride !
Negative Nancy. Soon batteries will out perform a full tank of gas on a single charge.
Watched this two years ago and now again and I’m laughing right with you!! What an epic bike and epic review 😂
Sexiest bike ever... Besides the Ninja H2 ;)
it is very sexy but I'd argue that the ktm rc8 is as good looking or better.
i kinda wish tesla would back and or buy this company, that way the lightening would get that much more money for development ...Mmmmm
Tesla are going broke.. sorry to burst your bubble
***** gotta please the guys paying the bills..
Gixxer983 even
if loud pipes save lives.
I am not convinced that anything is better than driving defensevely
bikes always dangerous.
fun but dangerous.....this bike a game changer. ...... .. .......bout time!
extremely kool.
Not a massive bike person, however this thing rips and is clearly a game changer!
I have seen this already and ... I miss you gizmag
Nice !
I'd like a naked version of that bike for just under 10k$ and you can sign me up !
Thanks!!!
andree hammerschmidt that will cost you 40k.
Zero motorcycles might suit you better. Or wait, the price should come down in future models.
Isn't the H2R still faster than this?
mnsoans yes
he says it is in the video.
mnsoans You can make the electric bike beat the H2 tho. Just add voltage. Anyone who has played with modern electric rc cars knows that power is essentially unlimited, you just add volts until the motor cannot handle the heat any longer. Liquid cooling kills that problem though.
my fucking god you are an idiot if you think its that simple.
My fucking god you are an idiot if you think its not that simple. In my old Job i worked a lot with electic motors and yes, it is that simple.
Fastest production bike is a Y2K over 250MPH!
Fastest bike is my 10 speed when I drop it from low earth orbit
There is nothing like the sound of a V twin but for outright hp and speed it would seem that we have caught up to the future electric bikes are going to be everywhere from trials riding to motocross to grand prix 👑👑👑
it's not that people want to ride (or drive) noisy machines, it's that the sound of a combustion engine is heavenly!!
I'll take my noisy pipes so people look at me thanks. If they look at me, then they've seen me and are less likely to run me over.
DENMONKEY exactly!
Casey Neistat must not ride
Casey what's your Nick name
thought so😂
You sound just like an amateur. Skills save lives not loud noises. Which it seems you clearly lack.
The Ninja H2R does 240MPH so this bike is not even close to fastest bike.
Until they get it onto the salt flats and prove it, the Lightning holds the title.
The H2R isn't road legal
H2R is a track only bike and cannot be used on the streets, can't compare them.
+foolongtea True can't compare the two, but this is a not a production motorcycle either. Production actually used to mean something, now you can have 2 or 3 and it is production.
The H2R is still a production bike, it's just not street legal. This is street legal and should only be compared to other street legal bikes.
Love the bike ... I think it is awesome but don't get your hopes up about the future mate... Jesus is coming soon!!!
Stefan Nieuwoudt
The Bible doesn't say when... So you are wrong
Is he coming on an electric bike?
God doesn't exists and jesus died along time ago and also he was a magician
"the magic battery is coming soon",and has been for a long time now. If it doesnt make it then what?
I was in a situation where I was trying to pull out from a stop sign and cars were parks alongside the road blocking my sight of oncoming traffic and I actually heard a straight piped Yamaha R6 (the bike I ride as well) coming well before I saw him. So that one case proved to me that yes, being able to hear a motorcycle does matter
I like riding a loud bike coz I love the noise and vibration it makes the bike have character in my opinion
Just think where we'd be if the big oil Co.'s hadn't crushed electric cars, bikes, Tesla and
GE 100 years ago?!!
However do reconsider the air
pollution the oil spills, death & destruction caused by oil greedy bastards that have no sense but money/oil since!!!
PS
Great video & Bike!
Thanks
Oh and
Did I miss how many miles you can expect to travel and how long to charge?
you need extremely pollutive industry to make batteries.
Only 4 hours to charge as well
30min on fastcharger (as the website, link in description)
How many kilometres it goes for full charge?
RAM VEGETA depends on how fast youre going and how often you let of the gas
What if in a average maintenance of speed nd rev limit?
Buy 10 batteries and change in 5mins
Exhausts are annoying? What? Put an Akrapovic exhaust and shit my balls i could listen to it all day long. These electric bikes are just boring, no gear, no sound, pure borness. If i would want a bike with no exhaust or gear then just get a scooter, equal as gay.
I wouldn't say boring. At all.
Matbee Well they would be boring in a couple months of riding. You can't do anything fun with them, like playing with the exhaust, pushing the limitter, changing gears manually. Nah fam i'll rather stick with my Yamaha
Have had i3 for 3 years. Still not boring. Much torque. Much handling. Much whine noise. Much fun.
I'm excited for the future!
That bike looks incredibly fun.
so it is a scooter then? real fast one xD
Is your harley a minibike with bigger tires and bigger motor? Dont be stupid
That bike is blasphemy! Internal combustion engine rules!
hani nadif couldn't agree more...that makes us obsolete and dinosaurs...which come first is anyone guess....good luck with the technological advance you can not be against 'cause you will the wrong weirdo...
If you ever get the chance to drive or ride an electric vehicle, don't pass up the opportunity. I'm pretty sure that it will change your mind, or at least give electric vehicles a bit more respect. The instant torque far surpasses anything that an internal combustion engine has to offer!
hani nadif - Thats exactly what people said about the first cars that didnt want to give up their horses...
Conclusion. We are fucked.
we've known for sometime, that electric motors were the future, however, batteries, presented the real challenge, weight, size, etc
i´ve once been a co-driver on a 70 hp e zero and it was scary as hell, im used to bikes who enlength your arms but the e zero was freacking amazing
I don't know if you tried to say something smart just to compensate for swearing while accelerating (otherwise completely understandable considering the circumstances) however, your comments against the argument that loud bikes are safer, were just brilliant. Excellent review!
