This is absolute nonsense. This rhetoric that we had a bad season finishing fifth after losing Kane and finishing 8th the season before is bizarre. They all predicted we'd be outside the top ten when harry left 😂
If the season had carried on we would have been.
1 game a week and we barely made it to fifth once teams found us out.
That Chelsea game showed the whole premier league how to play against Spurs. They knew anges isn't going to change his tactics.

Also, that's a complete rewriting of events. We didn't play badly after the Chelsea game because teams worked us out. Things didn't go badly until post-Jan! Chelsea didn't tactically work us out that game individual players cause major problems - Romero being the main culprit.
Danny Kelly is spot on with his assesments, really needs to be on more. Angeball tactics work best when possession is only rarely lost to allow counterattack. A lot of our players fall short of this with poor first touch and Bergvall is showing how it should be done with great touch and control. Bissouma, Maddison, Sonny,, Skipp, Solomon,Werner, Johnson, Richy, Deke and some others all fall short on this.
Danny is one if the very best !! Love listening to him .. really love it ! Knows his stuff & doesn't just recycle the general claptrack

It’s simple in Ange’s mind. In the three different countries he’s been in, once he has a squad of players who can play his system/philosophy sufficiently well he believes (and his titles back it up) that he will be successful.
Last year he had players like Gil/Hojbjerg/Dier/Emerson/Davies/Skipp etc…. Who are better in other systems and it takes more than one summer to sort. We still finished fifth and only just off the champions league but people talk like we are now a mid table side……bonkers.
Yeah, couldn't defend even with VDV and Romero as our centre backs last season. Not the system at all is it pal??
@@SuperSteve101 you’re not getting it mate, in his system the whole team has to gel with it. Last season we missed so many chances, failed to press as he wanted us to and gave the ball away countless times which gave teams a go at us. As mentioned in the video all our best players last season were our defenders, mainly because of a major lack in midfield which tells you it’s not their ability to defend but the teams inability to play the way Ange wants us to all over the park.
I’m not saying Ange’s system isn’t without flaws but we sure as heck haven’t seen what it looks like in full flow yet as it’s still a squad full of of other managers players. Hopefully by the end of this month another couple of key players are added.

Because we were mid table in form after those first 10 games. That 10 game run we had at the beginning of the season pretty much saved us from embarrassment. Last 10 games we're 15th on the table. We've consistently looked extremely vulnerable on the transition for a while now. I truly do want Ange to succeed but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried.

He ain’t wrong though .
Tottenham went from the dour football of Conte to a high intensity and pressing team. The team ran out of steam at the latter part of the season but also had one of the toughest schedules. Cascarino pretty much ignores this. Ange is trying to implement his football but more importantly build a new mentality in the squad. You don't do that by abandoning it before you've even implemented it because you've lost a few games.
One of the toughest schedules? The league plus three cup games!

Maybe he meant losing the 2 starting centre backs, defensive midfield and main attacking midfielder plus having no centre forward for the majority of the season, not sure why schedule was mentioned, they had the easiest schedule, went out of both cups early
If they had a tough run in that means that the easy opening fixtures you had shouldn't be celebrated. You had 10 decent games and were sh*te the rest of the season.

Levy`s ego is a major problem for Spurs, unless it is an opportunistic signing he has to have the last say and the feeling he has `won the transfer` , hence all the low ball offers, dragging deals out, moving the goalposts etc. Levy out.
Ben davis and skipp is the antithesis of angeball. If them two are still playing we will concede 60 goals again.

If you look at the stats, our first team defence let in as many goals as our "second" string defence. Seems to be more of a system issue. Constantly being counter attacked with only 2 players (CB and CB) back is causing chaos for us. I thought he might use the CDM to drop back in to a back 3 if he wants to persist with 2 inverted wingback... seems that is not the case though. I'd expect him to be gone by Christmas.
Skipp started 3 games last season and one was the first game of the season try again.

Gallagher was always a non-starter for that reason.
It's just a time thing, see how the squad performs this season if there's no alot of things that get in the way, a first season is a first season and 5th place isn't that bad considering everything gone on.
Sold best player, Long serving GK essentially left the club (still trained), new system, some new players to the team (cohesion with the players around them), alot and alot of injuries last season, small squad, players playing out of position (Royal going to LB and CB, Son attempting the Lone striker role, didn't do too bad but he barely had many touches in the box, Davies can play LCB of a back three to an extent but its more difficult in a back four also doesn't have the legs for LB anymore etc)
It's a first season for a new manager, with limited resources in terms of players, the main thing was teaching the players he had through the season how to try play the system as many weren't the right player for it but they still had to learn so that the players who were right for it could play their roles correctly and learn them while doing it (so we'll see ones who aren't right get phased out as new players come in).

Looking like the same team this season that struggled at the end of last season. There is reason to worry. Fifth was a good finish but team was sliding not improving. Style has been worked out need some variation and plan B. Bayern play out from the back goal is still happening.

Here it every season, nothing different to last season predictions. At the end of the day they’d been playing Conte / Jose ball for nearly 4 seasons. They have a brand new style with half the players not suited for it, with the right signings who ANGE wants, they will thrive. Already getting rid of allot of dead wood

Spurs issue is Son’s not the player he once was, Richy is not a 20+ goals per season striker. Kanes not been replaced, Kulu is average, Johnson and Werner is bench quality, Maddison is average, Bissouma and Sarr are bench quality. The whole midfield and attack could be replaced.
Inverted full backs, no experienced top 6, and no plan B tactically/formation wise are the issues Ange has, and a weak front 3

The number of ridiculous goals conceded on set pieces doesn’t take you to the Champions League. Isn't this literally what Spurs fans have been asking for? Playing good football and getting decent results? I don't know what more they can reasonably expect him how much money they spend each window? I think Ange is doing fine at Spurs, people need to chill out to be honest. Why would you be complaining about that? Very strange behaviour to be honest. They've had a good first season after having just lost their best player and captain too.
They need serious investment if they want to move on and make serious strides, and the manager isn't getting that? So what else do you really expect the manager to do? Everytime they try to spend serious money to be fair to Levy they always seem to sign huge duds, looking at players like Ndombele for example. They just need to focus on trying to qualify for CL football as they go into next season.
He's not going to change his style of play and nor should he, its down to Spurs to match his amibition and bring players in that can actually take the club forward overall.

I love how these little Europa Conference league clubs think they are our rivals. It's kind of cute we bug them so much but stick to the Palaces or Fulhams of this world.
Ange’s tactics are suicidal, no one plays 2 inverted full backs it just doesn’t work in the prem! Leaving them exposed massively at the back, another thing is the midfield is no way near good enough and the forward line isn’t far off either as no one can trap a ball always lose possession high up the pitch and teams get in behind easily.. people may say you can’t blame Ange as the players cannot play his way however 5 of the 7 forwards are his own signings and besides probably kulusevski (average at times) they’re awful forwards. Probably a good idea to drop 10 yards deeper and play with 1 inverted if that’s the way he wants to play and than go and buy a no.6 and a proper no.9 and might do ok.

Easy for you to mention 8th when conte got sacked in march and pretty sure he had us in 4th at the time, also not to mention contes back four were royal, dier, Romero and Davies. Too many of our fans are so grateful that we are playing more attractive footbal under Postecoglou that they think any criticism of him is tantamount to blasphemy.
They've not only overlooked how bad our performances were in the second half of last season but also Postecoglou's lack of interest in set pieces, even though they frequently cost us last season.
I think we're in for a long, hard season and Postecoglou could well be gone in a year from now.
