Great review! Thank you! I’ve been going back and forth back and forth between the Synik 22 and Synik 30! Every time I think I know which one to get, I see some review that makes me think otherwise! Help! I’ll be using it mostly for travel as my “personal item” as I will also travel with a Monos regular carry on (22”x14”x9”). I’m male, around 5’6”-5’7” and I’m not sure it will look too big on me. Also I’m worried that the Synik 30 might look almost the same size as my Mono carry on. Thinking about future flights on those discount European airlines like Ryan Air who I hear are very strict. Your insight/experience will help. Thanks, Danny!
this may be an impossible question to answer but I'll take a shot :) which 27 + L backpack would you say is THE MOST COMFORTABLE to carry? (if you have ties for top choice and more wants would help narrow down, include also capacity for school books, exterior water, 15" laptop storage if those options would help narrow it down).
Guys is this ok for an edc - I assume it looks a lot less bulky and large than a farpoint, but not 100% sure from the video. Just want an edc thatI can have room for shopping in and gym kit on top of my work stuff, but doesn't look big with just a laptop in.
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice between the two! I like the clamshell opening and the shoulder straps of the Synik a bit more, but overall I think I prefer the Pakt backpack a bit more for the overall aesthetic, the laptop compartment, and its the back panel. Both are really solid options though and the Synik rounded shape makes it look slightly smaller which could help work better for edc in a pinch. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! Although I find the synik a bit more comfortable and I love the pocketing on it, overall I prefer the dual clamshell layout on the gr2 and the fact that it has a separate and better protected laptop compartment
I'm torn between this and the Cotopaxi Allpa 35l... I have the Cotopaxi but considering selling and getting this. I prefer clamshell openings that open across the bottom of the bag instead of the side (like a briefcase). This allows easier access (like a top loader) while sitting on a plane (or anywhere for that matter). I'm also wondering how much of a difference there is in actual capacity. That said, the Cotopaxi laptop compartment looks better. Help! 😩
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! I haven’t had a chance to try the allpa 35 but I have used the 28 and I do think the laptop compartment is a little better. I imagine the 35 can hold a bit more than the synik but the synik is deceptively spacious so it might be pretty close and I also prefer the clamshell style of the synik vs the allpa opening. The synik organizational options also help boost the usability of it over the allpa and I feel like it would be a little better for walking around / exploring
Would this be too large for a edc bag for everyday office or weekend outings ? Or would you recommend the Synapse 25. Synik 30 is at $300 and Synapse is $220 but will have to get a laptop cache $45 which is still less then Synik but loose out the full clampshell opening. Is the size almost the same ?
Thank you for watching and good question! The sizing on the two is pretty close, it is a little big for what I normally like to use for edc but it can work especially if you are a little taller. The clamshell opening is definitely nice and another nice feature of the Synik is that it includes a framesheet that the synapse does not which helps add some comfort and support. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)
@@dannypacks Thanks I might go for the synik 30 if the size is similar as Synapse25+cache for 15inch MacBook Pro +frame sheet will be around 290 and synik is 300. Ideally if the Synik 22 could fit a 15inch laptop it would have been perfect. Do you plan to review the Evade 1.5 ? That’s another bag i am considering (unrelated to the Tom Bhin question)
Thank you for watching! Overall this definitely feels smaller and sleeker than the GR2 34, but the difference in what they can hold is not super big. This can hold an impressive amount and the pocketing layout is one of the best on any bag, the GR2 offers some additional capacity in the main compartment and it’s nice that it has a dedicated and suspended laptop pocket which is a little better IMO than the one on the Synik. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bags!:)
I am looking for a backpack recommendation that can be used for occasional business travel and office use. I prefer a minimalist, subtle look. ' The gears that I would carry (most of the time) 1 - 16' MacBook Pro 2021 2 - 13' MacBook Pro 2020 3 - iPad Pro 12.9 2021 4 - Chargers for MacBook and iPad/iPhone 5 - Notebook (A5 size) I usually carry my accessories (chargers, cables, dongles) in a tech pouch (AER Tech Pack).
Thank you for watching! This is a pretty good option for that, some others that may be worth considering include: aer travel pack 3 small, bellroy transit pack, able carry max, heimplanet transit 28, evergoods CPL24, goruck gr2 26L or timbuk2 authority pack
I mean, maybe not $270, but it’s a heck of a lot better. It’s designed and made in the US from high quality materials too. Clearly lots of people think it’s worth it.
@@James-zy4nc spends multiple hundreds on plane tickets, and saves money by not checking in, but won't put that saved money to a one time purchase? seems silly, since this one is really smartly designed, and the accessories for it work well to make the travel experience better.
Thank you for watching! Definitely more of a focus on function over style on this one, it works for me but I can see how it’s definitely not for everyone
The Synik is definitely not pretty, but that doesn’t stop it from being my daily driver. It fits a ridiculous amount of stuff. I only wish the primary compartment had a bit more organization, like the smaller pockets do. I also don’t think the central water bottle pocket is super great, because I like side pockets for storing my umbrella too. As well, I don’t like the idea of my water bottle being near my electronics. The laptop compartment does fit the 16” MacBook Pro, it just takes a bit of effort to get it out of the side access pocket. For such a large bag I think it could’ve been made a bit easier to use with 15”+ laptops. I’m definitely going to be using the Synik 30 as my travel bag (when that’s possible again) from its ability to store so much !
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bag! I’m glad to hear you’ve enjoyed using it and those are some good points on the water bottle pocket and the laptop sizing!:)
Great review! Ordering as soon as I am notified that my color options are in stock. Thanks!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Hopefully they restock soon!:)
I have the synik 22 and I absolutely love it. Makes an amazing work bag and also a great travel carry on.👌
Thank you for watching and I’m glad to hear you’ve been enjoying the bag a lot! It’s great how many use cases the bag is good for!:)

I’m looking for a bag for EDC and to carry my gym kit. Narrowed down to this and the GR2 26L. Which do you prefer out of the two?

How does this bag comparing in size with the 34L GR2?

My buddy has a synic 30 and it’s nice, but NOT 270 bucks better than the $50 Swiss gear back pack I’ve been traveling with for years.

I'm selling a lightly used black one (30L) if anyone is interested

Square ultra modern bags are overrated. This design is timeless
Thank you for watching and that’s a fair point, definitely a unique design!
"traditional bag" aka dad bag
Thank you for watching and I’d say that’s a pretty fair way to describe it! :) haha
