- This is some what of a Part Two of the C6 Corvette Z06 and just some of the details of the car and what it has done. The c5 z06 is also my car and I brought it to do a small comparison and also friendly debate with viewers on some of the different characteristics.

I've owned both, plus a few GT Mustangs. The C5 Z16 is the only car that i miss. With just a cam and bolt-ons it made 420rwhp/400rwtq and was as docile as an Accord. Still have the 2009 Z06.

Great video, my father was a Corvette nut when he was alive, he owned over a dozen over the years. I'm in Deltona, Florida and have a 2003 634 RWHP supercharged C5 ZO6, I love the car and never will sell it. I was going to beef up the engine internals so I could turn up the boost, but it overpowers the road as it is, and the rear end kicks out when I get on it. I have to leave the traction control off any time I want to get on it otherwise the car goes into limp mode.
Sounds like an amazing car you have. Sorry for your loss that's gotta be tough. Me and my Dad are very close and he also has had many Corvettes over the years, it's what he loves. Thanks for watching, maybe we will run into you at a show one day

I definitely agree. My dad did the driving parts and he completely forgets to take traction control off lol....He is more into classic cars so a button is his last thought when he punches it lol Thank you for watching, we will get a better one next time for sure

Love both cars, the C6Z is such a beast with that LS7. My fav gen is the C5 though. I always wanted one as a kid and bought myself one when i was 22, still have it 10 yrs later, far from stock now ofcourse.

An aftermarket dry sump is basically a must to track a c6z. So $5-10k just to keep it reliable. Plus the required valvetrain work.

Ive got a 2002 z/28 and I feel like I’m in an f16 when driving next to most cars. The throttle response with the ls1 and manual transmission is too much fun. Car is super tight. I can’t imagine a C5 vette.

I almost bought a C6 Z06 a few years ago but I needed a truck to pull my toys. I often consider swapping my TT 300ZX for a C6 Z06. Don't have room for both. Lol

I'm quite certain the c6 has more trunk space than the c5z by a lot. It's just deceiving because it's the volume going up to the glass.
Definitely makes me happy to hear that, it has never developed into any issues, just a noise. I have some LS cars and they make their own set of noises too. Aluminum engines make the noise louder and travel but never anything to worry about thankfully

I should probably watch the entire video before commenting. The actual ignition key on the C5 is a plus in my opinion.
Funny you said that because in my original short video I did on them I also mentioned that as well. I will take the key in the ignition over the key fob for the C6 every day of the week. I don't care for the push button start or the newer vehicles with push button E-brakes

Take the electric door switch apart and clean the copper contact
surface and apply electrical grease and assemble it together
Mine was corroded at 9k miles
You will see a slight touch of the door switch from the outside and door pops open fast
It is an easy fix

Right on sounds like a beautiful car. I had the deal of a lifetime on a C5Z in black and I missed it by a couple days moving money around. Still hate I missed it to this day cause I already had the black C6...happens. Im near the Tampa area so a pretty good hike away from ya.

Funny, I too have a crack in my C5z HUD bezel in that exact same spot.
Ive actually seen a few that way, weird
The C5 door is electro mechanical. The key activates a lever that is attached to a switch that electrically opens the door. The C6 did away with the lever and put the electrical switch on the door versus inside of it.
That's interesting I never heard that before. I always thought the handles were mechanical and the only thing electric was the door lock. I checked out a schematic but didnt see anything, what part of it is electronic?
@@lsx_doc I learned this when the arm attached to the key cylinder came out of its socket and I had to go into the door to fix it. Let me know if this would be interesting to you or others. I am starting RUclips channel and am looking for good content to make. Have a great day !

I never really liked the C5 Z06 style with that short roof. Now the C7 is 🔥 love it and everything about it.

You probably get asked this a lot but what size rims are on the c6 all the way around, did you have a problem with it rubbing because they're deep dish correct. Can you reveal rim size Backspace size tire size please.
19x11 rear and 19x9 front
I did have to make a few adjustments to the rear lowering bolts and it was fine and the only other rubbing issue I had was the front wheels touching the wildwood calipers... I ran a spacer to solve that issue and longer ARP wheel studs. As for the backspace I am not sure
C5 Z06 just stands out in yellow 🔥

I kept the stock wheels for c5 but didnt care for the ones on the black car so they went on a Z51 vette I had
What wheels are on the C6? I have forester Cf10's on my C6Z at the moment but I love how those look...are they 19's?
They are Iconz but from my understanding they are no longer in business but HRE has something very close

If you had to choose one for a 35 mile roundtrip daily (mixed interstate and city) which would you choose?
I personally would choose the C5Z all day, love driving the C5z more myself but both great choices

Icons 830ZR but they do not make them anymore and I believe are out of business unfortunately. HRE makes something very similar to it though

im not really sure, I do most of my own work so I haven't looked into shops. I hear so many horror stories these days
