actually japanese has some great expressions for near enough, depending on the situation. maa-maa, daitai, gurai, juubun, iisen itteru, tekitouni. And they have a great expression for something thats been thrown together, which is not the same as near enough (but near enough) - butsukehonban, which means "crash performance". usually used for home cooking and other concessionary moments.
