An actual full episode of Bruce Forsyth's Generation game taken off air from the 3rd December 1994.
As for Noel's house party, all I have is the first four minutes of footage taken from the same day, Should I upload it anyway?
Please set the quality to 720p50 to get the best results. (When it comes up that is.)

Love this so much. Reminds me of sitting around my Nan and Grandads on a Saturday afternoon/evening when we went down to see them. This along with Big Break and Noels House Party. Great days indeed.
Same here mate. But I was over in Dublin. Brought up a lot by my maternal grandparents. Holidays with relatives in Chelmsford, or up to Blackpool...Cilla Black, Only Fools and Horses, Inspector Morse, Lovejoy, Corrie and Emmerdale when it was Emmerdale Farm, Mike Reid as Frank Butcher in Eastenders, Jim Bowen in Bullseye....
Had amazing childhood memories going to UK for holidays. Only over there in June in Cornwall, then London... Seen my great uncle in a Chelsea Nursing Home for the soldiers... He was irish of course but he joined and served his while career ij the British Army and seen combat...
Next year seeing another great aunt and uncle in Plymouth...
If I got a cuppa, two slices of toast, one with real butter and Marmite or Bovril, one with marmalade with peel... Bourbon Creams, Mikados, Custard Creams, Jam and Creams and if we were very lucky.. VISCOUNT biscuits! 😂 But only one!
Then Allo Allo, Generation Game, Casualty, something with Anneka Rice, something like Indiana Jones or Back to the Future, Match of the Day and then when nana and grandad go to bed, stay up and put Channel 4 on and hope for something fun... Or maybe BBC2 and something like Conan comes on...
Wish I could go back to experience that one more time!

I used to love watching this as a kid but why doesn't this ever get repeated on channels such as 'Challenge' like Bruce Forsyth's over game shows including 'The Price is Right' and 'Play Your cards Right'?
I really wish there were still proframmes like this. I remember sitting around the tv with my whole family. We were all crying with laughter. It's just not the same anymore 😢

Can't believe it's that long ago I remember watching this wonderful show with the late great Bruce Forsyth and Rosemarie Ford.
Did any of you hear what came after the gen game Noel's House Party which was another great show one part of that I liked was the Gotcha Oscar and the best one of those was the DLT Gotcha. They don't make programmes like this anymore which is very sad.

1994 was a great year for me as I left school and turned 17. This was Bruce Forsyth last season of Generation Game. As mentioned his successor would take over a year later. Jim mentioned about his approach for stepping in for Bruce for a week thought it was another GOTCHA by Noel Edmonds 😂😂

I've never seen this before and only looked it up because Rob Brydon mentioned it on WILTY. I thought it was utterly charming! And that many people today would never participate in a show like this because they would be afraid to look foolish - at least in the US where self importance is, sadly, a chronic condition.
I will be watching all of these I can.

Great quality upload. I remember watching this episode when Bruce thanked Jim Davidson for standing in for him the previous week.
Technical question, what settings did you use to encode this video to maintain the interlaced look? I’ve been uploading some VHS recordings myself (in mpeg2 format) and RUclips keeps deinterlacing them.
I encoded this video by using the Quicktime format with H.264 as the video codec.
I use that because RUclips seems to like that format.
By the way, if you want to make your videos run at 50/60fps on youtube, you need to export your video file at least at 720p50/60.
Otherwise youtube will deinterlace your video and will only run at half its frame rate.
That's how it worked for me.

You’re welcome and thank you for your reply. Up until now I’ve been editing the .ts VHS transfers with Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 and encoding in .mpeg2 with matching video parameters. My finished videos look great on their own, but when they go on RUclips the frame rate just drops.
I’ll certainly give your method a try. It’s weird how you have to encode VHS in HD for it to look in any way decent on YT.
By chance, what do you use to capture VHS footage? The suggestion I gave you may or may not work.
I used a stand-alone DVD Recorder hooked up to a VCR (about 12 years ago) and then ripped them losslessly to MKV via MakeMKV. I then converted them (losslessly) to .ts via tsMuxer so they can be imported to Sony MSP12.
I take it your method WILL work for me then? 😊
90s were much simpler and happier. I can’t reach any other conclusion.
