In this video ill show how to fully take a Yamaha RDS 200 Sea scooter apart, but this guide also works for any other model in the RDS lineup as there all relatively the same.

Thank you very much! I have exactly the same problem. Board and motor wet. I don't understand how a Yamaha engineer could build such rubbish.

Hey nice vid! How did you removed the handles, is it glued or something?

Thanks! On my model the handle was held together with hidden screws. You will probably see little holes with plastic caps along the handle. Underneath those is where you’ll find the mounting screws.

Hi, thanks for your video! I have a seascooter rds 300 with a problem and I open that you can give me some advice: a little water enters the battery compartment, I cleaned the edges and then I lubricated as per the manual, but the problem remained, in your opinion how can i solve this problem? Thank you and good day. Best regards

Hi there, sometimes water can be inevitable if the scooter wasn’t properly sealed when built. My advice for keeping it sealed would be to apply some silicon lube at the propeller shaft where it meets the body. However the good news is the batteries are waterproofed as well as the electronics. I’ve had mine completely open underwater a few times and it still worked.

What type/size of motor is in there? Would it be possible to change it out for a faster one?

Did you find the RDS 200 too slow for an adult?

It’s a little slow, only goes about walking speed but it’s enjoyable while the power lasts
