      Eagyio if we’re gonna be honest if we had Trubisky back then we most likely would have won a super bowl with that team. Trubisky is able to make good throws and he doesn’t force balls as much as cutler did. But it’s a new era for the bears, so I don’t look back at that time period

      @Michael F And Brady threw for 505 yards and 33 points. But his defense played like hot garbage and lost him the game. And he had a late 4th quarter clutch drive in both SBs vs Giants but his dwfense choked. But even if you were right, He hassnt missed the playoffs since 2002, has most SB apperances than the Steelers or anything either franchise, and has as much or more Superbowl wins in the last 5 years than 23 franchises have in 52 years. More SB apperances than Montana and Peyton combines. He had 30 playoff wins well those 2 have a combined 30. And he is playing till 45 so he will have more than 30. And Peyton has about a .500 playoff record Brady is .750. And the Eagles have an alltime losing winning percentage and the Giants are damn incosistent. Pats gave been to the playoffs 19 times in the last 23, 17 divional round games, 14 conference Champioship games, 10 Superbowls. Shutup

    What about Shane Matthews - 2001 Chicago Bears. The Bears in 2001 suprised a lot of people. From 1996-2000, the Bears compiled 5 straight losing seasons. In 2001, they went 13-3 and would host a playoff game for the first time since 1991. The Bears had the league's best defense allowing 12.7 points per game. Anthony Thomas had 278 rushes for 1,183 yards and 7 rushing touchdowns. And Marty Booker caught 100 passes for 1,071 and 8 touchdowns. The bears offensively played great ball control led by Jim Miller who through 14 games only had a 57.7 completion percentage for 2,299 13 TDs and 10 ints. But it wasnt Miller's fault, it was his backup Shane Matthews. The Bears hosted the Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb led Eagles in the divisional round. After Miller went down with an injury, Matthews took over and did pretty bad. He only had 8 completions for 66 and was picked off twice. The bears lost 33-19. And that was also the final game for old Soldier field before in got converted into it is today. Miller had a good season so this one was on Matthews. Do any of u agree?

    Mitch Trubisky, 2018-19 Bears. They had the most dominant defense in the league, lead the league in rush defense and sacks. All Mitch had to do was not mess it up and he went out there against Philly and laid a big fat egg on the field. You could pretty much pick any year with the Detroit Lions in the 90s, quarterback was their achilies heel, in 1994 they signed Scott Mitchell over Warren Moon. Mitchell had a very good 1995 season then imploded in the NFC Wild Card Game at Philadelphia throwing 4 interceptions in a 58-37 loss. The Lions made the playoffs 5 times from 1991-1997 with 4 different starting quarterbacks Erik Kramer (1991, 1993), Dave Krieg (1994), Scott Mitchell (1995, 1997). The ineptitude at quarterback is one of the reasons Barry Sanders retired after 10 magical seasons despite being on the verge of breaking the all time rushing record.

    Actually it was Josh McCown that turned the Bears offense around with Coach Trestman in 2013. Jay Cutler was injured most of the season. Jay Cutler came back just in time to lose to the Packers, in the last game of the year, while being eliminated from the playoffs, allowing Green Bay to clinch a wild card berth with the win. Nobody remembers that, because the Bears turned around and gave Jay Cutler the HUGE contract the following off-season, and released Josh McCown!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!! A move which made me almost turn against the Bears. It's a huge head scratcher to this day. The Bears organization has made PLENTY of questionable personnel decisions over the years.

The defense surrendered a 4th and 12 conversion from midfield to lose the game. But you nailed it with Elvis. He looked good in preseason and week 1. After that, yikes. I'm going to go way out of the box for myself on this one.
    Can we just say the 1986 Chicago Bears season was ruined by absolute poor QB play in general? That team went 14-2, and depending on who you ask was better then the 85 team defensively. You still had Walter Peyton being a beast for another year. The Bears of that era would never return to those 85 heights, and having a mediocre group of passers that year definitely contributed to that. This was probably the team most reminiscent of, I believe, that 1976 Steelers squad, in which the Steelers defense dominating opponents en route to the AFC Title game. I mean, if we're being objective about it, this is probably one of the more disappointing teams in history in terms of where it ended up.

    The Broncos gave Osweieler that contract it was a genius move trading him to the Texans they picked up most the contract then Houston released him. He got paid 80 million for riding the bench Big Ups to brock.

    Cant blame the qb on all of these. Alot of these werent on the qb. Like flacco and the ravens I couldnt just blame flacco he did fine for a pocket passing mid round draft pick that never had a really good back.
    What about the trio in san fran in 2014 or 15.. When they had a great defense and decent offence but we couldnt figure it with the signal caller.. Tried blaine gabbert Brian hoyer and kapernick. Just couldnt get the w.

    • @Gungho73
      @Gungho73 5 лет назад +3

      To be fair, its hard to say he's the reason that team faltered. They didnt run the ball like they did with Shurmur, where they ran it regardless of success in order to keep balance (helping Keenum tremendously). Their defense got off to a slow start, with Barr faltering in a prove it year, and their defensive leader Griffen having to enforce personal leave to deal with his issues, and didnt look dominant as the year before except in specific circumstances. And even if the offensive line was poo, the inability to tear away the playcalling sheet earlier and force the coordinator to run the ball with talents like Cook or Murray in the backfield hurt their expensive acquisitions greatest asset, the playaction pass. AKA a fundemental misunderstanding of what Cousins strengths were fried that teams potential.
      Hey, at least they got that kicker situation sort of figured out.

Plus on offense you had Ricky Williams destroying the league rushing. With Chris Chambers as the best receiver. They started 5-1, but then Jay Fiedler got hurt and in came Ray Lucas. He tossed only 4 TDs to 6 ints and had a QB rating of 69. They ended up missing the playoffs

    I'm disappointed since Cousins is literally the definition of a QB who ruined his teams promising season. He had Diggs, Thielan, Cook, Rudolph and the defense is good and they couldn't even make the playoffs? How does Keenum have the same team and lead them to the NFC championship game but Cousins who signed for the most guaranteed money any QB had ever been offered can't even bring the Viqueens to the playoffs...
