I love how in Quake you don't get Double Damage or Triple Damage as a power up. YOU GET QUAD DAMAGE! Also, I really can't wait to get this game! I never got the chance to play the original Quake as a kid because I was poor & I didn't have a powerful gaming computer. :(

Well, he has no knowledge of strafe jumping, but it's nice to see IGN found someone that can aim. QC's December update will allow all of you non-strafe-jumpers a better chance at picking up items and getting into and out of combat, at least with certain champions.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'remake', but they're making another UT game and it's currently in beta. Also, I wouldn't consider this a remake of Quake, so it's a good thing they didn't call it 'Quake' but called it 'Quake Champions'.
Doom multiplayer doesn't feel like Doom. Doom is about killing demons not other players. It just doesn't feel the same for me. I enjoyed the game even the original 2 Doom games
Well, other games like Quake 1-3 had campaigns where you kill demons and a multiplayer which you could kill other players, not sure what's different here.
After DOOM 2016 I hope they make a sick singleplayer campaign too. Maybe way down the line, but I'd love a new one with the vibe of the original where it's dark and mystical rather than the sci-fi vibe of the sequel. All the maps so far could fit perfectly as sections of various levels.
All the levels so far in Champions are based of Lovecraftian gods. It's not as dark as the first game, but it's definitely mystical. I wouldn't expect a single player Quake title any time soon though. Being f2p this would probably just stick to multiplayer, and the next core Quake title will probably come years after just so the multiplayers don't compete with each other.
Needs better UI in my opinion but I'm hype to play this, doom is a awesome game and this might be a good way for me to get back in the shooting genre of games

Been playing since closed beta, and I'm loving it, but all indications are leading towards it having a player base the size of Lawbreakers (another awesome game, although Lawbreakers seems to have a sizably larger community due to its' PS4 presence) I imagine both will have longevity in spite of low player counts (though I wouldn't worry, since arena shooters are no stranger to low player counts: Quake was never as popular as most LAN party oldheads would have you believe: at its' absolute pinnacle, the original Quake only hit 2 million players total, and no Quake or Unreal game has been able to touch those numbers since, usually falling in the 1 million ballpark on their best day) but it looks like both games are proving that it's hard to sell most gamers on arena shooters that don't have the word 'Halo' in them, and even Halo's strayed pretty far from its' arena roots
I think Quake Champions will do better than Lawbreakers for a few reasons... One, Quake. Recognisable brand. Two, actually has character. Lawbreakers had a gritty aesthetic and... Did jackshit with it, everybody looks basically the same. Here, despite the irony that characters being recognisable ISN'T as big an issue in this as in Lawbreakers, everybody looks MUCH more distinct than anybody in Lawbreakers does. Three, actually has a decently low skill-floor with some characters.

More or less. The Rocket Launcher, Lightning Gun and Railgun have been most used weapons in recent Quake games. The Shotgun seems a little better this time around though.

The base speed is pretty fast, but with strafe/circle jumping and crouch sliding most characters can at least double their speed.
