It all sounds good if your speakers are, some levels not so much but some sounds can't be made better. It's like hearing a harp or something, just a different instrument all together on 8-bit sound.
When I next feel the need to run into battle, wielding a sword, and wearing only my pants, I'll be doing it with the Castle Gate theme playing in my head.

People are sleeping on Dark Guld's theme (26:27). It's a little surreal, which kind of fits the bossfight. You just went to his throneroom, which has someone who isn't Dark Guld in it. And then you're in a shiny room with mirrory tiles, his axe flies in out of nowhere, and he suddenly appears. Even his skeletons are the shiniest and whitest in the entire game. I think that battle takes place kind of outside reality.
You just can't keep a straight face during the intro when those speedo-wearing minotaurs get on screen. Awesome soundtrack, by the way. When I played this, I ALWAYS made the chicken leg dance to the Ruins' (10:47) song.
Fun fact: the drums in this soundtrack use a chip that's on the Genesis, but not on the Sega Nomad (the portable Genesis), so you couldn't play this game on the go.

Then again, this game hosts one of the best soundtracks on the Genny. Loved the galloping drumbeat on the boss battle theme too. Just amazing all around.
