  • Learn how to measure draw length easily and quickly! First thing first, don't trust height charts! Determining your draw length requires actual measurements of your wingspan then dividing by 2.5, but there's a lot more tips in this video to make sure your draw length is as accurate as possible! Side note: too long or too short of a draw length will negatively affect your accuracy so follow the instructions and let us know if you have any questions!

    As always informative and entertaining! I originally set up my Edge SB 1 using the 2.5 method. I found that I felt like I was stretching to keep it locked back. I shortened it 1/2",perfect.

    Y'all are funny as hell! Weird.. but honest funny. Just dropped a subscribe since I'm learning as a beginner compound use. Just got my 1st bow today from a busy for free. I got the Onieda Eagle 30-31 draw compound. 1st 5 shots were good for a beginner work quick release. 6th shot was free hand and got about 3x more power and distance. I lost the one apple I had though 😂😂😂😂😂

    So how did the “wing span” measurement compare to the “arrow draw” measurement?…which was more accurate?

    Do I need to take the length of the D-loop into consideration?

  • @OGcottoncandyrandy
    @OGcottoncandyrandy 7 лет назад +2

    Just by watching this I think my bow is set about a 1/2" too long for my draw, around 30% of the time the string is smacking my forearm on release and I think it's due to overdrawing forcing my arm more straight than it should be.

    • @TheSticksBrand
      @TheSticksBrand  7 лет назад +1

      That's definitely a sign of too long of a draw... if you can't bend that front arm, it's definitely too long! Glad we were able to help.

  • @rudyocasionjr4641
    @rudyocasionjr4641 7 лет назад +1

    I just upgraded to a Mission Ballistic 2.0 from my Infinite Edge Pro, would the draw length be the same on both bows? Also, have you tested the Ballistic?

    • @TheSticksBrand
      @TheSticksBrand  7 лет назад

      I have not tested the Ballistic, but Mission is a great manufacturer! They're Mathews "project".. The draw length will most likely not be the same. You will most definitely need to get the draw length reset by going into a pro shop. It's a very simple process and most pro shops are great about it

    What kind of bow do you recommend for adult beginner?

    • @TheSticksBrand
      @TheSticksBrand  7 лет назад +2

      That's a broad question! I started with an '08 Bowtech Guardian a few years ago I bought from a friend... I'm always on a tight budget so I typically go with used bows.. He already had the setup, so it cost me only $350 and I didn't have to buy anymore accessories. The brand/type of bow is not necessarily important for a beginner, but I will recommend a few manufacturers: Bowtech, Hoyt, Prime, Mathews, and Mission (owned by Mathews) - as far as dimensions and things to look for is the weight (I wish mine was lighter), and size.. some people like taller bows and some like shorter bows. What will you be hunting or what will you be using it for?

    • @TheSticksBrand
      @TheSticksBrand  6 лет назад

      Sounds like you should get a new bow and sell the one you have... unless if you're growing, just wait until you grow into it. Diamond makes an awesome bow that is easily adjustable for draw length. It's the Infinite Edge - check it out!

    Is the Hoyt Powermaxx RTS better than PSE Drive R ?

    • @TheSticksBrand
      @TheSticksBrand  7 лет назад

      I wish I could answer that for you, but I haven't shot either of those bows! Both Hoyt and PSE make great bows, so you can't go wrong with either. Just remember, the performance depends on the shooter, not the bow.

    Hey, I'm looking to get into archery I saw a compound bow on amazon it goes by the name of SAS Scorpii compound bow do you think that would be a good starter bow since I'm in a budget. Thanks in advance

    • @TheSticksBrand
      @TheSticksBrand  7 лет назад

      I've never shot that bow but for a first bow, it's going to work I'm sure. However, I would get a bow that is fully equipped like a packaged deal. I say this, because when you add a quiver, d-loop, stabilizer, sights/housing, rest, etc. it's going to add up and it's going to take a lot of time and effort to get all these things. So getting something like this would be more ideal: www.amazon.com/dp/B00RGAPEMQ/ref=twister_B00XREPQ4G?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
