I love light academia…but I love dark academia that little bit more 😍. A two bedroomed flat with a bedroom done in each style so that I could sleep where my mood takes me would be lovely!
I love the light academia look. It's how I decorated my bedroom a few years back without any idea of what it's called. Definitely a look I gravitate towards.
❤ the twist on light academia. The bust lamp would look amazing on a mirror base instead of the wood base. I'm one of those people who just has to customize everything I have! 😊 I haven't seen any of this style before, its much gentler on the spirit.
It would be fun to combine the two styles in a house. Dark Academia in the dining room, a bedroom, maybe the living room, and Light in the kitchen, a bedroom, and maybe a bathroom in each? That would make for a really interesting and welcoming home. I would enjoy a video about combining the elements of the two in the same room or in a studio apartment too.
I appreciate the effort of at least adding a mock-up. While the objects were all gorgeous, I suspect they are also quite expensive. What I would really love is to see someone decorating a real life room in a certain style. But the mock up is more effort than most make, so yay! ( I totally understand that you cannot buy all the stuff and keep redocarating for YT. Oh and your kitty is darling❤)
I love dark but the dust/white dog fur situation is real 😅 It's nice to see more of the light style. It is really pretty. I never really thought of buying a separate headboard, that is a good tip. I've got a new house to decorate (well old house, new to me) so will need to go back through previous videos to help decide whether to lean dark or light this time!

BUT--as an academic (maybe no longer teaching in academia, but fully immersed in academic thought and the kind of real-world style that I cherish about college towns, academic environments, etc.) --I actually go for neither. Give me mid-century modern all day all night, with interesting touches in unexpected places. ;)

I'll be having dark academia in my bedroom, with dark green walls, and light academia with white walls, colourful canvases and black door frames and skirting boards througout with black carpet and painted black vinyl throughout the flat
I only think of academia if it's an office or library, but that's just me. I am also kinda missing the wallpaper all the images had going on. Definitely prefer dark, the light version has this grandma sheek to it.

I like both styles. I would like to see the two styles mixed together. Certain pieces being dark and some being light in one room
