@@paolo-n2000 Dude I'm a big Gorman fan for years and he brings the Steve Gorman to the band for sure - wish he was there, and I agree it would sound "different" due to his original style & feel - but taking personal feelings out of it, there's no denying as a matter of fact that this dude is swinging the band pretty hard. At least that's what I'm hearing. Cheers.

However, think it's BS the Robinson bros think sooo little of Gorman, Ford and Colt they didn't want to include them. No hiding Chris and Rich want a BIGGER paycheck.

While I have my doubts they can get along for the length of the tour this video while not the Crows is proof positive that together they are way better then apart. This cover alone is the best thing they've since Sting Me.

Just like the almighty CRB & Magpie Salute were awesome in their own right, they weren't The Black Crowes. Neither is this. Glad the brothers are performing together, again, but this is no different then another KISS farewell tour ($$$$$$)
Well we know Johnny Colt and Steve Gorman ain't happenin', and I'm not sure how things are with them and Marc, but if at least Marc were there it would feel more like a Crowes reunion.
BTW, do you like to get paid for what you do for a living? The money grab thing gets so old.

True. But there's a lot of long term acts set up that way these days. One or two guys 'own' the brand - they hire employees. Not a terrible gig for the employees if the band is successful.
Guns N Roses reformed without Izzy Stradlin and Steve Adler. But when the band comes to town it's still called GNR. It's virtually impossible for a band to stay together forever. Too many personalities and egos clash over time. Just ask, Mr. Bill Wyman or whatever is currently touring under the name the "Allman Bros Band".

This is just the Robinson brothers with a band of session guys backing them. This isn't The Black Crowes

@@arthurbishop3173 The OP made a good joke seeing they were covering a Rolling Stones song, and were often stylistically compared to the Stones. Were the Stones "ripping off" the Faces, or vice versa? Just because someone is influenced by, or plays the same style of music as anyone else, doesn't mean they're ripping them off. That type of comment and belief is merely a false attempt at justifying a dislike for a particular artist. The Black Crowes have a whole library of good, original songs, not rip offs.

Without Steve Gorman on that drum kit, this ISN'T the Black Crowes....call it what it really is, The Robinson Reunion. Imagine seeing the Rolling Stones and all there was is Mick and Keith and the rest of the band are hired hands, no Charlie Watts. This is the same thing..... It's cool that the Robinson brothers are playing music together again, but this ISN'T the Black Crowes.
The Crowes Magic = Chris + Rich. Period. If you think any differently, you don’t understand the Crowes. Watch their Brothers of a Feather show. Some of their best stuff is Chris on vocals and Rich on his acoustic. It’s the songs as well that rise above the band.

mano1971music I get your point BUT....this band had 4 lead guitarists, 3 bass players, a couple keyboard players over the years and always sounded like The Black Crowes. I appreciate Gorman as a drummer but it will still sound like The Black Crowes without him.

I want to like it so bad. It definitely should not be called Black Crows! It's a insult to a lot of people. Its great if they want to play together again. If they called it something else it wouldnt be such a obvious cash grab. If you listen to Gormans side its disgusting. No doubt Chris has lead singer disease. Shame, he has always been a favorite and has one of the best R&B voices EVER!

Some of their best stuff is Chris on vocals and Rich on his acoustic. It’s the songs as well that rise above the band. There are only a few bands - Led Zep, The Who - for example where each member had a signature sound/style. The Crowes are not one of those. Their power came from the Two Brothers.

Mickey B it was understood right from day 1 that Ann and Nancy were Heart and they had their band. The Black Crowes were a BAND in the beginning. The brothers didn’t assert themselves as the focal point from there beginning... the Black Crowes were the group! They only came to the forefront of attention when the fighting took over from the music

Jeff Cease is irrelevant, and Johnny Colt hasn't been in the band since he quit over 20 years ago. Gorman? Yeah, he's important, I'll grant you. But he doesn't want to be a part of this anyway. So I doubt he feels insulted at all.

Chris Robinson- “It’s about the rock n roll” Um no it’s not. If that was true, the last BC show wouldn’t have been in SF in’13. To play this Stones song is ironic given the request by Don Ienner during the By Your Side sessions. This isn’t a band it’s a GROUP.
Chris can sing OK. But. Lack luster Rich trying to play Keith Richards is really Bad !!! Copy cat’s. It s a Cover Band. And not a good one.
Been a Crowes fan since the beginning. I don't know. I must be hearing something different from the rest of you cuz this isn't that great at all. Sounds muddy, hazy and flat. If you told me back in the early 90's that Chris and Rich would shun Steve and to an extent Marc Ford for a 30th anniversary reunion cash grab tour, I woulda told you you were crazy. I bet if Eddie Harsch were alive he wouldn't of gotten a phone call either. I still love their music but as human beings they are less than desireable. And this sound right here in my opinion is less than desireable. Maybe they will heat up by the time they get to my neck of the woods in September and I'll decide to go but if I just based my decision on principle alone there is no fucking way I'd give these guys my money so they can get out of the financial corner they have painted themselves into. They wouldn't even be in those corners if they, Chris especially had some integrity and morals and did the right thing and kept the band together in the first place.
David Duke this sounds so bad because it’s recorded on a phone. Check out the videos of them playing on Howard Stern they sound a lot better.

Steve Gorman was key to the group as well. Can't blame the hired hands for accepting the gig here, but it seems like Chris and Rich paired up again primarily because of alimony and other personal bills were mounting. This tour is getting mass publicity which means they are fully ensigned onto the NWO media/Hollyweird program. Despite the song title, It's actually about more than just about the rock and roll. So be it.
Montag Alexis I get that but Steve Gorman didn’t write the lyrics or the guitar riffs. I want Gorman and even Marc Ford in there too but at the end of the day..who wrote the fucking songs? lol. People need to get over it and just enjoy what could be the last chance to see Brothers Robinson together.
