i upgraded my ipad 9 + m1 mac mini 16gb combo to a macbook pro 14 m3 pro 36gb 12c-18c and the difference of speed and convenience is crazy. sold the ipad for an xbox series s lol.
A set of four Michelin sport tires for an SUV costs over $1500 _at Walmart_ . And if one drives a lot you need to buy those every two years. A MacBook Pro is cheap by comparison, and it can last you for many more years. People harp needlessly long about computer prices.
Micro Center has a sale 1,700 for this model so I snatched it up in Silver. Tried the Resident Evils and they all look gorgeous. I tried CrossOver and was hyped because Steam and Ubisoft Work fine but the DX12 games all seem to error out. Its not user friendly enough but were getting there. Im gonna try Linux for gamming but I love that MACS have way more granularity over permissions. Remember the reason our Windows machines are so cheap is because you give away all your privacy and rights. I hope MAC and Linux keep taking more and more of the market.
In India story is bit different why it makes sense to buy M3 pro, M2 Air 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD ~ $1200 M2 Air 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD ~ $1950 ( Yeah that is right, it's insane but it's what it's 😟) So instead, i can get this beast with 18GB Ram, 512 SSD, 11 CPU, insane 14 GPU for ~ $1999 (if brought from USA) That is why, either settle with base M2 air ( Which i feel is not future proof, specially given how these ai models requiring insane data & compute ) & if want to upgrade, then get M3 pro from US with same amount :)
Deciding to upgrade my M1 air to this since I’ve ran into a few issues with 8 gigs, going to the store later to check out the black color and make my purchase! (I’m scared the black will be very finger print prone so that’s gonna be my deciding factor on which color)
I have an older Macbook Pro with Intel processor. When I want to game, I attach an external GPU box over Thunderbolt for a huge boost in graphics performance. And I can run Windows software perfectly, using Boot Camp. The latest Macs with M2 or M3 cannot use eGPU, and cannot run Windows software properly. Very sad.
I have a m3 pro MacBook Pro 18gb and it's the best choice I have made I had got the 8gb and you feel the difference. But the 8gb is amazing as well for regular use.

Or go with the base M3 pro
A difference of 200$, my opinion, M3 pro base variant is way better. If you plan on keeping the laptop for 3 years or more , 200$ won't make a difference.
i love how you're literally holding a MacBook in almost 90% of the A-roll shots. also, i really wish for gaming on the Mac to take off. Genshin Impact and Call of Duty Mobile are great titles i wish to explore on the larger screen as well.
