Framed is such a stunning design and you have done a beautiful job 😊 I am originally a quilter and this design speak to me a lot! It is always a pleasure to watch your episodes on a Thursday night for me while I knit 😊
Kaci, sending lots of well wishes to your family. You're a trooper for always showing up. I love your framed sweater, and I'm so glad you mentioned changing colors as an idea you had but didn't come to fruition because I was thinking about it and also worried it wouldn't work. Thank you for the time, Kimberly
I imagine it is so satisfying to be working through your fabric stash and making items you love/ that fit well on top of it all! Go you! 😊 After a six month making slump you have been motivating me to work through my sewing and knitting WIPs before my fifth baby arrives in October. Plus now I want to make 3 Hinterland dresses for nursing postpartum!
Really enjoy sitting and sitting along with you. Your dress is beautiful. Seeing your makes is giving me the itch to sew garments again. I vote the purple.
Love the podcast, especially the snippets where you’re knitting to music! Your Framed sweater is gorgeous and I value your honest opinions on the design
LisaR: Didn't realize Id been smiling the entire time til "Bacall" :) The sewing projects -Hit all the buttons- (right fabric perfect weight , drape ,color &of course pattern/ fit :) Your outfits came together beautifully . The photos are super - very photogenic! The jumper: piece I'm happy to see back in modern iteration! Lots of potential- I had similar made in many fabrics for every season and occasion . Linens , light denim , twill , light woolen with a half lining , satin , silk , lightweight stretchy velveteen , baby corduroy... Oh my ! I wish you continued success in living a creative life . Keep your candle burning bright ,light one end❤
You did such a wonderful job knititng the framed sweater. I just bought the pattern and I have my fingers crossed that I can actually knit an all over colorwork sweater. So glad to see that you are feeling better and that your family is recovering 💖🙏🏼
Your Framed is fabulous. Love all your linen makes too. Lovely knitting with you, as usual! Making the Turtle Dove cardi for my daughter’s 50th- a fun knit for a great kid (yes- still my kid at 50- always will be). 😊
your Framed sweater is jaw dropping! absolutely drooling over the rust hem color!😮💨🧶 sending love to your family in recovery! while watching I am knitting on my sock for knitty natty’s sock week with a gorgeous indie hand dyed yarn! 🥰
Woww the framed sweater is amazing! I can’t imagine how much time you put into it. It really pays off! I love the color choices. I also love how your Colette top looks! What a wonderful color
The framed sweater is beautiful and you did a great job. I love watching you because you are so positive and are tempting me to start sewing again. I also love linen. The Framed sweater will be above my ability level and very heavy for me to get enough use out of, but I loved seeing the yarn for Collette Vest since I’m thinking of the Collette T. Thanks so much, I hope you are all feeling better and I agree with the comment about Hillbilly Elegy, it was a very well done film.
I hope you and your family get a respite from the sickness, it sounds horrible! I'm currently suffering from a summer cold but knitting my book club cardigan is keeping me occupied. Your Rhinebeck sweater is so gorgeous!
Your Rhinebeck Sweater looks amazing!! I love to see all those Framed versions, it's an amazing design. I will definitiely also turn back to this episode when I will start on it 😍
Your sweater is beautiful! And I love the gorgeous yarn acquisitions. It’s so funny. My husband and I have just finished watching all the seasons of Monk. We love that show. Hope to see another Virgin River season soon. If you haven’t seen Hillbilly Elegy, the J. D. Vance memoir directed by Ron Howard, I recommend it highly. It’s very good. A bit rough on language, but realistic of his upbringing. Glad you’re feeling better! Hope all will be well soon! Knit on! I enjoy your podcasts so much!
Framed is absolutely beautiful ❤️ and I love the colors you used. I'm currently working on the Petite knit zipper sweater for me and Moby sweater for my twins but I think imma cast this one on too! It'll be my first attempt at color work.
Thank you Kaci, the framed sweater turned out so nice. Your sewing is very professional i love linen just need to find some patterns. I would use the lighter color for your Felix pullover. 😊
HI Kaci. Loved your mod on the arm holes - very neat compared to the double knitting - will use. You looked great in the bibbed outfit - love it on you. Get well ohhh and nice to see hubby. He has a clever, creative wife! (he knows 😝
Wiksten shift dress looks stunning on you! And the color suits you so well, which makes me a bit envious since yellow just really makes me look like a sick and sad person😅 but on you it really shines together with you🌞hope you feel fully recovered soon🪷🙏🏼
@@YoungfolkKnits yes you are right, probably a very cool one with white would work for summer. But still, I would not gravitate towards it when picking something to actually wear. Yellow pants and yellow shoes maybe, or yellow with a white shirt under it could work. Or: I just really enjoy the color on other people😉
That was a great episode. You know almost every summer I knit less. It just happens. Andrea Mowry’s new quilt sweater is gorgeous but it would be way too warm for me. I would love it in a lighter yarn. I very rarely wear worsted wool . Portland Oregon just doesn’t get cold enough for worsted or heavier.
THANK YOU for the tip about the double knitted bands. I have not been happy with my double knitted arm bands/button bands and will be doing a folded over hem on future projects! It also killlls my hands so I’ve been avoiding basically all cardigans 😂
Beautiful Framed sweater and great color choice for the Colette top! I love all your linen choices, definitely inspiring me to start sewing a pair of linen pants for myself. Where did you purchase your Knit Notes notebook from? I need one of those in my life😊. Thanks for a wonderful podcast again.
Did you know that Sewhouse Seven is a Portland Oregon pattern designer. Her patterns are named after Portland landmarks. Burnside is a major street in Portland the Burnside Bridge is the oldest bridge over the Willamette which bisects the city. Just a fun fact.
i also knit color two handed and am working on my frame right now! do you have any tips for how you approach color dominance when knitting colorwork flat?
Try out Louise Penny’s Three Pines Series for great audiobooks. The first is called Still Life. I started watching your channel for the knitting but you’re tempting me to get my sewing machine dusted off with all your linen creations! We seem to have a similar sense of style and also very similar body shape so I love seeing your finished garments on you. Simply stunning!
Kaci….. quick question…. Who is singing the song about “the welcome of the dawn”?…. Can’t see it in the show notes….. but loved it …. Hope you have time to share … thanks Steph
I just got the Framed pattern. It will be the first time I have done color work flat. Do you think a swatch in the chart would be a good idea? I also live in Arkansas. Are you and Becky doing the Yarn crawl? My friend Crystal and I are doing some of the shops tomorrow
Curious, in past episodes you shared that one of the reasons you weren’t fond of sewing was because of the hassle of getting the machine & accessories out and having to put it all back. Have you gotten used to it or did you find a dedicated space for your sewing adventures?
