I personally had doubts, because Robin Williams was AMAZING, and I feel like no one can top that. 🙌🙌 But I have to say that Will Smith did an amazing job, my kids loved it. He gave it his own flavor, signature, and I found myself enjoying the movie and not comparing them at all.

He was very aware of the fact that Robin Williams was an amazing Genie and he couldn't match his version. He did his own thing and didn't even attempt to copy Robin Williams version and you can tell he has respect for him and wanted to honor him by doing a good job. Which added pressure.
When I heard about the remake I was expecting one of the Genies from the broadway show to take the part because that way there wouldn't be any worry about someone trying to remake Robin Williams Genie. He did his thing and I knew based on the previews he was doing a Fresh Prince thing which seems to have worked in his favor so happy that this choice worked out.
I'm dying of laughter at Will Smith's impression of Ellen holding in her cough.

Classy Villain the role was actually initially shaped around robin william’s personality, robin wasn’t going to take the role at first however. but the genie was inspired by robin, his personality and his stand up comedies.

Wow that’s awesome the movie is epic the songs are breaking through the roof best of the classic and modern combined with Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Istanbul, Turkey Cairo, Egypt, Rabat, Morocco Islamabad, Pakistan, Tehran, Iran and New Delhi, India the dances were awesome nailed every song including the Genie’s song that was 10/10.
