Hard to say what I enjoyed more... the prospecting, or Timber's guest appearance! Give him a scratch behind the ears for leading you to that "bonanza"!
I have a hard time panning the small stuff in my Super Sluice. I am a amateur though so I pan in a smaller pan and go slow. Love seeing it in that pan. Glad Timber didn't get skunked!😊
🙌Yes!!!! 🤙 I saw your video in my feed. Got wide eyed 😳checked when it was posted and saw 40 mins ago! And I got so excited and it's a video of prospecting Colorado! Made my night. Love your videos man. 👍
You are absolutely right, unless you live within walking distance of a gold bearing river, the price of getting there is more than the gold you find IF all you are doing is finding the flood gold. Get up in some crevices WITH a metal detector and you have a better chance of pickers, get a few of those and it pays for your gas. However, making money is not the point. As I took my son and daughter up to the gold country near where I live in California, I said we may or may NOT find gold. Well, we found gold, I taught them how to pan for gold, there was swimming in the river with the trout, while the temperatures were over 100 degrees. A nice day with the kids, a nice day out on the river and they were excited to find gold for the fist time.
Great work and great video! It’s not about the gold it’s about being in nature and enjoying yourself, the gold is just our excuse and tangible memory of the experience! Keep at it
Nice! I was surprised with the crevices also. Thank you Klesh. My oldest son has recently moved out to Colo. So I will finally be back trying out the places my dad would take me to. Have a great weekend!
Great to see some wild gold out there. I don’t like going under them rocks just in case you find a big ass spider lol. Remember eye protection when hitting rocks please. Great work Shane.
The reason was the piece was rough and sharp, unlike any gold I've ever found in Colorado. It was very similar to the gold I was finding in Victoria Australia. It threw me completely off, and it won't happen again that's for sure !
Well..!! It’s always great to be able to get out into the wild and look for Gold.. I just come back from a Three weeks Gold Detecting for about 6 grams of gold including Gold Specimens.. Be putting up videos soon. Cheers Famo59.👍🍻⛏️
The reason I missed that piece of gold was because of how sharp and wirey it was, I only ever find smooth flat gold here in Colorado and I completely dismissed that little chunker
After getting the shot in the arm from your paydirt. I did find gold in the Colorado River! It was tiny specks that will require a bunch to be weighed. But enough to make me happy I found it.
I'm heading over to site A34 in Kevin's second book tomorrow just to do some sampling and maybe a little slucing. If I can get a tenth of a gram out of 5-6 buckets I'm happy. If I get nothing, I'm still happy!
Not many got rich with a pan. Panning was used to locate the loads that were mined and test placer deposits for value before mining with a dredging or excavating the area.
I had it in my truck, but the spoon and brush were still my best option for this sticky crevice material. *vacuum would be OK for the loose sandy material around the rocks
This was a good watch. I would have been happy to help you find this gold but petting your dog may have distracted me making you do most of the work. I love dogs for sure and mine is definitely gold. I look forward to your next adventure and yes I always watch to the end.
I have two different portable vacuums, one is battery (milwaukee, used in my NYC diamond district prospecting series), and a Gas powered one, from a video years ago in the DIY build video. Problem is with these crevices, the material is still slightly wet and like clay, so not only would the material not get sucked up (it's all stuck to the rocks) it also would plug the vacuums, and I'd be spending the entire day attempting to clean them out/keep them running. Trust me, unless the material was bone dry, the best way is using a brush and spoon. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
We're blessed to live in the Golden area. It's like fly fishing. Most people catch and release. What's the point? The thrill of the chase! Nothing like sitting in a creek and digging holes and playing with water soaking up negative ions to offset life (*then finishing the day at New Terrain!). Hey, what breed of dog is Timber? Do you know a local breeder? Thanks for documenting your adventures for us. Filming and editing alone is tons of work. 🥵
Shane, how's it going? I got a 'kinda dumb' question for ya, but you know the saying: 'the best question is the one ya don't ask' or something like that, lol. Anyway... does the temperature of the water you use to pan out your cons (we talking in a backyard or home panning station) have any bearing on the results? I mean, panning at a river, you have no real control over the temp, but at home, you can use cold water or warm water. Was wondering. Thank you in advance.
In the winter I like to use warm water to keep my hands from freezing up. Frozen hands make it more challenging to pan, so yes I'd say it does have a bearing on the results.
Back in the old days they would toss LEAD SHOT in at high Water and then look for it at low water they knew where the gold would be when they found the SHOT

Anyone thar thinks they are going to strike it rich in Colorado prospecting for gold is a total nut job! Hobby prospecting it just that just to have fun! To get out doors and just injoy the time in nature!
Thanks for the big shoutout about my guidebooks!!
Of course!!
I have it Kevin and enjoyed my Visit to the Museum !!
I share your philosophy on geocaching. It’s not about the find, it’s about enjoying the outdoors. Thx for another great video!!
Absolutely, unless it's a 1/5 and really need to get your hands on it 😆
Hard to say what I enjoyed more... the prospecting, or Timber's guest appearance! Give him a scratch behind the ears for leading you to that "bonanza"!
Got it done ✅

Klesh back out an getting stoked on finding color from the creek again!! also Kevin's book is the bible for Colorado prospecting!
Finding gold is just a plus. I love getting out and enjoying the mountains here in Washington.
Thanks for such a great attitude buddy😄🙏
Great video Shane. Thank you.
Thanks!

This type of video is fun. Just like the sidewalk sniping.
i would love to see another sidewalk video! i always miss out on buying some haha
More sidewalks will be cleaned 🧹
I love sidewalk sniping
Another good old Klesh prospecting video.
Nice to see you again, Shane.
Welcome back!
A feller just want to enjoy the journey, that's living !!! Blessings buddy !
Great work and great video! It’s not about the gold it’s about being in nature and enjoying yourself, the gold is just our excuse and tangible memory of the experience! Keep at it
Awesome find.
I'm up north in the cache la poudre drainage. You've got a lot more gold down there...
It’s the thrill of finding it more than anything else. I found gold on the back side of Mount Charleston outside of Las Vegas one year.
I was literally thinking the other day that we haven't seen you out and about for a while. Nice to see you in nature again finding the gold stuff.
Nice! I was surprised with the crevices also. Thank you Klesh. My oldest son has recently moved out to Colo. So I will finally be back trying out the places my dad would take me to. Have a great weekend!

Its a great adventure. Enjoy mother nature and companionship. Keep on trucking
You need to bring a portable car vacuum to get that crevice dirt lol
I love these types of videos man.
Great day in my books. True, it's the adventure not the amount of gold you get. Well done
Man I know others have said something but I feel absolutely compelled to say AWWWWWWW!!! You sir have an adorable pup/goldhound!
Thanks 🙏
The experience and memories pay dividends 🗻
I been watching you since I was 6❤
Shane! You were killing me when you let that flake go.. I was pretty much yelling at my phone "nooooo that's gold!!!" 😂
The reason was the piece was rough and sharp, unlike any gold I've ever found in Colorado. It was very similar to the gold I was finding in Victoria Australia. It threw me completely off, and it won't happen again that's for sure !
Better get back to that spot soon, nice find.
Awesome...thanks for the video. Just interesting to see what's there.
Love prospecting videos and when you go to garage sales!
Love this... this is my truith... I enjoy prospecting.

Hey Tony Congrats ! ⛏⛏
This was very cool man would love to see you out on more adventures like this, really cool to watch
Thanks and now over 600 treasure hunting videos on this channel and more to come 👍⛏
@@Klesh no worry’s, prefer to see you blank and see a proper experience than see 70% of people probably planting stuff for likes
Another great video Shane
when you find it its always worth any amount of time!!!
I’ve watched so many of your videos that when you said that piece wasn’t gold I was mad at you 😂 you’ve taught us well
The reason I missed that piece of gold was because of how sharp and wirey it was, I only ever find smooth flat gold here in Colorado and I completely dismissed that little chunker

In crusty rusty we trust!
We are about 100 years to late to get rich panning for gold, just to find a small grain is enough to feel like you have struck it rich.
Not many got rich with a pan. Panning was used to locate the loads that were mined and test placer deposits for value before mining with a dredging or excavating the area.

42% baby. thx for the video
Looking very viking with the beard and long hair combo! Nice!
Thanks!
Should have brought your portable vac that you used in New York. Clean out those crevices. Can be a lot to ruck in though.
Awesome as always Shane!
🍻
I had it in my truck, but the spoon and brush were still my best option for this sticky crevice material. *vacuum would be OK for the loose sandy material around the rocks

I can do that for ya on the kleshguitars channel buddy⛏⛏

Ya need that flower gold Wizards header for your vdr sluice
Hey thanks I'll have to check it out
Hey Klesh, you should invest in a mini shaker table. They're great!
You should bring a battery powered vacuum cleaner out there for the crevices! Great video
Not a bad idea, only problem is the battery powered one is not great at grabbing wet clumpy material
relaxing
Would be nice if you hit that spot again!
Awesome job. 😊
Nice
Very nice!
My only complaint is that you didn't explain what jet dry was for! Love that you're uploading again!

😎 cool Prospecting Klesh 👍
Good gold😎
LOL your dog cracks me up
Me too
Didn’t see any quartz. Looked more like degraded silica, the matrix rock where quartz crystals can grow. 🤠
👍👍 nice vid and cool shirt!
Hey Ross got that right 🤘⛏
Yeah, don't lose another classifier lol. Good stuff. Making me miss Colorado.
That sucked, happened years ago and I still hate thinking about it 😆
now that timber has an idea on finding some gold maybe he will find a quartz outcrop riddled with it.☺
Your puppy is like mine she will follow me metal detecting and when I get a signal and stop at starts digging it’s the funniest thing
That's funny 😄
Need to get you a vac-pak brother. Awesome for cleaning out crevices
I have two different portable vacuums, but this material is too sticky for them to be of any help. Spoon and a brush are my best options here.
Whoop whoop 42%
Nice shiny brother liberate all gold
Klesh i think what you need is a battery operated vaccuum for your dry creek crevices! Love the vidoes, only wished i lived in a gold bearing area!

Timber is a Rat Terrier, perfect size little friend 👍
You have such an awesome and cool dog. Was the first dig above or below the crevices That could explain finding the gold someplace else.
First dig was in a different area altogether, thanks yes he's a good dog 🐕
Enjoyed the content and always do, let the haters hate and keep up the great work Klesh👍🙏...
Hey hey 1st comment Go Klesh glad to see some videos after the short break! God speed!
Thanks! No breaks, just the algorithm not notifying people again.
Where is your broom for cleaning the rock off and getting the fines in the hole lol ?
That's awesome anyway
Your pooch. Bless him

Great day out there getting that Au fam. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠

You still need to look me up next time in Alaska. We will put you on the gold.
I've only been prospecting in a few locations (placer and hard rock) in AK, always open to new spots to find some gold
It all about getting outdoors. Are you going to get rich probably not...but you'll have fun trying
Wondering why he puts the jetdry in 😂😂😂
That dog needs to work on his gold sniffing.
Love the videos!
Back in the old days they would toss LEAD SHOT in at high Water and then look for it at low water they knew where the gold would be when they found the SHOT
Is it too late to get more creek sand
Definitely not too late. I go up there in the middle of winter even L O L nothing stops me
How the heck did you get back to the panning station so fast!?
All I do is snap my fingers. Doesn't everyone?
