and also the guy with the black 180/s13 hybrid was taking the corners a lot faster than the evo was which again was impressive due to those wheels having so little traction and his car being rwd, I love watching vids like this seeing these people drift their rc cars like this is just so cool
It's all about tuning on 2wd. The right weight balance on the rear will give u enough traction to launch. Have a lock diff with an FR close to 7. I am running the highest 7.8 on my FXXD. I give some serious time to cs guys here at our local track...but on the straights yes they have the advantage...
Hello Max. The video about thar machine was filmed last monday and now I need edit the video. The upper and lower is "A" arm for Yokomo drift package C type, but is not a yokomo product. Maybe you know, many RC parts manufacturers produce parts for Yokomo, Tamiya, Alex racing (CE-R), etc...That front lower is a "Yeah Racing" aluminium arm for Yokomo. He enlarge the hole for shaft of that lower suspention shaft, because Yokomo use 2.5mm shaft and R31 use 3.0mm.
Answering the question from "aznpulse": "I just started converting R31 to RWD. I'd like to know a bit more information about the blue part that holds the pins for the top A arm. I have Yokomo Type C top A arms but don't know how the suspension pins are being held up. " Answer: It's a Tamiya M05 chassis parts (OP1192 M05). You need enlarge the 2 holes to fix (3mm drill)
I don't know. Is not mine. Maybe he using Vertex 02 or Eagle Hard. Front is HRC...maybe. When I run that carpet circuit using Yokomo Drift Package, I use Eagle Drift tires Hard, front and rear same tires.
Good question...I have shaft drive RWD and is very good. But many people convert belt drive 4wd RCs to RWD and they had good results using Yokomo DRB, Street Jam R31, TA05, Enroute JXR...
no i have both drift cars awd and 2w i think aw is harder 2w has so much more angle and has 2wd to help the rear move quicker aound trust me 4wd drifting is hard
Dude! Fantastic! That is the kind of Info Im talking About!!! Im already looking into that Yeah Racing Part I cant wait To See the video. Thanks Alot Man
Front motor RC, the front is heavy and I put weight in rear, and rear motor RC (Yokomo DP) , the rear is heavy and I put weight in front (around 60 grams).
Oi. O meu Yokomo e' a carda e o motor fica atras.
what surface were you drifting on. what kind of rug is it. I'm starting a drifting club and need the write surface. The tile at my school has a lot of dust and hair. Pleas respond
Wow! That would be GRRREAT! I Know Rwd drifting would take lots of practise but it just couldnt be done without the right setup. I have a few friends in the U.S. that would like to start Rwd drifting after seeing it done on youtube but are afraid of going about it without knowing how to set up a chassis. If you were to show me i would be sure to spread the word on how it is done.It would OPEN UP A WHOLE NEW WORLD here in the US. With the owners permission.
no not that complex you just have to let go of throttle and throttle faster when you need to make the drift longer, you let go of throttle when you are about to spin out, you should play carx mobile 2 with no sterring assistant and arrows and you will get the hang of it because that is almost identical to rwd on rc cars
For some reason the RWD seems to be drifting at a higher rate of speed than the AWD but on the strait the AWD leaves the RWD in the dust. We all know the reason why, so if you want to be fair the 2WD car has a way better driver.
Drifting looks way more realistic that rc racing as well. I can‘t stand the unrealistic acceleration and grip levels of regular RC races. 1:5 & 1:10 drifting, and 1:43 Sturmkind Dr!ft are the only interesting ones, for me.
I already seen his setup through this video but i cant tell What kind of upper and lower arms those are, front and back. It seems like some custom work too for the steering. Maybe he put the info of his build a forum what he did But its probably in japanese. if you could send me that kind of info IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC! Do you Drift RC Cars? Your Basic English is Very Understandable to me!! I speak Spanish and was able to tell some of your Portuguese.
+이건 I think the 2WD is more realistic and stable. Also 4WD is fun , I practiced 4wd for several years and 3 year with 2WD and my answer is : I prefer 2WD .
just tried rwd a couple of days ago and observed the same rwd is absolut more realistic compared to a real rwd car in terms of angle and controlability in drifting but fore me as an example going from 4wd witch is more forgiving and easyer for beguinner in drifring to control as i am beguinner at the moment just to clarify that... to switch over from 4wd to rwd is not extreamly complicated but needed a cuple of minutes to adjust to the cars different behavior so its absolut posible for beguinners to start right away with rwd as the most important part is to learn your own car and its behavior and tweek the setup after your own preference. note tho im NOT telling 4wd is not realistic as ther is 4wd drifters in 1:1 scale cars and im seen cuple of them going just as hard and with angle as rwd cars but its differences between rwd and 4wd in terms of contol and feel of the car.
That is one of the best descriptions that I have ever heard, What it all boils down to is what you have the most fun with, some want realism, some want difficulty, some it's just for the set-up, whatever you drift best and enjoy the most, is the best choice for you, just like Di'ing vinyl or MP4
Hello Max Novo. That R31 is not mine, but every week I meet the owner (I met with him today also). I will ask to him about setting of that car. Maybe make a special video about that machine, with my bad english!Haha! I speak just basic English...I'm brazilian, live in Japan many years...Wait a few days until I record the video. OK?
hey I've had a exceed drift rc for a while now and I am wondering if it is worth converting to rwd or should I sell it and get a rwd? where can I find a guide on conversion please thank you
i think one of the reasons that the RWD car drifts at shallow angle is to hold back and trying not to hit the CS car in the front. fyi, RWD cars can run really fast, it can also drift at great angle but to do it you need high speed. don't forget that most RWD car has enormous steering lock angle, and many can turn 90 degrees. i'm saying this because mine's RWD too. and none of my friends' cs cars can keep up. so most of the time i was the one that hold back when chasing, and slows down when leading.
I don't understand !. 4WD should have a significant advantage over RWD, but it doesn't seems to be that way. What happens ?. Can someone explain me, please ?
The 4wd drive does have an advantage. U can tell when u use the both of them 4wd just turn and ur drifting 2wd just turn and all ur doing is shitty donuts
Oi Tuba, não sou eu pilotando. São dois amigos japoneses que sempre correm comigo. Estou começando agora no 2WD. Ja' estou pegando as manhas, mas ainda o carro esta sem os ajustes ideais. Diferente do 4wd, o 2wd e' muito sensível a cada modificação do setting do carro.
Hey thats some serious control for RWD, And the fastest speed ive ever seen for RWD !!! 2wd is more realistic. It has good turning and drifting, while 4wd is not like drifting, its just power sliding like Ken Block. 4wd is slow in corners and ugly in turning. 2wd for the win
I think you are not really into rc drifting. 4WD CS setups is a more stable platform comparing to the new trending FR-D setups. FR is very prone to spinouts due to the fact you cannot really scale down the weight distribution of 1:1 scale to 1:10. Hence, you need a D-box/gyro to drift in RWD to make it stable.
That's probably the best rc drift battle I've seen on RUclips, great video, 2WD does somehow look more realistic than 4WD
The DRB got sideways sooner and with more angle but still, that was great driving for the 2wd car! Awesome skill!
Whoever's drifting the rwd car is fucking good!
@Mark Lincoln 😂
and also the guy with the black 180/s13 hybrid was taking the corners a lot faster than the evo was which again was impressive due to those wheels having so little traction and his car being rwd, I love watching vids like this seeing these people drift their rc cars like this is just so cool
This is one of my favorite videos!
Now that I do RWD,
CS cars look like old fashioned 4wd
bluestar4u it's easier to drift in 4wd/AWD but they keep it rwd for fair competition
bluestar4u old but gold

I kind of prefer 4wd actually but in real life drifting is in rwd

ArcticCatStakston Draw-Kendama-Guitar nah, because blowing front diffs

how many CS have the DRB?
Opa, e para pilotar os 2wd no drift vces usam alguma ajuda pro carro não rodar, como aquelea acelerometros?
Is Yamada running a Gyro in this? I can't see one on the chassis, nor do you ever see the gyro twitch on weight shifts. If he is using one, what make?
He uses KDS800 gyro.
Thanks man, you got me back on FB lol, but great job on keeping up with your fans haha!! Can't wait for the DP 2017!!!
rwd driver = BOSS!
That why i love the evo its good at everything. You can put an engine from a boat and you can drive on the water.
Awd rc cars for street cars locked diff front or back diferencial?
*Front* but for touring
i have 4wd drifr car and changed it to rwd and man its hard
put alot of weight at the back stack your 2 battarys and lock your rear diff. try that out I'm going to tomorrow.
+Perry Shawana if u have one battery?
Do you have angle mods
You’d probably want a gyro on it too
You wear the same tire front to rear? And what have you?
THANKS
Try hpi vintage drift tires, they are amazing for 2wd on polished floors. I need to find some similar tires in normal wish and size.
Is it recommended to have the rear heavier than the front?
What’s the best rc motor right now I still have a thunder tiger super 17 my rc a sparrow hawk VX I believe 4wd body a 350z
Does it matter if I don't have this massive steering?
It's good to have with 2wd, but 4wd doesn't need that much angle
I know this video is old but is the red eco using a gyro?
Red evo don't use gyro.
i mean i know drifting is slower than grip but for rc drifting dang they're MOVING
