    ⚡ 💕 / 🕉 ☮
"Shanti Shanti, Prana of living beings
    Shanti Shanti, Chakra blooming life
Shanti Shanti, Samsara of living beings
Shanti Shanti, Karma, be in high spirits"
    (-Shanti Shanti Shanti)
It's great that Su has an opportunity for some vocal pyrotechnics on this one.
And I'm sure they loved learning this choreography.
Moa mentioned in an interview that the hand gestures were pretty challenging to begin with.
It's very different from the style of dance they were used to.
The musical influences on the third album, 'Metal Galaxy' are really diverse.
It's clear they approached all of their international fusions with an attitude of respect, which makes all the difference in the world.

Cool to see you around Joel. Keep enjoying anything you got left from BM.
Also you can check it out new proshot version from latest concerts at "The Foxhole" and "For The Fox God".
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

I do like the track - but imo they made a real dogs dinner of this video (like quite a bit of the "official" stuff - often missing intros etc) - I don't watch Babymetal to sit there looking at kaliedascope effects - it's hard enough in most of their official videos to get to see anything for more than a few seconds often - and this track in particular I wanted to see the choreography for obvious reasons. I guess I got it - multiplied by about 8 :( Hopefully they fired their video editor :P Live I'd assume has to be hugely better - but I'd like to see them starting to release static camera stuff alongside the usual videos trying to show how nuch energy they have - the footage must be there - and would be negligible to put on the concert DVDs. Good reaction anyway!

Great reaction! I believe this video is live footage with editing + studio audio. You should check out an actual live on your own, with the live audio from the Kami Band, much better!

This song is another one that shows that Baby Metal is a true multi-genre group. This video is quite authentic as respects the Indian influence and has been highly regarded by all of the Indian reactors, who were shocked at how well it was done. A prominent Indian choreographer who is also a reactor gave the dance routines very high marks for its authenticity, especially the hand movements of Moa and Kano. Shanti Shanti Shanti was the first time she had ever had reacted to Baby Metal and now does reactions to them on a regular basis.

One of the things I love most about Suzuka Nakamoto, is that she repeatedly learns a completely new style of singing just to make one song like this one or BxMxC. She loves what she is doing and it shows clearly in live performances.

    • @mikeat2637
      @mikeat2637 6 месяцев назад

I have to say in making BxMxC she made herself the top rapper on the planet because she wove actual singing and musical forms into it. No one else does that in such a perfect manner.

This was footage with Avenger Kano Fujhira who was the youngest of the 3 avengers (like 14-15 yes old here) . She only performed in Japan and last performed in January 2020 (4 years ago.. wow) . She has been with some J Pop group since then called Onefive.

Nice reaction. Welcome back to the foxhole. Moa said the choreography for this was the hardest they had done at the time. Because it was so heavily influenced by Hinde area of the world where hand position is very important. Normally what they were doing with their hands wasn't important at all. Leaving Moa to be kawaii with her hands. Making heart shapes and fist pumps to the crowd. Here to make the tribute to the area they had to do it correctly. And came through perfectly. This song also show cases Su's vocal skills as hitting those semitones isn't so easy. This video they got carried away with the kaleidoscope effect. It was hard to tell that during the break in the song they did a synchronized dance to it. Many expected a big guitar solo there. But since when does what anyone expects? The Foxhole is deep and full of surprises.

Welcome back.🦊Shanti is a Sanskrit word meaning peace. Repeated 3 times it means peace in body, mind and spirit (or in thought, word and deed), so this is BABYMETAL's homage to India (and maybe to Bollywood too). It takes me straight back to the brief time I worked in New Delhi, great times, great song.
The video editor really got carried away with the kaleidoscope effects - at the expense of some very intricate (and accurate according to the Indian reactors and people with a background in Indian dance) choreo.
Yes Su-metal's vocals are amazing in this as she masters yet another singing style , but you may need to re-listen to Moa's backing vocals, she added all the inflection you wanted but seem to have missed.
This is the official video with the studio audio of course and, as always, the live audio is better (not Glastonbury) with the Kami Band and Su adding their live flavour.

Shanti Shanti Shanti was first performed out of Japan at Glastonbury, that made it quite relevant, as it's the song that even more than PAPAYA!, proved they still got it, that audacity and creativity that make BABYMETAL stand out 😊.
Great choreo, great SU vocals here, yeah, I like MOA's lines too 😅, but Metal Galaxy is an albume where they still have to find a good balance.

When do we do "From Dusk Till Dawn?"
Half the song is SU-METAL singing in falsetto.

100% agree. IMO, FDTD is the masterpiece of the New BM era, as "Rondo" was of their early/middle era.

Thanks as always for your quality reactions. This is another one of those BM songs-which I personally really like-that though fundamentally unchanged plays sooooo much heavier in the live video. Everything is always more epic when you see the live performance. Even if you only do it for yourself check that version out. I think you'll agree.

Thank you so much for reacting to this, it's probably my favourite song! Please please please check out the live (not Glastonbury), her vocals are amazing, some have English lyrics, and it really showcases their beautiful dancing. It's such a wonderful mix of cultures, and I think the live version will change your opinion a little :)

BABYMETAL incorporates ethnic music from around the world in their songs. But BABYMETAL does not make half-hearted songwriting, which I think is one of the best things about BABYMETAL. In the case of this song, they thoroughly studied Indian music and dances and sublimated them into BABYMETAL's tune and dance rather than simply imitating them, giving the best performance possible.

Shanti is nod to Bollywood. A genius composition in my eyes, in my top 4 BM songs along with live Headbanger, Karate, Road Of Resistance . I saw them here in Sydney where they sold out a 7.5 K pax venue. Unfortunately they didn't do this track, but there is a live one around which is pretty good too. This track really grows on you, if you give it a few spins so, see the live one , as Su-metal sings it well.

This is the studio audio without the actual Kami Band instrumentals.
Su-Metal and Moa’s Live vocals are always superior to studio and the Kami Band is a must hear. So I recommend that you watch an actual Live pro shot performance of this. I do not recommend the Glastonbury performance as people will rightly point out the poor quality of the sound production from the people in charge of the venue.

Yes, I perfer the new Live Proshot version. I'm not sure if the sound is different, but most of the Kaleidoscope effects (which makes me dizzy) are dropped and we see more of the girls wonderful dancing.

Welcome to the influences of 21st century Billboard charting. If they released this video with the live audio, the "streams" from it would not count towards album chart position. So yeah, this will be common practice until Billboard changes policies.

    Babymetal out-Bollywoods Bollywood.
"Wall of Sound", so are you saying that, in a sense, Phil Spector is the Godfather of BM? Scary thought.
YES, luv Atarashii Gakko, Avantgardy too!

I enjoy this song, but it has not been one of my favorites. It is more pop than usual for BM and I think was part of searching for a new, more grown-up sound for the band. This was released at the same time as Oh Manginai! and was part of a whole set of songs that tried to capture world sounds.
