May just be my age and era growing up but the mid to late 80s to me is a golden era of dirt bikes, they were built tough and were simple good looking, a unicorn is the 1984/85 xr200r, it was a short run of dual exhaust rfvc 200 engines but they quickly scrapped the version and went back to the regular old sohc single pipe 2 v "cdi" 200, the reason I was told was anybody looking for an actual performance bike would at least buy a 250 and 200s are mainly just trail riding fun bikes and the main feature of a fun bike is reliability and the regular old 200 is just that, it is a great engine tough as nails but fairly underwhelming.
