    Lyrics:
I am changing, trying every way I can
I am changing, I'll be better than I am
I'm trying to find a way to understand
But I need you, I need you
    I need a hand
I am changing, seeing everything so clear
I am changing, I am going to start right now, right here
I am hoping to work it out, and I know that I can
But I need you, I need a hand

In my opinion, Whitney's chest voice was like a clear lake with no ripples. Just perfect. And her falsetto or head voice, you better back the hell up. No one, not even Aretha or her mama, can match the control Whitney had over her falsetto. The woman is the Voice - this was a clip of the young voice knocking on the door to let you know she's coming.

The 12 minute London concert version is absolutely unbelievably SICK. She committed a war crime of vocal terrorism against it. RUclips won't let me post links in the comments (noy even RUclips links, which makes zero sense) so you'll need to go to my page. Its the only upload I have so you'll find it right away.
It is truly epic in scale and totally different from the version here in the blue dress. She performed it in a stadium and she gave it everything she had and more. Her band did an amazing job supplying the suspense and drama to match her COLLOSSAL vocals. MUST LISTEN for any Whitney fan.
Be sure to wear headphones. Your speaker phone won't do justice. This is an EXPERIENCE that demands your full uninterrupted attention (of 12 mins) Plz leave a comment either here or on the video itself. I'd love to know your reaction.

THIS Arista performance may be the most KNOWN version of this song Whitney has done but I urge you to check out the link below. She did this 10 minute concert version about 2 years after the Arista version and it is vastly superior in terms of intensity, power and velocity. It is easily the greatest (and most exhausting) live vocal performance of her entire career; and quite possibly the greatest live vocal performance of all time, from any singer! It is AMAZING.

Yeah she was using a lighter mix to get to higher range. I think her lifestyle made her lose that range in the 90s and also in the 90s she sang with more power which could have also affected her range but her tone made her voice stand out regardless of loss of the range.

@@diorrboyyyy yeah so there are different registers to singing. Singing in the mix register makes it easier for singers to access higher notes. Whitney used a more chestier approach to mixing in her later years. In her earlier years it was more balanced(between head and chest)/heady approach. So the approach she used in accessing higher registers in the 80s was lighter than the 90s. The 90s mix had a more darker quality to it. Hope this is clearer to you. Her voice wasn’t a light voice. LOL.. But horrible or even off? absolutely not. you dont get singing like this today. your ears have gotten used to all the sound effects and lip syncing that when you hear raw vocals it sounds bad to you. what a pity. she killed it and barely broke a sweat. please have a seat and stop trying to critique someone whos has already broken major records. she can have a bad day if she wanted.and it would do nothing to hurt her career.

And she accomplished SO much despite of that! She was a gift on this earth! There's never been anyone like her and many things she's done are in the record books! Whitney will remain of this earth! That's what really bothers SOME people. Those miserable souls don't have a prayer.

Me. I am WhitneyHouston Eternal love fan♥ and? All of the women mentioned lip synched and use background singers, but if you think that diminishes their talent that's completely wrong, just like how a comparison to them wouldn't diminish theirs or Whitney's talent. This was far from Whitney's best performance, probably her "worst" good performance, and no comparison will change the fact

2:37...the magic of Whitney Houston. Even in the "smaller" moments of the song; she caresses it with such beauty, but hits it with the complexity of the much bigger parts. This is where many of the singers of today (with the exception of Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, & a few others) drop the ball. The smaller moments help paint the larger picture; treat them with the same reverence. It's not always about loud & fancy runs.
