I disagree. They are disingenuous and they might as well be exchanging awards.
Just a normal day for Takashi
Just a "FYI" to everyone, Murakami is the artist behind one of Louis Vuitton's monogram. He also took part in Kanye West's Graduation album design. But the list of his works goes on.
Loving what is shown here by the way.

In Decay, great question
@@indecay8756 fuck no lol
when you become so big as an artist, you have other artists draw for you.
Dude... Takashi Murakami is something else, he is not from this world. I love his art.
THAT DOG IS SO FREAKING CUTE i cant.
I saw Murakami's art exhibit in NYC last winter-- the details were amazing, especially when he would do the screenprinting with foil backgrounds or metallic paints. I'm happy to see that giant mural art was expanded and I hope he brings it back to New York soon!
Pharrell your such a style icon...
I would paint fashion for you and Takashi anytime you want... Love from BIL NSW AUSTRALIA

I like and respect Murakami... but as a visual artist I got to be hands on with all my paintings... your physical signature is the attraction.
Now artist are employing other artist to paint their ideas.
Truth is, anyone can do that who isn't an actual artist. Hurst and Koons does that as well
i think they only do the little stuff like backgrounds and fill in colors. i mean, a little help never hurt anyone, right?
@@kidrobot. nah, they do more than that. I seen his artisans drawing as well... in any case, whether they are drawing or coloring that still entails ones unique physical signature.
Everyone is not good at coloring so, you actually can see a difference.
@@Art_Travel_and_Hobbys show me in the video where the color is off
@@kidrobot. never said any color was off. What I did say is everyone color signature will not be the same and some ppl aren't good at coloring. So, that was a general statement. Ppl speak about Murakami as if he is still just a basic visual artist. The man has evolved to being a commercial designer he should be spoken of in that fashion since he is no longer the only artist working on his material.
Picasso and the likes would probably take cyanide poison before allowing anyone to paint their ideas... I am the same way
The process of Murakami's art is an practice that Japanese artists have been doing for hundreds of years. Having an apprentice or an assistant help express your art isn't a new concept or even an odd concept. But maybe its a cultural difference and maybe not everyone thinks Picasso is the pinnacle of art.

Skater303303 what an amazing painting
another 'artist' who doesnt actually produce his own work #minions
Explain
@@stuartlittle340 the painting that Takashi claims is his is being painted by other people and if its painted by others, maybe its designed by others too. Hes a disgrace to the Murakami name
@@alexanderson1193 Love it 👍
I've never herd of this guy before so this is just my initial reaction but, it seems as though he has a lot of people making his art for him. That's kind of shitty if he's getting all the credit as some kind of mastermind.
+thejunkface a lot of great artist use assistants, to finish the work, like davinci or miguel angel
+thejunkface Finishing up this painting of Pharrell: instagram.com/p/8CEqsXJxsw/
+thejunkface Professional artists usually have assistants.... especially for huge mural art like he's been doing. It's nothing uncommon.
The assistants aren't contributing anything to the actual concept-- they are taking the image from smaller scaled canvases and then blowing it up. It is his finished design and his copyright-- meanwhile all they're literally doing is just a huge copyprint job. The 'credit' they get for it are wages, like any other assistant.
He designs everything and all the line work is originally created by him, but he has assistants to help when making larger versions of them. especially that many of them
rembrandt, van gough...all had assistants fyi
lmfao!!!! his ridiculous cloths paired with the conversation come off as so pretentious to me. like come on dude, it's all just silly nonsense. "wow i'm so honored to be here". "wow the rain it's so natural!". eh..artists XD
Pharrell is so cringe to me.
