  • The PCV valve is designed to take the blow-by gas produced from constant crankshaft activity back into your intake manifold to prevent blow-by gas from leaking into the atmosphere. If your PCV valve gets stuck or doesn't function properly, it can cause pressure build up inside your engine and low idle resulting in engine vibration, terrible gas mileage and white smoking coming out of the exhaust.

    Awesome, thank you for postjng this!. There was another video where a guy did everything under the car, it was a horrible time for him. Glad this has an easier way by doing some steps above the engine.

    cheap and easy to replace or use spray cleaner on the brass PCV. VERY clean in my 1999 Corolla. Listen to the man... he is plain spoken and uses common sense! He didn't show the PCV well in the video.... small and cheap to buy. Be sure to get the correct one... my car was built in 1999 and sold as a 2000 new model. It's a 1999... see?

    I checked the pcv valve and should the spring be moving up and down inside the long shaft part because i compared the old and the new one. And the old one is different doesn't show the spring and i replaced the hose which was pinching up and cleaned the old one and opens up n clicks and put it back in the engine. The new one has a bigger hole and makes it sound better.

    Wow... finally I know what this is. My pcv valve hose is completely collapsed when the vehicle is running. Can this cause a misfire as well as sluggish power??

    • @classicdiy1812
      @classicdiy1812  4 года назад +2

      A clogged hose or PCV system or inoperative valve canincrease oil consumption because pressure builds when the vapors in the crankcase aren't allowed to flow into the combustion chambers. That additional pressure can force oil past seals and gaskets ,

    Question , bought an ej9 d14z2 , went home 300km , another 100km used, from start point to finish point when ive checked oil , i ve started with full oil almost to max , ive checked by mistake at the end of 400km, and discov3red ive had almost nothing oil left into motor, i m assumming its eatting alot , my idle is quite high, 1.1 but only for 5min it settles to normal by 5minutes, i am planning to use this base engine block further, with mini me on it , shall i just strip it down and see cilinder walls for damage?

    my civic runs completly fine same engine like yours but when i turn on ac, engine start lose 80% of its power under 2 rpm and don't feel any acceleration feedback, my ac guy says your ac is fine, throttle body is fine, where is problem

      @@christakala7927 I sorted out ac problem somehow myself by covering the engine head cover hose, with cloth it was completely open earlier and car sits high on idle and low on ac on startup, now ac on and off ac are 3 to 400 rpm difference on idle and somewhat engine power is back and now at least I can drive with ac, Yeah it takes a while for my engine to power up from 1k to 2k rpm after that its drivable and fifth gear is useless on ac , on climbing roads I have to off ac, and when ac off and uncovered engine head hose naked, makes the car sky rocket like it will fly, but after solving the problem with this technique I have lost some pick/adrenaline without ac and got power with ac lol looks like a sacrifice hate it

    • @BlingJ.

      @Doogie Rush without ac it flies baby like a maniac and with ac it is walking zombie ac guys says everything is fine we won't do anything, electrician says everything is fine, go to ac guys, now I sorted it myself after two months lol, other than this one guy said change the whole wiring to 1997, he saidthe wiring is 1995 civic and engine is 1997civic change it and the issue will be gone, so with and without ac rpm difference was almost 800k to 1k and sometimes switching gears car shutdown, under 2krpm with ac car was, walking dead zombie , its still now under 2k zombie but now a better fast walking running zombie

    Replace the tube, grommet, plastic piece and O Ring that connects to the Breather Box.
    Clean out and seal the Breather box too! Trust me, HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!
    I have a 95 Honda Del Sol and Never did this... Better response, better gas mileage,
    zooms better and just more horse power! Before it was sluggish, wasn't breathing right etc...
    It's easy to get to on these cars. Pay your mechanic to do it... buy parts from Honda. Its' worth it!
