10 Years: Picture Every Day (Age 14-24)

- I took a selfie every day for 10 years, here is the timelapse :)
Like many 14 year old girls I was unhappy with my appearance (for example I felt I looked too boyish), which I was hopeful would change in the future. I thought that if I documented each day that I’d always be reminded of where it was I started, and that it would keep me motivated to continue attempting to feel better about myself.
Now, looking at the stages I’ve gone through I do feel superficially more secure about my appearance, but I’m more comforted by being able to recognise that other aspects of my life aren’t static- the problems I was faced with on certain days in the past have since resolved, I’ve been able to improve on traits beyond my appearance, my outlook has continued to transform as I’ve learnt from my mistakes, and I’ve been able to discover who I am and what I really care about.
I may cringe at pictures of the person I was last year or even last month, but I try to acknowledge that they’re just a part of what got me to now, and I may still think I look boyish, or that my nose is too big, or cheeks too flushed, but if I can accept those things as they are then I can hopefully focus on changing more important things about myself. Even though I’m stupidly far from being content with many aspects of my life, I’ve proven to myself that change is possible (and inevitable), and that through refinement I will hopefully continue to grow- even if I’m only able to see it retrospectively.

Time is a hell of a thing, you look forward and it doesn't seem to be moving. Then you look back and the whole world has changed...

I like the little montage at the beginning, it really shows how people "grow" into their noses in puberty. I used to be so insecure about my nose when I was 12 because it was quite big, but by 20 it was in normal proportion and I realised I quite liked my nose

Let's just appreciate that she's probably still taking photos daily and that we will have a check out in 2035 📷

I read the video description and appreciate your openness. I struggle to look at myself because of my looks and it doesn't seem to matter how positive people are to me about it. I feel like I've been taught to value my looks to the point where I can't tell what I look like beyond my own negative opinions of my looks. I think reading what you had to say made me feel like I'm still moving forward and that learning to manage how I feel about my looks is more important than looking the way I think that people want me to. It's a hard lesson to learn.

You can get something called affign on pc

@@NewenF Yeah. You put all the images in one folder and assign an output folder for the aligned images. Then go to CMD and change the directory to the affign directory and run the command that's in the github guide inputting the names of the folders. Then you get all the aligned files in the output folder

This caption really resonated with me...I’m experiencing the same thoughts and concerns. I commented this on the other video- it makes me wonder how you find what suits you? You look honestly great in your 20s, I thought the platinum blond hair suited you really well and you just seemed more confident
I think I’ve just got more comfortable going with what feels right for me at the time- I’ve gone back to my natural hair now and even though it might not suit me like the platinum I am pretty content with it :)
