I'm going on 30,000 miles with my Toyo Trails. I overland some of the most remote places in Oregon and have all the confidence in the world with these tires. Highly recommended.
Hows the tread life at 30k? When we bought our jeep it had brand new open country M/Ts and they lasted a whopping 20k miles with 5 rotations in that mileage.
Over 15” of snow where I’m located this past weekend going on through Monday. Gets around well in 4WD. Definitely miss some of that siping in the ATs but the RT Trails did just fine if 4WD. The noticeable difference in snow and ice would probably only really be felt in 2wd. Side note as someone who sells/installs alot of tires. I’ve ran them all, Yoko, Toyo, Nitto, Falken, BFG, Goodyear, etc. Toyos consistently time after time balance out way better with less weight. Seems like their quality control is a notch above the rest in my opinion and experience.
How do falkens balance out? I’ve had terrible luck with the 37x12.50r17 ko2’s not balancing. I’ve been thinking about wildpeak at4w but they are heavy and an e load
@@henryoberling594 KO2s are hands down tied for worst balancing all terrain next to the General. This could be subject to change though with the new KO3s coming out. The AT4W is an awesome looking tire with a sharp looking sidewall. They due tend to balance a little heavy with some hop but I wouldn’t say it’s as bad as the KO2s. I would expect a mild shake in the steering wheel at 65 and up but manageable.
This feels like a good, real life review. I respect your honesty with not being able to rest them in the snow. Where I’m from we typically get a lot of snow. I feel like these will be worth a shot if they are doing well in the sand. We’ll see! Cheers!
Haaaaa, thanks for this review my dude!! I juste hate the KO2's on my Wrangler, it rained allot last year and they scared the sh*t out of me. Was looking at these R/T Trail's and could not find a real on hands review, this one just sold them, kudos!
I recently got new tires and I was thinking about these but still went with the OG KO2s. Now the only reason is why I didn’t was because of the 3 peak snow rating that it wasn’t capable for that.
@@CastaicLokal very similar to the MT in off-road capability, but quieter on road than the MTs. They grip more on the dirt roads but spin a bit more in the loose stuff compared to the MT, that’s the only difference I’ve noticed so far

Great viedo! Thank you for sharing your expierience. How are you liking the tires so far? Im coming from a General grabber x3 and in the market for some new tires. These definetly caught my interest. Any suggestions?
Glad you liked the video! I’m actually gonna be filming a 1 year review soon! Now I don’t have much experience with the x3 but I’d have to assume it would be a bit more comfortable and quiet on the R/T Trails. Overall I haven’t had any traction problems on or off road. Only concern I’m having is possible early dry rot going on between the tread
On a halfsize truck like the taco, take these in 255/80-17r (pizzacutters) Best in allmost any offroad conditions. Thank me later. Ofcause you should have a 4x4
That’s basically the same size I have on in this video, and the same size I’ve been running since I started off-roading. Just a different wheel size for more tire. And 4wd isn’t really needed for the style of offroading I do. 2wd is actually preferred more for my style because you can run lift spindles, get more travel, and have less stuff to break.
Considering Toyo R/T Trail tires for Jeep Wrangler 392XR. Use much weight to balance tires? How smooth are they compared to a new set of K02's, C load rating? Concerned about E load rating being stiff for a Jeep, 37x12.50R17?
I’ve run a bunch of different tires from Toyo mt’s & at’s to ko2’s and ridge grapplers have been the best all around. Especially for how quiet they are
Had these 265/75/r16 toyos installed last weekend on 16" black rhino's shogun with a -10 offset on stock height on my 2012 tacoma and I gotta say, I fell in love with em, my new favorite tire 😎🤘🏾🤘🏾
Everyone always told me theirs wore fast but I ran mine for 50k miles/5 years. They still had tread left too. It was the dry rot between the low tread that made me get a fresh set of tires
@@sh0cktim3 20-25k miles in year, and yeah towing and lots gravel roads. Would rotate every 7k. Not sure why they shred so fast but I no longer get them.
I had Ridge Grapplers before and they are great except on wet roads especially bad after tire has worn down. My Toyo RT Trail tires are excellent overall and is a champ on wet roads.
@tony_lopez I have about 12000 miles on them currently and still excellent in the rain but we will see how it changes after another 12000 miles. Love these tires so far....
@@kesslerchaidez1962 ive had the opposite experience actually. I used to love breaking my KO2s loose during rainy season. After I put these on, I couldn’t get them to break loose with the same amount of throttle.
Any shop should align the truck. They just won’t offer an warranty due to offroad use. So if they see those mods and you come back complaining because you knocked it out of alignment in a week they won’t offer a warranty.
It’s quite the opposite haha I find all shops are willing to do it but I don’t go to most shops. Just because they’re willing to do it doesn’t mean they know how to! I have a horror story of me going to three “commercial shops” (Toyota dealer, pep boys, and Mountain View) and the first two completely botched the job and made the alignment worse than when I went in. I’m picky about my alignment shops. Usually only go to people who work on aftermarket suspension vehicles or off-road vehicles.

My k02s have 30k on them and half the tread left. Even with bad ball joints they still wore almost perfectly
