- Cody and I get a little slap happy in this one as we wander the night in search of some big Truttasaurus! Also I eat some beans. Enjoy!
Date: December 5-6, 2022
Time: 8pm - 12 am, 7am - 11pm.
Location: Central Pennsylvania
Conditions: Clear, calm night w/ almost full moon. Overcast and drizzling.
Air Temp: 25 - 35 degrees F
Water Temp: cold degrees F
Wind: less than 5 mph
Gear: 6w fly rods
6'10" ML Spinning Rod and 7' M Casting Rod
Tackle: 8 - 10 lb leaders with hand tied matuka style dries and big articulated streamers
Ned Rig and small suspending jerkbaits

Hi Cody! Hi Tom! Another good video! Nothing worse than letting your meat go half cooked... Butane has a higher freezing point than most fuels. As the fuel gets lower in the can there is less thermal mass to keep it from freezing. Once the amount is low, it freezes because there isn't as much to get to its freezing temp(-215f IIRC).
I've seen people pack snow around their gas fuels. Snow will insulate and keep it the gas at 32f even if the air temp is much colder.
