I was wondering about the cube shaped pieces. Are those also available?

This board just screams out quality and "premium". I'm definately gonna pick this up when I move to my own apartment. I hope by then they will have added a drawer compartment, so that you would not have to lift the board in order to get out the pieces and chess clock. That would make it even more perfect! :)

Watching how this is "snapped" together, it is hard to believe it is $500.

It's not massed produced MDF. It's hardwood, precision made by a craftsman in PA, and each table takes hours to make.

From what I could see, the hardware looked excellent. It only needs to support maybe 20 pounds max. Nice that it collapses really, as long as it's solid when assembled. Seems like a reasonable design being that it's specifically designed to fit 21" boards from this same manufacturer. If I had the space for this, I would strongly consider it.

@@michaelbauers8800 It is a $500 Chess board....that snaps together. For $30 I can get a tournament legal mat with a 2.5" nicely shaped piece set...and play great chess.
I am clearly not the whale they are marketing too. lol. Hell, I can play chess with a hand drawn board and cardboard cut outs...but you would be in a pickle impressing your guests with that set up...which is really what this table is all about.
I'm still the guy asking "$500...for a snap together chess board?"
