    That’s not a transformer fire. That’s a secondary (110/208 volt) network riser fire. The best thing the fire & police can do is cordon off the area & wait for the power company to make it safe. The public hasn’t any idea the danger involved with electricity.

      Let the trained professionals handle it. Until they arrive, we'll just stand here with way more flashing lights than are needed.

    Why are firefighters trying to put the fire out with water? Not only could it make the fire explode, but it can shock the firefighter to death. See, on the video, they are actually making it spark instead of helping it, every time they increase the flow of water from the nozzle.

      They are keeping the pole wet so it doesn't burn and break. Tap water is not all that conductive, and the nozzle is producing water droplets, not a solid stream. 120 Volts is not going to flow through the long stream of droplets back to the firefighters. 7200 volts, which is most likely what is feeding the transformer, might, but that arcing in the video is a low voltage arc, not 7200 volts. If it was a 7200 volt arc the firefighters would not be standing that close.

      Yeah, no transformer. Not even lines down, just looks like it rubbed through where it goes into the conduit going underground.

    Over 30 yes ago, when I was an industrial firefighter working at a nuclear generation plant here in US we learned technics to extinguish fire in and on energized equipment with 1.5 inch water hose lines. We used to
    The 10-10 rule. 10 degree fog pattern on nozzle minimum approach distance of 1 feetImum approach of 10 feet

    Did they ever heard of having the power turned off first?... Helloooo...knucklehead firefighters, don't water cause electrical fire as well too???

      They have to prevent the utility pole from catching on fire while they wait for the power company to come so it doesn't fall.

      I’d think the same thing but these individuals go to school for this and understand everything about fires from electrical to grease.

    Why are they putting water on an electrical fire

    • @Jackthefanman800

      I agree. Just so stupid and dangerous. Doing something that can potentially kill a firefighter.

    • @cellogirl11rw55
      @cellogirl11rw55 4 года назад +4

      It's to prevent the fire from spreading to the utility pole.

    We learned in physics: spraying water to high voltage is always a really good idea!
