Virgos have never received representation in plastic, and being a big game changer of the second half of the series that seems like one hell of an oversight that's due for correcting as well.
This kit is just such a goddamn marvel how it comes together despite it's simplicity. It's not flashy or heavily detailed, but it comes together in a way I've never seen or believed could've been done before, and it's staggering to think that just because it's not more involved that it can't be appreciated for how ingenious it is. If this influences future gunpla design engineering I can see the kind of advancements made here making more complex designs more accessible by reducing complexity and costs while maintaining a solid, accurate, and highly poseable model.
Only thing that I've found is a great option for a baseline upgrade for the kit is to take a bit of the metallic stickers from other kits to go behind the lens for the eye
Before we get anymore Oz suits, I'd like to seem them make new HGAC of the original 5 gundams to go along with the Wing Gundam and Wing Zero. I'm pretty sure that we will be getting a Shenlong or Altron eventually based on the fact that HGBD Jiyan Altron is on the way.
Well both the Wing and Wing Zero have a very nice current kit, We more or less have the Altron/Shenlong through the Build Divers kit. So we just lack a new Sandrock, Heavyarms and Deathscythe for a updated Gundam team.
The Leo Grief from one of the mangas actually has Tallgeese style side skirts. Don't forget about the new Leo NPD kit from Build Divers, it's new 2 chests, 4 heads, 5 shoulder armor and 1 back pack.
Because of you, I've been going to usagundamstore. Shopped there twice and used your coupon code both times. Thank you. Will pick up the Leo from there soon.
Dude I swear Bandai treats Gundam Wing like a neglected step child. How many MG Zaku's have we gotten.? How many grunt suits for other series period have we gotten. Thank God for this. I don't need it. I wanted an 1/100 but to all the 1/144 builders I'm envious.
I think the handle on the shield is meant for hand held option, not to be used when mounted on the shoulder. Also, the Build Diver's practice target is basically a gray Leo with different head.
Funny talking about them waiting for them to sell... They are selling so well that we're having distribution issues here in the US. They sent the container with the kits meant for my store back to Japan to shore up the shortage over there. We finally got our RG Tallgeese last Friday but are still waiting for the second run of the Leos.
That's seems rather questionable given the additional costs of freight, the long lead time in waiting for the container to return, the heavy discounting that occurs on the Japanese domestic market, and the small drop in the bucket a single container would represent relative to Japanese demand.
We heard it from Bluefin themselves. They had to send whole ships worth of containers back because Bandai didn't distribute enough to Japan to cover preorders. That's why they are currently hard to find stateside. It also slowed distribution of some of the other kits like the Momokapool and RG Tallgeese.
A 20-foot container holds around 10000 small kits. Pretty sure they're not sending whole ship's worth back. ;-) Not saying it's impossible but you're talking about a 1-2 month lag for cargo to return in order to cover preorders (don't think they're gonna make it in time). The other option would be to reallocate machine time and print more kits locally. Maybe they simply don't the capacity available to make such a sacrifice viable but that's quite a star alignment if what you're saying is true. The kit is also, at time of writing, in stock at USA Gundam Store.
We NEED to get the rest of the Operation Meteor Gundams in HGAC. My HG Wing Gundam is so lonely. What ever happened to the "All Gundam Project"? Great review man, I'm totally gunna get this thing as soon as its eBay prices settle down a bit!
Very simple but nostalgic for me. Gundam wing was my entrance into the gundam world in my teens and have been a fan ever since. Only recently have I returned to building.
BTW, a lot of reviewers didn't mention this. All the joint on this kit is designed in a way that you can simply pull off the parts like the lower arms, thighs etc, remove the seams and snap it back on. No need to do any parts separation like other kits, for example HGGTO Zaku forearms seam....
This is an excellent kit. Compared to what I was building 25 yrs ago this thing is amazing. Basic and really good for beginners. I got 6 at hobby lobby for 10 bucks each. My kids loved them and loved painting them differently
My feelings about Wing(first Gundam series) have soured in recent years but I still LOVE the grunt suits of After Colony. Unconditional love. I would love a modern Cancer, Taurus, Pisces, and Virgo.
The Robot Damashii Leo with the Flight Pack has two thruster/missile dealies, one on each thigh. That is likely what those attachment points will be for in the future. In Build Divers, we have already seen the NPD Leos with space back packs, dober guns, and I think the beam rifle from the Space Type. I'm hoping instead of a P-Bandai we get a Build Divers booster pack or something.
That would be nice! But I think the HGBC sets are meant to be used with a wide range of kits. Just the shape of the connections for the Leo add-on parts would make them pretty hard to use with anything else. Who knows!
Nah, a bunch of those packs are made for specific units, that rotary backpack is definitely made for the Grimoir Red Beret, the Ace Diver pack thing is made for the 00, and that bike thing for the Fenice going all the way back to Build Fighters. All of them come with adapters for use with other kits anyway.
I've seen on Twitter that some stores in Japan are advertising the robot damashii Leo add-on set alongside the HGUC Leo kit. also I think Bandai is gonna do extra accessories for the Leo as HG Build Custom sets for the Leo NPD.
We need more HGAC of the Tallgeese( 1,2 and three), Sandrock( TV and EW), Deathsythe( and Hell type), Shenlong and Altron, Heavyarms( both EW flashback and EW proper version) and Epyon and the other OZ Gundams.
I think they're hinting at a HGBC accessory set for the other weapons/flight packs, the NPD Leo in Divers utilizes all the different weapons the Leo has in Wing(shoulder cannons, dober gun, beam rifle, space pack). I'm sure they know people want these accessories, I'd be baffled if they didn't do this. The NPD Leo will also have a special backpack that has many hard points so look into that :D
Not sure if you mentioned it or know about it but the Tamashii Nations Leo option set fits on this Leo. Yellow submarine here in Japan was advertising it and having a special on them
the reason most ppl praise the leo is because it manage to do everything an hg barbatos does(articulation, accuracy, price) without the use of stickers, with an assembly easy to separate to paint
How do you feel about the NPD Leo from Build Divers? While it is largely the same kit in pale blue/white, it does come with customizable options like the heads (four of them including a Maganac Corps head) and new shoulder options.
I love almost everything about this kit. The simplified joints in the knees and elbows are not one of them. It's plastic rubbing against plastic and it's going to get loose over time. The only other thing I don't like about this kit is the thigh connection. It's got a peg connected to a ball joint that plugs into the top of the thigh and the part that plugs into the thigh is a little bit loose and it's a little hard to Poe's the legs symmetrically PS Kakarot was right. You should definitely get some shiny reflective type material and put it underneath the mono eye. It really makes it pop
I can see the space and flight type being p-bandai but i feel the weapons will be in a weapon pack box like they been doing in past sets but im not bandai so idk but i hope that will be that
A three pack would be pretty awesome, especially if each of them has different weapons/gear. I've never seen Gundam Wing (though I recently built the MG Wing Zero Custom from waaaaaaay back in 2004 and loved it) but the Leo looks like a neat grunt suit and I feel like Gunpla needs cheap but solid kits like this sometimes.
"The HG barbatos was also a 1000 yen kit" The... Main gundams are always around 1000-1200 yen for a series. The grunt suits, however, tend to get less love im regard to detail and articulation, thus why people love the Leo so much. Also why the GM/GM is such a shocker.
I hope the space type only be a P-Bandai, and make the other weapons and backpack be a option set sold separately though and not make them a P-Bandai as well
With the Divers version of Altron coming out soon, a normal version of the Altron is bound to happen soon after. I'm hoping they do Epyon as well. The MG is nice but has problems with range and posing.
I would kill for an Aires. What did you think about the way the forearm/legs were constructed? It seems like it's designed to remove seams easily, with the joint attached after.
So first time I've seen this video and the reason I've looked it up is because I'm building both the mg ground and space type from third party tallgeese kits and ZAKU mentioned doing exactly that well Bandai that is but hell I'm doing it as they can't be bothered lol
While your idea was good (and actually could happen), I think it would be cool if they released all the optional parts as a big IBO-style option part set.
If we could get new high grades for the gundams, that’d be great. I like the EW designs, especially Zero and Nataku, but the other gundams from AC all have better designs in the show version
In terms of future possibilities, my thoughts are all personal and related purely to customs. First off, the elbows. I am SO working that double joint into my old HGUC Gouf Custom. The elbow details are close enough in appearance that I think I can get away with it. Second, those thighs. As much as I love the RG release, I wouldn't mind seeing an HGAC Tallgeese lineup at some point, but could it be possible that the Leo's thigh caps are actually mean for the Leo NPD? Third, the feet. Once again mentioning the RG Tallgeese, one of the only things I don't like about that kit are how small they made the feet. I'm already planning a unique full custom HG/ RG hybrid of Tallgeese and Leo using those feet for extra stability. And that brings me to my last point. ZakuAurelius : You mentioned the HG Barbatos being the same price point but with greater detail. I agree, but I have a small rebuttal - between Barbatos and Leo, which would you say is the more STABLE FEELING kit to play with?
They cant use the Tallgeese inner frame because the Leo is smaller/scaled down. While the frame itself is right, it's too big as is And that Barbatos comparison was not a good one
Mercurius and Vayeate would be welcomed additions to the HGAC line
and Aries too pls ...
Taurus as well :)
Virgos have never received representation in plastic, and being a big game changer of the second half of the series that seems like one hell of an oversight that's due for correcting as well.
Yes and yes
yassssss pls

Erdrick68 100% agree
And yet we don't have a HGAW Leopard despite getting the DaVinci, don't hold your breath
Or the the R-Jarja despite having the R-GyaGya
Well both the Wing and Wing Zero have a very nice current kit, We more or less have the Altron/Shenlong through the Build Divers kit.
So we just lack a new Sandrock, Heavyarms and Deathscythe for a updated Gundam team.
Need bad-guy Tallgeese and Epyon kits
I’d love a three pack for the Leo
The Leo Grief from one of the mangas actually has Tallgeese style side skirts. Don't forget about the new Leo NPD kit from Build Divers, it's new 2 chests, 4 heads, 5 shoulder armor and 1 back pack.
I really like the design of this suit, feels very simple and grunty
Because of you, I've been going to usagundamstore. Shopped there twice and used your coupon code both times. Thank you. Will pick up the Leo from there soon.
Dude I swear Bandai treats Gundam Wing like a neglected step child. How many MG Zaku's have we gotten.? How many grunt suits for other series period have we gotten. Thank God for this. I don't need it. I wanted an 1/100 but to all the 1/144 builders I'm envious.

Katoki really did a lot of weird and unique MS design in Wing series, really hope they make a HGAC Taurus. Love that design~
Same!

What's your stores info???

Could be miscommunication... But I'm just going of what I've heard from Bluefin.
The underwater mobile suits would be cool, plus the mobile doll suits, or the space Taurus suits. I would also love to see the Vayetee and Murcureus.
Grunt suits are the best.
I think the Aries suits were cool! Wish they will someday make them.
Swat Rana It’s so weird that they haven’t yet
Nice name-design combination. Leo rocks.
I just got my notification from gamestop that mine shipped! Can't wait to start customizing it for the local stores competition.
I would love a modern Cancer, Taurus, Pisces, and Virgo.
also from Wing is the Maganac which is another interesting grunt to turn into a kit.
The Robot Damashii Leo with the Flight Pack has two thruster/missile dealies, one on each thigh. That is likely what those attachment points will be for in the future. Good kit for customising.
I'll wait for the inevitable option set to pick one of these up.
I would be most glad if they released high grade versions of the other OZ mobile suits.

actually this kit was designed so you don't have to do any modifications to remove the seam lines.
love yur vids dude
Not sure if you mentioned it or know about it but the Tamashii Nations Leo option set fits on this Leo. Yellow submarine here in Japan was advertising it and having a special on them
can we do custom leo contest this year
Natsarut Sir Agree
the reason most ppl praise the leo is because it manage to do everything an hg barbatos does(articulation, accuracy, price) without the use of stickers, with an assembly easy to separate to paint
Great review Zak' nowt wrong with having a different opinion. HG Aries though, man I want that - easily my fave grunt suit!!
simplicity at its best
Wish he would have mentioned the wonky head in comparison to the new p-bandai head which is accurate to the show.
The head mold is exactly the same between this version and the p-Bandai versions
Late 2019. Leo full armory coming soon
Enough room to squeeze a yellow LED in the head?
How do you feel about the NPD Leo from Build Divers? While it is largely the same kit in pale blue/white, it does come with customizable options like the heads (four of them including a Maganac Corps head) and new shoulder options.
Planning to get one! but honestly don't really care much for any of the head options

Nice base for custom build ^____^
The white leo had leg thrusters that plug into the legs like the Tallgeese
Got a RG Talgeese on order and the full weapon set for the LEO, gonna have a small army diorama going.
My favorite grunt mobile suit.
I can see the space and flight type being p-bandai but i feel the weapons will be in a weapon pack box like they been doing in past sets but im not bandai so idk but i hope that will be that
I'm getting one to customize, gonna make some parts for it with a 3d printer.
I dont thunk they'll make an MG Leo but it be great for RE line.
They recently announced the Space Type Leo.
The hardpoint on the side of the leg is for some thrusters on the flight version
Hopefully they'll just release a builders parts type thing for extra weapons and attachments for the Leo, that would be pretty sweet.
well that cap on the back means they must be planning something in the future, so hopes for an accessory pack are high
Leos are so lame but I couldn’t resist this for $12 to go with the other HGACs from Wing
hey guys, do the weapons of the hgac leo fit the hands of hgibo kits? if they do, i might buy the hgac leo full weapon set.
They should fit
A three pack would be pretty awesome, especially if each of them has different weapons/gear. I've never seen Gundam Wing (though I recently built the MG Wing Zero Custom from waaaaaaay back in 2004 and loved it) but the Leo looks like a neat grunt suit and I feel like Gunpla needs cheap but solid kits like this sometimes.

The power of nostalgia... Very nice model though...
SOKUDO LEO CUSTOM
might do that mod when i get my hands on this kit
not a big fan of the thigh ball joint connection between the hip, mine seem flimsy and loose
I'm hoping they make the Veyeate and Mercurius in the not so distant future.
I hope the space type only be a P-Bandai, and make the other weapons and backpack be a option set sold separately though and not make them a P-Bandai as well
I'm hoping an updated HGAC Mercurius and Vayeate happens next
If we were to actually get an aries I would be so happy
What we really need is a HG Tallgeese revive version.
Hey I just ordered one of these and it's a really good kit so no haters plss
But it's 10$ in the U.S. and Canada it looks very customizable
I can only find it for $19 in Canada on Amazon. $12 USD on the maker's website, but adding shipping to that would probably multiply that price.
knowing Bandai they will sell a Leo weapon pack or the variants parts pack so they can use them with the build fighters line as well
No Stickers FTW
Make tutorial about how to tighten RG's frame pls
Never wanted a Leo before, but it looks great.
Great review! A well executed HG and an easy build overall. I love the kit. A bit boring design wise but still pretty cool.
the leg got side flight booster
I really hope they release an option set for this kit instead of milking us with multiple P-Bandai releases, but I'm not holding my breath.
I wish bandai make the gundam wing kits base off the tv version
Kevin DeLuna same here
I want see them in hg 1/144 forms not the ew version
They do. We actually got revives for the Wing and Wing Zero... Though none of the others yet.
Justin Jacobs I know right I want to see all the others in the tv version forms in hg
Yep it’s convenient!
What they should do is release the extra armaments and the backpack in an expansion box a la Build Fighters/Divers, and the IBO line.
Careful pulling the sabers off the shield. The tiny part they plug on snapped off in the hilt of mine -_-
Vayeate and Mercurius have a use for those those slots on the thights : ^ )
So first time I've seen this video and the reason I've looked it up is because I'm building both the mg ground and space type from third party tallgeese kits and ZAKU mentioned doing exactly that well Bandai that is but hell I'm doing it as they can't be bothered lol
paint fodder, i love it!
Unless your first and last name have five syllables between them, I would NOT hop in this mobile suit...
Treize Khushrenada?
Wha i dont get it.
Ultra Fox in the show the important people with long names manage to pilot Leo’s without dying.

Will this kit able to perform kit bash with the Build Diver's Leo NPD?
Yes. It’s the same kit
Its possible turn the NPD Leo into a Leo with the NPD color.
Awesome!
Yeah i think thoese side hiles are for the boster on the leg for when they make a aries we can only hope
I think other weapon will bundle in HGBC pack or something. But anyway I'm glad that Bandai finally give their love to Wing series.
God i would love the triple pack
HG TALLGEESE, I'M CALLING IT
the lack of flight pack, shoulder cannons and specially the high caliber cannon are disapointing
I need a space type
For those of you having trouble getting a Leo: have you considered getting a Leo NPD? I had an easier time getting an NPD than an actual Leo.
Yeaaaaaaah boiiiiiii
Please Bandai,...Virgo and Taurus,..”hail kruschanada”
Master chef? is that you?
Yes, it’s Gordon Ramsay!
They cant use the Tallgeese inner frame because the Leo is smaller/scaled down. While the frame itself is right, it's too big as is
And that Barbatos comparison was not a good one
Those back thrusters make it look like the leo has a butt
No stickers? I'll take 10
its been years since the RG tallgeese came out, and still no RG leo.... disappointed to say the least
The RG line is pretty exclusive. They don’t really do RG grunts. I wouldn’t expect an RG Leo
@@ZakuAurelius i know it :( ill make my own eventually. i wish RG would expand to grunts/more universes, its my favorite line.
