Vust Valeo sadly it was a result of economics at the time the show was produces so stock footage was used heavily. What pisses me off is Gundam Build Divers has the poetical to bring honor back to the Leo and they reduced it to this shows version of the Mock
In a sense, that's the best thing the Leo could hope for. The Leo is actually relevant in gunpla for the first time since, well, ever. Like the humble and immortal Zaku II it's a mook that can stand proud knowing it's clearing the way for other new releases in its line (HGAC), especially since the Leo now has technically TWO, REGULAR RELEASE kits (the vanilla standard, and the NPD version, with variants most likely in the future) immediately after being introduced to the HG gunpla line. Even if it's a beating-stick mook unit, is there no greater honor for a mook unit to actually be good at its job AT being a mook?
To be fair, the Leo does has some really badass moments, too. Zechs takes out Wing Gundam in the first episode of the series. In...Episode 17, I think? I just bought one of these from Hobby Lobby. And I love it! The Leo is one of my favorite suits despite the show tearing so many of them up. I plan to go back and buy another kit so I can have a double shield swordsman Leo.
any advice on building it? i've never done a gunpla before, and not entirely sure if i need to break out the super glue or just my sprue trimmers and exacto.
I bought it when it was preorder. I can't wait for this guy! We've been waiting for a HG Leo for years! I hope they eventually come out with the other suits like the virgo, or the aries.
Gundam Wing's crappiest MS (seriously), but the irony is that this kit is better designed and built than the original no grade Wing Gunpla. I love you, Leo. Nice to finally have you. :-)
Actually, Zechs showed that a Leo in the right hands could keep up with Gundams in the right hands... in episode 1. Several episodes later, Heero piloted one and took down a ton of Virgo mobile dolls.
I will say I might get a couple ,but I will wait till they release some part kits. Really want a leo armed with a dobergun and one armed with the shoulder mounted cannons
I think the Leo is the most "realistic" looking grunt ms. It has this utilitarian military look. really like it and it sucks that in the show it blows up with one punch! lol
Even for a lack of accessories (flight and space) this standard type is enough for me. Was actually very glad they included the big shield or else I'd be disappointed for 1000yen price. Regardless of articulation flaws, this really is a great model of the Leo
Been working on my own Leo Squad. Got 2 Space Types, 3 Ground Types, and the Leo Full Weapons pack coming in later on. I think it's going to make a hell of a display with Wing Gundam and Sandrock
This was my first custom painted kit, I liked the Leo but the nub marks were just so ew! And the seam lines didn't help either...so I did a repaint and topcoat and I love the dark midnight blue and mediterranean blue colors over the green and brown.
Considering everything from the other Leo versions, it really should have included, at least, the beam rifle from later in the series, and, perhaps, the parachute pack which is only in the Full Weapons kit.
There's no mention of it on Google. I'm excited because with this kit they can pretty much make any mobile suit used by Oz. I'm looking forward to the tallgeese and the Virgo. The Virgo 2 will probably be P Bandai or maybe the standard coloration will be normal release but then they will have a White Fang color variant
If you have an HGUC Pale Rider, I think you could use its machine gun on that Leo, since that particular machine gun doesn't have a trigger guard, just a straight handle.
People have been waiting for over a decade for the LEO. It was only available in LM series in thick chunky parts with VERY limited articulation. I hope they have a version with the dober gun, short flight pack, parachute pack and shoulder canons. And in purple with space use pack...
It doesn't look that much different from the GM machine gun. Im so gonna make an army with the leos even if it will take me a while to do so lol i hate being a budget modeler -.-
As a stand alone--10USD for a good looking grunt model is a pretty good steal. I mean, we're talking close to how much the old No Grades cost back in the 90s. I'm not about to complain. It would be nice to see a dobergun, but if we get a space leo with it and the backpack for some extra cost--problem solved.
i unironically love the Leo, hell I believe it is my favorite MS I would love a MG of it, but I pretty much doubt it unless I repaint and custom a Tallgeese, and I like the Tallgeese to much to spend money on one just to re paint it.
I have one myself, but wish I could get the full-weapon kit despite only the green one being available; an army-build would be possible with at least one of the latter kits.
Well the bastards did it. Made the space type p-bandai. They should have made the space version a standard release and the flight version a p-bandai. It would still suck, but not nearly as much.
I don't know what's with all the complaints. LEOs heads are not designed to move. I had to downgrade mod an old 144 Tallgeese , with lots of putty, just to get it looking close to this. Back then the 144 Tallgeese and a LEO were about the same size in model kit form. If you've ever seen the LM series version of this model, compared to that you'd say this is a MG class. Many of us have been waiting literal decades for this much. The biggest bull crap is that they P-BAN the really good stuff.
こんにちは Painting an customizing is half the fun with these cheaper kits. Plus we all know that the Leo is the best mobile suit ......... for target practice.

That said given Bandai's tackiness in re-releasing the same kits (looking at you Origin line), I think we can expect a space Leo for sure. Man I remember building the Heavy Arms as my first kit like when I was 10. Can't believe it's taken like 18 years for their to be a release of the Leo. Now if we can just get modern releases of most of the Gundam Wing mobile suits I'll be happy. Not sure why we're getting them now other then the Blu-ray release. Still a bit lost about the hate for Gundam Wing, though I guess it was like the first non-UC series.
I assume they'll make a Leo Option pack as a HGBC as the Build Divers NPD Leo uses a Dober Gun and the Beam Rifle as well (and maybe the space pack, don't remember) I do have the old dober gun from a 1/144 tallgeese 3 though I painted up, so I can have it use that!
i picked up one of these as my first Gunpla.. i've built non-gundam models before, so i figured i could handle the parts count. but i'm a little unsure. do i need to glue any of the parts, or are they all snapfit? the kit doesn't really say. if snapfit, would it make sense to glue some of the larger non-moving parts together for extra strength? (the choice of the Leo was a mix of "it was one of the only ones at the hobby lobby from a series i'd seen" and "its actually one of my favorite Gundam Wing suits".. (right after heavy arms.) plus it was on sale so i got it for about $6. :)
It would be nice to see a comparison between this kit and the Robot Damashii figure. I can already see a few slight cosmetic differences, but how do they both feel in the hand? Is the figure more poseable or durable than the model kit? Are their accessories interchangeable?
If they would make a 1:100 scale Master Grade leo I would run out and buy it, I'm not going to lie I'm getting a little fatigued from all the GM's they keep cranking out😐, and some of the new GM's look kind of goofy😓
I could see them doing an Re/100 version instead of a MG since the Leo is a pretty simple grunt mobile suit. In my opinion that would be the way to go as it also makes getting more than one easier on the wallet.
Do you suppose the backpack would be able to have a striker pack plugged into it? Well, not the Aile Pack, considering that rarely ever fits onto non-Strike mobile suits.
Yeah, not a lot of clearance. When I order it, I'll post whether or not the Full Package backpack from the Build Strike fits, though I am doubtful. It also has some over-the-shoulder stuff, so it probably won't have clearance.
