- Ahead of this weekends #FrenchGP, Tommo, Aldas and Haydon re-design the Paul Ricard circuit which has 167 different circuit possibilities.
We then take the new layout design, built it in Assetto Corsa, then see who is quickest!

The safety issue with the backward going chicane on the straight. Yikes.
Its only a safety issue when coming into it, but there's plenty of runoff for everything except a total brake failure to get stopped in.
@@CAAStudios if they go straight on, and someone is taking the chicane it would be a horrible accident

@@emmata98 If the exit on both of the hairpin is wider i think an overtake would be possible. Instead it'd just be long beach last 2 corner on iracing
I liked the triple chicane
My problem with the triple chicane is protecting those who have finished the last corner from somebody overshooting into the path of them

Re-design Yas Marina! For the love of god, we need at least a decent track for a season finale! Since money talks in F1 and we are stuck in Abu Dhabi for the foreseeable, at least make the track good 💪

i think it's a really awesome layout, and could be a very interesting gp, BUT i think safety wise they won't allow the double chicane, beacause they're coming back towards the straight (even with the proper barriers) and if something should happen you get a car at 300 km/h that could overcome the barriers and go straight into you
Never break these 3 up, Veloce have stumbled onto an absolute winner in the boys!! Not sure about the track but love the content 🙂

Outside of the triple chicane and the wonky kerbing and track limits on turn 2 it's a good layout
if someone outbreaks themselves on the triple chicane and locks up, there will be some major t-boning. RIP health and safety
I don't why everybody cuts the corner of : "Double droit du Beausset", it is nearly what defines this track and is challenging for drivers 🤷♂️

@@justinprins2572 "Signes" is nice too ... but with the GP layout and the chicane in the middle, the cars setup have too much downforce and not enough speed to make it challenging, like it was in the 70-80's
it sucks imo
I have to say ... I like the France GP in F1 2020 very much. It's nice and flowy in the most parts of the track. For race maybe it's not that cool but to drive it in Quali or something it's a nice to drive for me.

Something good about this layout is that the pit exit won't be coming out on the racing line
That hairpin in the middle makes all the difference. But you need some barriers in between.

the only solution to improve the f1 race in paul ricard is to use the mistral straight without any chicane in the middle, this route that you proposed, in addition to not offering the safety that the stretch requires, would make the grand prix more blocked

The triple hairpin reminds me of the london eprix circuit’s triple hairpin
When I was a kid my kid brother had a grand prix game for the Spectrum. Although there were many ccircuits available the one I played !most was Paul Ricard, mainly because of the long straight ( no chicane). I will always associate the place with those days. Nowadays I get a migraine!

Reversing track direction, triple chicane.... perhaps some future US circuits could hire y'all as design consultants.
i realy like the layout! maybe turn 2 and the tripple-chicane need a little bit of a rework for a better flow. though I would switch (or rework) both left-turns of the second turn around (turns 16+17?) so that you have another overtaking spot before entering a wavey-flow section.
this track looks insanely fun to race on!

You know, other than that silly double hairpin on the Mistral straight (Tommo was right, should have been just a chicane) thats actually a really cool layout, very fast and flowing, I'd love to see them actually use it.

Personally I would have just cut it entirely and gone for the longest straight possible :)
People ten to forget that this track was never meant for Grand Prix racing after the ownership change in the late 90s. The new ownership revamped the track and converted it into a Test facility, which is why you see so many layouts. Its the fault of the FIA for including this in the calendar. Should have just gone back to Magny Cours.
Use the sprinkler system installed at the track.
Probably second best configuration. Best would be without the triple chicane

Your Circuit Paul Ricard redesign was good except for the long straight, instead of the ''S Chicane'', just do it straight along it.

On paper the triple chicane looked horrible, but on track I liked it and thought it added character and broke up the faster sections before and after

As awesome as it would be, Bathurst is just too dangerous for F1, they'd have to ruin the track to race there.

i was so pissed because they had the oportunity for a huge straight for a slipstream but they put a stupid triple chicane
30 seconds in and you are desperate to have a turn 1 for "carnage" because it's fun and makes you laugh. that describes what you are.
