Another tip: you can swipe left on backspace key to quickly and precisely delete part of a text which is very convenient
There are quite a few keyboard gestures that get some work done on gboard.

Few more things:
1. You can just double tap space bar for full-stop.
2. You can put any image as your keyboard background theme.
3. You can use emojis anywhere and also you can search emojis by entering relevant name.
4. You can also control the height of Gboard.

How do I do numbers 2 and 4? I can resize the Samsung keyboard but not Google. How do I change the background on Google keyboard?
Gboard is really handy to use when communicating on your phone. The gestures feature is very handy and saves you well needed time. I have also found that it has the most themes available on the app store. It should be offline by default. I have used a keyboard and immediately I had to rest Google passwords so always use airplane mode when entering passwords and then put it back on to submit.

Thanks!! I was stuvk on an English keyboard I didn't like. The Y and Z weren't in the spaces I was used to. Thanks to your video I went into settings and language and selected the one I'm used to. Phew! thanks! PS I love the slide keyboard and use it all the time. Getting so good I do not need to really to look at it as I slide around.

I still prefer the Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard, because it does everything that Gboard does plus more.

Good... Gboard doesn't save @ and doesn't save numbers in memory. i always have to retype anything that starts with a hashtag
Same. It's more accurate in my experience. And I like the anesthetics of it more. The keys are closer together so it's easier to type on for people with skinnier fingers.
Yeah if you have a PC or a tablet PC, the continuity is much better when typing on SwiftKey with Android vs. Gboard. (Universal Keyboard between PC & Android is also a main point too)

iPhone user since 2007!! (yup had the first iPhone) and have used Gboard with my iPhone all along. 3 days ago I bought the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Gboard experience on it is a total gamechanger!! Its the best I have experienced. With iPhone, it's not been that good ever!!

Wow these features are so good I stopped using Gboard altogether.
The recent version of gboard (and the main reason I haven't switched back to SwiftKey) is grammar correction. Sometimes it's a hit or miss but it's better than having nothing.

One feature is missing from it. Split keyboard feature on landscape mode like Microsoft SwiftKey, which is very useful and I can see the message while typing on landscape mode. You can check it out

I wish i could make personal corrections for phrases or words that would be automatically be changed even though auto correction is off. For instance whenever i type: "idk" and I hit space, that it would change this to "I don't know".
So I'm on my phone with gboard installed. I want to use it to dictate an email. I click on gboard icon and I get Settings menu. Can't find out how to actually use it
Personally,I love Gboard because of the haptic feedback even on my iphone which its keyboard doesn't support haptics
copied many features from SWYPE keyboard which is still the best due to the copy/cut & past feature just by swiping to C/X &V. i still use it and its simply awesome.

I noticed on my s9 I change the font on the phone and it changes it on the GBoard as well. I have a Samsung S20 but doesn't seem to change like my s9 or there isn't any option. Would you know how.
I miss so much T9 functionality from my LG phones :(
Also the background colour of letters and numbers being diffenent..
PS. Everything else mentioned on the video was literately possible on lg V30 5 years ago

Can you compare it to swiftkey and give us your opinion please, it would be nice to know which suits and individual depending on his use, and maybe there are hidden featured that I haven't descovered yet.. I am swiftkey user "for the moment"
I've alternated between Gboard, swiftkey, and the samsung keyboard. They're all great! Gboard themes are easier to create and choose in comparison to samsung though.
I cannot for the life of me find the gboard themes on my s22 ultra. Can you help please.

For me personally I prefer Swiftkey more because Microsoft has knocked this out of the park with the auto correct and punctuation after your glide the words. It has everything that the Gboard has but better as the emojis are more accurate in predictions but all in all both good keyboards but Swiftkey takes the crown for me between the two.
I agree. I've tried several keyboards, but always go back to my SwiftKey. Of course, SwiftKey also know my writing style better. The "learning period" of a new keyboard can be an actual pain in the peach.
I've used SwiftKey for 8 yrs. Hard to believe this will beat it but I'll give it a go.

I've tried SwiftKey a few times, but always ended up removing it. I just installed it; in fact, I'm using it to compose this comment. I'll give it another shot; maybe it's better now.
@@sgringo same with me. I always try to use less thirdy apps and use more Android system inbuilt functionality. I don't even use a app for VPN, just use it from inbuilt settings 😂

Thanks… and I’m so frustrated. I loved my gboard with all its features and now something has gone terribly wrong. I can’t get that to toe to shore anymore that has those features. It just the number row at the top… any ideas on how to get back the top row?
I can't get the "schedule text clock" to show on my icon options. When I press on the settings gear I DO see the little clock icon for about half a second, but then it just immediately goes away and into "settings" for Gboard where anything for scheduling a text can not be found.

Here is one mine favourite shortcut gboard.
To delete complete word or sentence, just hold the cancel key and swipe right to left.
I wish that us Galaxy s22 users would get the Google Assistant update to give us faster and more accurate voice typing on Google keyboard . I have used the pixel 6 voice typing and it was vastly Superior to the voice typing we get on Galaxy phones
