This is the best video that i’ve found for this, a smart knowledgeable guy talking about this.

I feel like it’s sometimes necessary for elite and older guys to get back all the way to these basics. Thank yall for all the free content

I'd love to see a video like this for high schoolers.

I'm a dad who told my kid to throw strikes, because I think accuracy is important. But a week ago I told him to start focusing on velo and he did in a game and did well. So I think for now we'll work on velocity. He also plays a lot of soccer which I recommend for athleticism.

First of all thanks for the great advice! It has made me rethink how I coach my son's youth travel team.
You mentioned a follow-up video for youth drills but I haven't been able to locate it. Do you have a link to that?
    Thanks!

Thanks Ryan! We actually have yet to make a drills video. There wasn't a ton of interest at the time, so we put it on the backburner. Will likely revisit eventually!

Thoughts on water Polo (Fall) and Jiu Jitsu (Year Round) for athletic development?

I think any sport is better than none. There are so many different sports out there. Just pick one or two. My kid does soccer and snowboarding. I wish there were time for more sports.

Swimming or surfing is also a good sport for arm strength development as well as cardio/breathing and full body workouts.

If you think about how power is produced in Karate and connect the dots with how athletic pitchers are that come from Japan it all starts to make sense.

I can't find the top drills for youth pitchers video referenced. Was it ever made?

Unfortunately, we have not made the drills video yet. There wasn't a ton of interest at the time.

Sure, the 13 year old who throws 85mph may not be thinking about mechanics, but somebody’s doing the thinking for him. That’s why he got brought to Tread. You don’t pitch 85 and throw strikes “naturally.”

lol I don’t listen to my coach when he says just throw strikes

@SquishDaBug good for him, he is on the right track. Don't get caught up in all of this velocity stuff at such a young age. Plenty of time for it. I picked up my last 5-6 mph at 21-22
