There is a lot of publicity on the waterjet but no video on a conversion from zdrive or propeller shaft to a waterjet even on an old Sea Ray 390 or Trojan F32 or other style boat. It would be interesting to see a conversion of this type from a waterjet manufacturer being able to compare fuel consumption, stability, maneuvering and performance. a manufacturer could carry out such a project in order to enhance their product

Waterjets are fun. They give you great maneuvering control and promise much higher efficiency at high speeds. But that flexibility comes with the price of more subtle limits on performance. Used incorrectly, waterjets perform worse than propellers. This video focuses on the merits of waterjets, with focus on the most important factor: efficiency.

I used to run these in country. 300 gal tank = 300 mile range. That was with the twin Hamilton HJ292. These drives look the same. From an operators standpoint they were bullet proof. 15,000 lbs craft with a 6" draft on plane handled beautifully. And the hydraulic system could handle bringing the craft to a complete stop in a boat length.
