1. 2019 - my newborn son died two months prior. I had a PPP.
2. 2020 - I got divorced because my husband became an a-hole and mistreated me.
3. 2021 - I got laid off from my job due to inability to work because I got prosthetic and can't meet requirements for it anymore. And I couldn't walk without crutches at the time due to recent surgery.

My worst Christmas was several years ago I ended up in the emergency room because the Christmas tree fell over and knocked my glasses off and poked me in the eye. So, in my case it wasn't a 200-Shot, Range-Model Air Rifle that would shoot my eye out per the Christmas Story movie, it was the Christmas tree! 😆

My worst Christmas was when my Mama died on December 22. Not one of my family members (Father,@ brothers, sisters cousins) none of them even called me nor came to see me. I was all alone newly divorced with my 9 year old Son. I remember crying and sobbing as I wrapped all of his Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. I've only had my heart broken one other time in my life like this. Then those " family" members ever critical of me.

My father was an abuser and a narcissisti. He controlled everyone. Except for me. If he and I butted heads over anything he would punish me by not speaking to me and anyone caught speaking to me would get cut off too. I hate to say it but I am glad he is gone

My worst Christmas was after the death of my son. I tried to be festive, but it barely worked. Then I got divorced next year two days before Christmas. And year later I got laid off two weeks before Christmas and couldn't walk without crutches because of surgery.
This Christmas it was all right thank God!

Didn’t have a bad Christmas this year, but I DID have a bad Boxing Day. The power went out and my grandpa soiled the bed by urinating and defecating in his sleep. And it took hours for the power to be restored and we only had backup power from a generator but no running water
Here in New England, USA, we’re used to bad storms and the power going off. Fill your bathtub with water so you can flush your toilet, etc. Keep gallons of fresh water so you can make tea, cook, etc.

Not my story but when I was working at my old hospital job in housekeeping, I had to work Christmas Day and this lady’s kids and grandkids brought her gifts to the room she was in. Right as they were getting off the elevator, she coded. The doctors and nurses couldn’t revive her.I still remember her daughter saying “Is that my mom’s room?!” and she let out the most painful scream I’ve ever heard. I had already lost my mom by then a month after Christmas a few years before and I wanted to comfort her so badly but it wasn’t allowed. My worst Christmas was last year: I was going to spend it with my family, and the plan was that I would bring my suitcase and the bag of presents to work on my last day, then I would text my parents when the day was over and they would come and pick me up.
During our morning coffee break, I get a text from my mother; they all have Covid. Luckily, a friend of hers got in touch to wish her a happy Christmas, and she told her what was happening. It was then arranged for me to spend Christmas with the friend and her family instead
The bad part was that I was worried about my sister - she had an autoimmune disease and Covid really hit her hard the first time she got it. But they all came through in the end, and we got together in the new year for a meal, so it wasn’t too bad 🙂
A few years ago my gran was taken into hospital on Christmas eve. She died on new years eve. A couple of years later I had to have an operation on my wrist -on Xmas eve A couple of years after that my husbands brother was rushed off to hospital after having a stroke - on Christmas eve. 2021 my mum was taken seriously ill on yes you guessed it - Xmas eve. This last Xmas 2022 I stepped off the pavement while out shopping for a few extra food items and ruptured my achilles tendon - on Xmas eve. I'm beginning to dread Xmas eve!
My son was taken back to the hospital on Christmas day, (he was just released December 22nd). He's still there.

This is my worst Christmas
We had decided to celebrate a private Christmas with the family as we were mourning the passing of my grandfather. Half an hour before midnight on Christmas, when we were already feeling better and a bit encouraged, we realized that one of the cats had a slight peeling wound under its neck (it had scratched itself, apparently due to allergies) but my mother got stubborn thinking that the cat had cut himself with something. Since no one sided with her, she locked herself in her room, ruining the entire celebration. We literally spent Christmas spread out, my father and a brother in the living room, my other brother and I in the hallway calming down the cats, and my mother locked in her room. Honestly I already lost my Christmas spirit

A few years ago My ex of 28 years broke up with me in september. In october i had surgery and developed blood clots. In November my cat passed away unexpectedly and christmas morning i fell in the shower and broke my neck. It was my first christmas alone and i was making dinner for my mom and i. I struggled to finish making everything and she came for dinner and by the time we were done eating i was in so much pain she took me to the er. They transported me to our states University hospital. So the rest of my christmas was spent there.
This Christmas I put on a pair of pants only to get a sharp pain in my leg. Thinking it was a hair I scratched at it. A few moments later, I felt a sharper pain lower on my leg. I rolled up my pant leg to find a baby scorpion chilling out. I threw off my pants, and I still haven't found the sucker. For about half an hour, it still felt like it was on my leg. The damn things hurt. The next day, my leg was burning hot for most of the day. Can't bring myself to wear the pants again, and now whenever I feel an itch or a pin prick, I think it's a scorpion. 😞

My son died on Mother's Day but I think Christmas might be worse. It eventually got better for me but it took a good number of years 😕
2022 was definitely my worse, i got Covid a few days before and had to stay away from my family, and then the day after Christmas i had go to the hospital via ambulance because i had seizures :/

That’s not good. I got an infected cat bite. Husbands cat didn’t approve of my attempt to pet her. Two puncture wounds and three rounds of IV antibiotics. Woooo maybe next year.

Got my Omicron for New Year's, and so did a bunch of the party's attendees, regardless as limited as we kept the attendance, and held it outdoors around a fire pit.

My third daughter spent a month in neurointensive care after a ruptured aneurysm and big stroke. Including her 26th birthday.
My father died on thanksgiving my husband soulmate died a week before Christmas my mother died on New Year’s Day. And this year my 15 year old cat had to be put down on December 20.
No holidays for me evermore.

My brother died on December 5, our dads birthday, daddy died on September 24, 3 days before my sisters birthday,(8 months apart),1 pug died on valentine day, her mom died on Good Friday, my 18 year old cat died one day before Easter a year later,all in a two year span, I celebrate holidays on different days now, some never again.😢

3:00. Over here in the UK, the usual advice is to leave things like that where they are after reporting them. If you rip them off, the police have no chance of tracking down whoever put them on. I'm not claiming the cops will get anywhere with the investigation, but at least give them a chance.
This past Christmas, I got a thigh & foot covered in second degree burns. 😣 Scars do not look that bad, though.
I suffered a second degree burn to my knuckle, which led to the discovery that my cancer had returned for a third round.
Christmas day, early morning, I was still a teenager. The house phone is ringing. No one wants to answer it. We all know it's the hospital calling to say that my grandad, who was in a coma, has died.
Christmas day has never been what it was since that.

Holy shit! is this what our society had become? i agree, smashing your noggin or breaking your leg near Christmas is a bummer but we've got people in Ukraine fighting for their nation and getting blown up defending it! This is more inspiring than the war of independence from Britain in 1776. Brother and Sisters, let's put thing in perspective and understand that a poorly planned gift or a dry turkey is so much less disappointing than an uncooperative sales clerk.

My dad died Christmas day and my stepmoms birthday is Christmas day.
My Christmas times were 👍 😊 nothing bad had happened aside from my grandma breaking her tail bone by falling down on her butt but other than that it was great.
Last Christmas our youngest cat decided to lick our fake tree every chance she got 🤦♀️😂.
Possibly the worst Christmas So Far 2022 December. It was Christmas day, midday. I got a mini-refridgerator, I was carrying it to my room, impatient, wanting to get it in and hooked up, I grabbed it wrong, there wasn't legs at the back for me to hold, the metal started to hurt, digging into my fingers, when we finally put it down, I dropped it too fast.
My hand went up, and I grated my thumb against the back of the fridge, so I spent the next ten minutes with my thumb under the tap, while the skin on the side of my thumb was sticking up, to this day, we're about halfway through January, now we have pushed the skin back down, but now there will be a scar, if I could send a picture I would, but it was heavily bruised, bled for a couple days, now it looks like a red bubble on the side of my thumb.
Christmas Day 2023, my father in law received his Christmas gift slippers, complained that they were too tight and died a few hours later 😢

I made a small donation to the American Heart Association in my son’s name, at his request. Along with his other present.
That's very nice and he requested it, the fella in this video is suffering financial destitute and health issues, they probably would have wanted/ needed the money spent any number of other ways; but a charitable donation could help the giver, if taxes work that way in Canada. Just kind of feels like a selfish gift in that instance.

The shrink knew I was only depressed, but he milked my family and insurance for everything he could. I've never recovered, and instead of depression and autism, I now have depression, autism, and PTSD.

I was in the military stationed in Germany. I had CQ on Christmas eve and my wife and 18 month old son were going to surprise me by coming by at midnight Christmas morning but she and my son were killed by a drunk driver. So I think I had a worse Christmas than anyone.

Christmas Day 2022…My 96 year old mama was walking to car with huge bowl of banana pudding & fell, breaking her humerus one at the shoulder. Had to crawl on concrete to get inside to call for help. Too old to operate on, can’t cast so Docs put it in a sling & is moves when she does. This is the most painful bone break one can have & she is in horrific pain. They are skimping on the 1 pain pill & giving Tylenol. Really? When did pain become imagined & not real🙄 What has happened to the medical professions lately? Just cruel. Doc ordered round the clock ice to her shoulder, nurse refuses to give it to mama cause it won’t help? When I was a nurse I followed doctor’s orders. Hope I never get sick enough to be admitted now!

I didn't have a very good Christmas this year. I TRIED, but circumstances just weren't very cooperative. My granddaughter had to be put back in a group home because her meds balance was off, and she was hurting herself and others. I miss her terribly.
Our worst Christmas was when we came home from my auntie's place and dad discovered he had lost his keys. He climbed up the ladder to get through my bedroom window and broke my Wedgewood vase. He let us in and there was a most awful smell, The chicken which was cooking was off. In those days we only had chicken at Christmas, luckily mum had cooked a piece of pork
Covid positive the morning of 24th, husband, me and Our toddler ill. fought with a nasty enlarged Knot on the base of my head due to a skin infection on the head for a week before, worsened but I put through with ibuprofen. 28th the doctor tells me it's an abscess and has to be cut open. 24th is my birthday by the way. Yeeei

My 9 yr. Old disabled grandson was in the hospital Christmas weekend. His doctor had volunteered to work Christmas. The hospital gave him several nice presents.
My Mom had a medical procedure done 2 days before Christmas and didn't feel well on the holiday itself, so we couldn't really do anything. She's doing a lot better now, though.

I don't know, my grandfather who had Alzheimer's asked me who I was Christmas of 2019.
My aunt is at the early stages of this and she did not recognize me. After she took a good look she said I was not her niece because her niece is small. It's odd that she can't remember people's names or how they are related to her but she remembers me being thin and called me fat!😨😄😅😆🤣🤣🤣
Looks like the surgeon did a great job at fixing that broken femur! Sorry you are hurt, but at least it was repaired well. Could have been far worse. Bonus if it was someplace with paid health care.
Not me but my ex-husband. He called to tell me his mother died on December 11th of 2022. I don't really see him except if I run into him at the store. I mostly felt sorry for him and his family because of losing a loved one a few weeks before Christmas.
House fire on December 18th, 2020. Came that close to surviving 2020 unscathed. Thankfully it wasn't freezing cold outside when it happened. Lost several cats, though.

My worst Christmas so far was in 2022 and there was a huge storm that had a tree fall down and it landed on and broke our power cable so we had to double up on clothes and everything because we had no power to anything in the house, even heat. It happened the night of the day before Christmas Eve and it was covered in snow so it wasn’t fixed till a week later after all the storms and snow was cleared up. We had to buy a generator after the second day because we needed to power at least the toilets and get some heat but it would last a few hours till it turned off and it was super loud. And of course it was put outside my bedroom window and underneath my bedroom where the garage was. It’s not super bad because it could’ve been way way worse but compared to my other Christmases in the past, that one was the most unpleasant.
Okay, that last one was adorable.
My tree caught on fire my cat was in that tree when we got her out we took her to the vet we did not put her down then I broke my leg and then my cat ran away

Even as a child I wondered why their was no mention of Xmas or Christs birthday anywhere in The Bible? Later I got confirmation that it is because Xmas is simply a manmade or (pagan) holiday.

Morning of December 25, 1980 my aunt was shot in the face and killed by her significant other (I was 10 and not sure if it was a husband or boyfriend). At the SAME time, her daughter was in the hospital giving birth to her first grandchild.
I fractured my hip this Christmas morning, if you count that, lol. Six to eight weeks recovery, minimum. 😕

I almost died in a car accident early Christmas motivation because some ass holes decided to drink and drive on Christmas Eve of 94. My cousin has been paralyzed since then and brother lost his spleen due to internal bleeding.

Unrelated - Christmas Eve, when I was in my single digits, I don't remember what age, 4? 5? My dad attempted to lift me to give me a piggyback ride, or shoulder ride, and accidentally dislocated my right wrist, popping it out of connection, sort of. After stuffing us all in the car in winter coats, in a snowfall, and driving to the ER, we waited with me sitting in a wheelchair, because there weren't enough chairs. At a certain point, I figured out the mechanics of getting the wheelchair to roll, which meant I had to operate my wrist. When my parents asked me how I was doing that, and didn't it hurt, they and the staff surmised that my parents having stuffed my arm back into my winter coat sleeve popped it back into kilter, and the ER declared my wrist fine again.
At least all of my Christmas stuff was good. Feel sorry for all of you having rotten Christmas seasons.
