Reno Nevada Travel Tour 4K

- This is a virtual travel guide for Downtown Reno Nevada and was done in October of 2021. Reno offers a lot in terms of tourism and even for its local residents. Located just outside of the world famous Lake Tahoe, Reno is the largest city in the region located to the east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The city itself was incorporated in 1901 and has a population of around 450,000 people in the metropolitan area including Sparks. In this Reno Travel guide we walk about and down the main strip in Reno called Virginia Street, check out Midtown Reno then finish up at the hotel casino call the Peppermill. I did not get down to the Atlantis Hotel this time around but I did check out the El Dorado and the Silver Legacy hotel. Thank you for this. I was a security supervisor at the Peppermill in the late 90s until 2000, but I've been gone for a little over 20 years now. Seeing all of this brought tears to my eye. I've lived all over the country, but Reno has always been the one place that I considered 'home', and I dearly miss it.
You lived here in the good times! I’m from CA I live here now for 2 years. I love it. It’s still a great place but it’s def eastern CA now lol

Reno is my home town, I moved to Oregon for my husband so he can be with his family but damn do I miss Reno so bad, like so so bad 😭

We lived in Reno from 1999 to 2003 then relocated back to England (now living in Texas). Great to see the place again

Thanks for the video. I'm going to Reno for the first time in a few weeks. I plan on walking around the same neighborhood. I'm thinking of buying a retirement home in Carson City. I woke up to why so many people are retiring in Nevada: no state income tax, relatively cheap real estate, and great surroundings. I'm also glad to hear you saying the the people seem nice.
Lovely tour of Reno. By the way Donner’s Pass is in California, near Truckee. Thanks for letting us hear the Truckee River. Reno is great for outdoor enthusiasts. Patagonia has an outlet store downtown.

Hi there! Thank you very much for sharing this tour of Reno! I have been there once for work (I only fly my boss there and take him back home; so had time to tour). I probably am the only guy on the earth that had a hotel in the city, but don’t know what is downtown Reno as I spent the whole time exploring down Hwy 395 and the eastern Sierras. Very fun.
We went out for pizza the other night here in our town of Ouray CO. The bartender/waiter was from Reno. So, I look forward to returning to tour the city!

It has been a while since I've been to Midtown. I'm impressed seems more walkable thanks to the wider sidewalks and road diet. You can see on what it used to look like in 2019 from Google Street View.
They didn't change much .born here in 1981.. so idk what you mean different . They moved like two sidewalks ..that's it.

Thank You So Much!!! i grew up there in the 60s best time of my life now i really want to come home 7:32- -7:36 pillars at the steps near the whale you wanted to show us they talk about The Mapes it used to stand there in that ?park? A lot of memories all good ones the train for the little kids at Idlewild park that went around the pond wonder if its still there been back for hot aug nites but forget to look every time ,anybody know if its still there?

It's always weird seeing things like this about Reno 😂 it's kinda weird, cause it almost looks like Reno could be a really cool bumpin city. But the thing is, it has awful public transit. So no one walks and takes the bus. Everyone drives. Busses in Reno are only used by bums and crazy people. It might look like it's deserted cause of covid. But that's pretty much what it looks like all the time, unless there's an event 😂 the only difference is there's more cars driving around. Also Junkee is a staple for sure. Best thrift store

junkee's is billed as a recycled clothing, furniture, funky store. my daughter loved to shop there. i we lived there from 1996 until 2018.

I like both for different reasons. Reno really is a small little city where as Vegas is so busy and entertaining. Reno has Tahoe nearby and that’s great

Reno really sucks. Avoid at all costs
Just came back from visiting Reno, been there twice. The casinos downtown are nice but man once you get outside of the casinos it was not pleasant seeing drug addicts and hobos all over downtown. Midtown Reno is nice, Peppermill is awesome, I also enjoyed Sparks. Next time I come out have to go to Lake Tahoe. For me Reno is a good place to visit but not to live. Just my opinion though of course.
How come you never made a video on the Portland that's on the west coast. You did a video on the one that is on the other side. It is a much smaller city.
