I agree with most of your points except the role of the "Influencer"...they don't have to be objective, they have to 'influence" and that is the biggest issue with them. Great video and message.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. Panasonic had the rare opportunity to create the perfect street, travel, and photo journalistic camera all in one body. Like you I shoot Panasonic as well. I started with MFT, the G7 and now I shoot the LUMIX S5II. How do you create a camera with no mechanical shutter, no EVF, and a tilting screen? It makes no sense. Those of use who’re long time fans of the LUMIX brand were hoping for a full-frame update to the MFT GX9. But this all might be because of their partnership with Leica. Who knows. The Nikon Zf is a better buy than the S9, full stop.
I 100% agree, and I would point out that most of us who don't like what Panasonic did are actually fans of Panasonic. The ZF is a great camera, Nikon is on a roll with their launches. I would also point out that a GX9 succesor with 4K 60P from the GH7 would be an amazing camera
@@ModernVersusVintage exactly. This was a missed opportunity for them to release a successor to the GX9 but I suspect Leica put a stop to that with the release of D-Lux 8. Imagine if the S9 was a full-frame version of a GX9, that would have rocked the industry. What makes me even more annoyed is RUclipsrs trying to find the good with the S9. There is no good.🤣🤣🤣
@d.idowuolutosin4250 There are some good things about it like the software. The hardware is a letdown, and the sensor is a bit long in the tooth. At the same time, like I said, with the right price and the right lens support it would be a better camera
The S9 for video has exactly the same capability as your S5 ii, plus a few new features. The only limit is time. I doubt you shoot 15 minute clips. For video it's a miniature S5 ii. So, if you can make use of the smallest form factor and want the Panasonic video features and quality that you claim to favor this camera exactly fits the bill.Few videographers use evfs to shoot. A videographer also does not need a mechanical shutter.
i have to agree with you on a lot of points... influencers are a big problem and even people getting free gear to review it's not always easy to stay true to your real opinions cause if you are too negative and have a smallish channel you won't get any new products back from that brand also the 20mn limit is crazy to me... is it even in 4k 25fps ?
Thanks for commenting. The S9 has the following recording limits: 10min for 6K, 15min for 4K and 20 min for Full HD. I agree that it is a difficult thing to balance integrity and putting food on the table
I think influencers are discrediting themselves in the same way "mainstream" media has. They gained credibility by not being "sponsored", by not having the pressure of companies on them. They were just "normal consumers" that voiced their honest opinions because they suddenly could (thanks to emergence of platforms such as RUclips). Nowadays influencers ARE the "mainstream media". They are given preferential treatment, they gain priority access to products, they are flown to expensive events. That alone already affects their opinions, whether they admit it or not. And their reviews reflect it: they are mostly sterile, overly positive, toothless videos that are designed to appease companies first, so the authors of the videos don't lose their privileges.
They tried to jump in the gap that the year long X100VI waiting times has at the moment. The pricing the lack of lenses the marketing blitz it all felt very rushed and aimed at the X100VI. Wrong strategy absolutely not a bad camera though I am waiting for a loan to decide if I can cope with the sub par built quality but I love the idea of that camera. The pricing is not an issue it sells on compactness, see the X-H2 vs X-T5 vs X-T50. The pricing makes no sense, the X-H2 especially soon after the X-T5 launched was almost the same price yet the X-H2 is a significantly better camera. Same for the X-T50, it is a worse camera than the X-T5 yet it sells for just a $200 less if that.
I was telling the same that this camera is overpriced. It sells for 1699 euros on amazon plus the 27% VAT in my country that is a fortune. I would happily pas like 1200 euros for it.
@iammz81 In my country, it's around 1700€. Prices in the US are not what they seem. They don't usually add sales tax or other taxes. Sometimes, you buy a product that has a price point on the counter, and then you pay another price at the cash register
@iammz81 sorry to hear that you have such high prices, maybe you can buy from neighboring countries. I've been to Budapest, one of the most underrated cities in Europe, I like it even more than Vienna and I've bought a few rolls of Fortepan.

@rscotthinkle Thank you for your feedback. I agree that the "influencing" part is not ok😂

The idea is very good, just add an evf, a mechanical shutter, and take my 😂
