Is it me, or do you also feel like there's some odd snootiness about sweet gourmand perfumes? People see them as juvenile sometimes I think, to be honest, who cares? Isn't that what fragrance is all about? Scent memory! Fun! Joy! Deliciousness! These all sound gorgeous. Maybe not something I'd always want to wear, but something I would love to experience 👌
You're 100% right about the smoothness. The association with juvenile fragrances is sometimes apt when fragrances smell like straight up sugar. These are not like that (other than the one that is straight up cotton candy). These are only appropriate for people who wish to smell like ACTUAL desserts. I don't think they're for everyone (well, maybe the floral ones could be because they don't actually smell like food), but they are 100% FOR ME!! :)
Yes! There's def snootiness! I'd much rather smell like a yummy marshmallow and smell edible than smell like a wealthy 90 yr old woman!...Chanel comes to mind...

Ryan could smell the similarities between that one and Lira, but I don't get any Lira vibes off Douceur Brulée. It's more about the pastry than the lemon. It's just...YUMMY!

Oh Bonnie, you will NOT be sorry if you like a nice marshmallow. It's not priced crazy at all. In fact, it's a total bargain considering the performance and the fact that it's supporting a woman who puts love and care into every bottle. I can't recommend Delizia di Marshmallow enough! It's Ryan's favourite of my whole collection, and it's just as wonderful at Christmas as it is on a cool summer's evening! I'm basing my pronunciation of her name and the name of the brand on what I hear Chris from The Perfume Nest say, so if I'm wrong, she's my scapegoat! :p These are amazing. Truly. I like it but my son can’t stand it so I don’t wear it. 🤣 Sérénade aux fraises is delicious! And Gardénia Sucré is as the name suggest a sweet white floral. Dangerous one for you there might be jasmine hiding in there… 😅

I think you made a comment about not wearing gourmand fragrances to go out to dinner, but I disagree. I think they are probably the best type of scent to wear if there is going to be food involved. I think some other scents (patchouli heavy or intensely perfume-y scents) overwhelm the aromas of the food, while gourmand scents blend in better!

It would not, my scent twin. When I grow up I'm going to LOVE flower perfume. Yup yup yup. For now, though, I'm happy to let others have all the flowers. Let ME eat (and smell like) CAKE!
YES!!! Ice cream is VERY important. I'm sorry you're trying to diet. I find that eating more raw vegetables without limiting my intake of anything else balances me out. Weird how ADDING something to the diet works better than LIMITING other stuff, but it does. I read a book called The Gabriel Method and it changed how I think about food. I started eating vegetable soup (homemade) and salads with every meal and bam! 30 pounds gone. But everyone has their own way. I think you're PERFECT just the way you are, diet or no diet. :)
I quit smoking and gained a lot of weight too. You must have been the tinies thing on the planet! That's not helpful, I know. What's also not helpful is me telling you that your body RIGHT NOW, CURRENTLY is GOALS for me. I'd give ANYTHING to be that thin. I always say, "we are always someone's before and someone's after." You're my after (meaning that's what I want to look like when I'm done loosing weight). Again, I know that's not helpful, but it is true.

Honey as a note smells a bit dirty to me. Some people say that it is animalic I think that may be what I smell when a frag has honey. Loved these reviews and it made me smile while I enjoyed my coffee this morning. :)
Ya. I can see "dirty," and I also agree with "animalic" in so far as i actually smell something like pee when I smell honey. Hi Julija, I don't like gourmands as a rule, they tend to give me headache. But I'll watch your video anyway 😁😂 Oh yes, I do have two gourmands: Carthusia Terra Mia and Tesori d'Oriente Byzantium. I adore them both. Julija, if you need a coffee perfume, you MUST get a sample of Terra Mia. It's a most delicious espresso accompanied with hazelnut and vanilla. There's florals and a hint of citruses in the background to give it airiness

You know gourmand are not my thing yet you are tempting me with this marshallow scent. With Douceur Brûléen do you think that it's inspired by Crème Brûlée? I had to look what was a funnel cake, as we do not have it here, the closer would be churros that we have in Carnaval, with also waffle and Merveille ( a traditional fritter which is mostly flavoured with orange blossom ). Yes, I'm hungry now😆.
I do know that gourmands are not your thing, yet here you are, supporting me, because you're a true friend. I think that although you might not want to WEAR the scent, you might find it pleasant. It's exactly that: pleasant. Douceur Brulee might indeed have been inspired by creme brulee. And funnel cake is probably EXACTLY what you state - a fritter, but here we put cinnamon and ice cream usually. For the ones I've tried, they are all above average except for the zucchero filate one. But I didn't try that one on skin. Maria Collett has a video on the cotton candy one and she might talk about the longevity of that one. These LITERALLY smell like food. Not perfume. FOOD. So if you think you'd enjoy that (as I certainly do) I hope you get to try them. They are so...uplifting somehow? I love them. And I love having you here. :) xo

If the sticker doesn't come off cleanly, get some lighter fluid to take off the "mess" instantly. :) If you do it, let me know how it goes. Packaging counts! I would say that Delizia di Marshmallow is worth the trouble to make the packaging prettier imho.

Bonbon au Lait, after the opening has toned down, smells so much like my beloved Fresh Cream from Philosophy. It lasts longer that Fresh Cream, and the price is great for the product. Have you had a chance to try any of Terry's creations?
Hi Nina. Isn't' that just the thing? There are a lot of fragrances that I love in real life, but not in perfumery. As far as honey goes, I've always had a strong aversion to honey as a food, and in scent I find it absolutely intolerable. The sense of smell, like our other senses, is a gift for so many reasons. Oh, I should have included a photo! It's white cake batter that's piped into deep fry oil making a kind of funnel shape. It's usually topped with other sweet things like ice cream and caramel. It's an American thing sold at carnivals. Fun and yummy.

Let me surprise you ma belle amie! I own three Kyse perfumes! 😆 All powerhouse fragrances. Don’t try Miele, it’s straight up honey. I like it but my son can’t stand it so I don’t wear it. 🤣 Sérénade aux fraises is delicious! And Gardénia Sucré is as the name suggest a sweet white floral. Dangerous one for you there might be jasmine hiding in there… 😅

I think you made a comment about not wearing gourmand fragrances to go out to dinner, but I disagree. I think they are probably the best type of scent to wear if there is going to be food involved. I think some other scents (patchouli heavy or intensely perfume-y scents) overwhelm the aromas of the food, while gourmand scents blend in better!

YES!!! Ice cream is VERY important. I'm sorry you're trying to diet. I find that eating more raw vegetables without limiting my intake of anything else balances me out. Weird how ADDING something to the diet works better than LIMITING other stuff, but it does. I read a book called The Gabriel Method and it changed how I think about food. I started eating vegetable soup (homemade) and salads with every meal and bam! 30 pounds gone. But everyone has their own way. I think you're PERFECT just the way you are, diet or no diet. :)

What's also not helpful is me telling you that your body RIGHT NOW, CURRENTLY is GOALS for me. I'd give ANYTHING to be that thin. I always say, "we are always someone's before and someone's after." You're my after (meaning that's what I want to look like when I'm done loosing weight). Again, I know that's not helpful, but it is true.

Honey as a note smells a bit dirty to me. Some people say that it is animalic I think that may be what I smell when a frag has honey. Loved these reviews and it made me smile while I enjoyed my coffee this morning. :)
Ya. I can see "dirty," and I also agree with "animalic" in so far as i actually smell something like pee when I smell honey. Oh yes, I do have two gourmands: Carthusia Terra Mia and Tesori d'Oriente Byzantium. I adore them both.
Julija, if you need a coffee perfume, you MUST get a sample of Terra Mia. It's a most delicious espresso accompanied with hazelnut and vanilla. There's florals and a hint of citruses in the background to give it airiness

You know gourmand are not my thing yet you are tempting me with this marshallow scent. With Douceur Brûléen do you think that it's inspired by Crème Brûlée? I had to look what was a funnel cake, as we do not have it here, the closer would be churros that we have in Carnaval, with also waffle and Merveille ( a traditional fritter which is mostly flavoured with orange blossom ). Yes, I'm hungry now😆.
I do know that gourmands are not your thing, yet here you are, supporting me, because you're a true friend. I think that although you might not want to WEAR the scent, you might find it pleasant. It's exactly that: pleasant. Douceur Brulee might indeed have been inspired by creme brulee. And funnel cake is probably EXACTLY what you state - a fritter, but here we put cinnamon and ice cream usually. For the ones I've tried, they are all above average except for the zucchero filate one. But I didn't try that one on skin. Maria Collett has a video on the cotton candy one and she might talk about the longevity of that one. These LITERALLY smell like food. Not perfume. FOOD. So if you think you'd enjoy that (as I certainly do) I hope you get to try them. They are so...uplifting somehow? I love them. And I love having you here. :) xo

Great question! Mine was good to go, but I think sometimes they need to be left to sit for a while. I think it depends. That’s not helpful, but it’s true. 💃

If the sticker doesn't come off cleanly, get some lighter fluid to take off the "mess" instantly. :) If you do it, let me know how it goes. Packaging counts! I would say that Delizia di Marshmallow is worth the trouble to make the packaging prettier imho.

Bonbon au Lait, after the opening has toned down, smells so much like my beloved Fresh Cream from Philosophy. It lasts longer that Fresh Cream, and the price is great for the product. Have you had a chance to try any of Terry's creations?
I love the smell of honey in real life but as a note in perfume, I don’t care for it.
Hi Nina. Isn't' that just the thing? There are a lot of fragrances that I love in real life, but not in perfumery. As far as honey goes, I've always had a strong aversion to honey as a food, and in scent I find it absolutely intolerable. The sense of smell, like our other senses, is a gift for so many reasons. Oh, I should have included a photo! It's white cake batter that's piped into deep fry oil making a kind of funnel shape. It's usually topped with other sweet things like ice cream and caramel. It's an American thing sold at carnivals. Fun and yummy.
