Just bought one. Picking it up today. I got back in to riding after 20 years. Bought a new trek Marlin thinking a hard tail was perfect. Lol. Maybe if I was still a teenager it would be but my body will appreciate the stumpy off road. The trek is still great for light trails and a little road riding.
What size rear shock did you get? I’m thinking of going 190x51 instead of 190x45. None of the linkages or rear tire comes into contact with a stroke of 51.
Cool upgrades, I’ve done a few to mine too. New fox 34 forks, shimano m6120 brakes, go shifter and derailleur etc.. what size shock did you get to replace the fusion ?
@@THRENO82 Short seat stay makes it a bit more easier to manuever in tight corners. The casacade link increases small bump sensitivity, adds 8mm more travel, but overall makes the rear suspension more progressive.
Really nice gear upgrades! I am thinking of upgrading front forks on my S4 alloy, to RockShox Pike Ultimate Charger 2.1 RC2 29" 150mm, but really confused with the offset. Which one did you get for yours ? I am initially thinking that 51mm will be ok ? Any thoughts or advise ? Many thanks in advance!
It does every thing that cascade claims, but maybe consider also upgrading shock or service it regularly because it will be working a little harder with that link.
@@treetrunksentertainment1 sweet man, Thanks! You should try a DSD Runt also! My current mods on my comp alloy are a DSD runt and a cascade link. Very impressive mods

I put on a Rock shox deluxe ultimate same size that it came with 130mm of travel eye to eye is 190x45
What does the short stay and cascade do? I did deluxe ultimate and a revelation fork and gx cranks and dub.

@@treetrunksentertainment1 what did you do with the shock? Custom tune? Volume tokens? Thx
@@THRENO82 Nothing specific I run it at 30% sag. The link is designed to be compatible w/ OEM size and stroke. I would like to re valve the shock.
Didn't realize Cascade made a link for the regular(non-evo) stumpy. Going to order one now I think.
Just SJ alloy is compatible w/ the Evo. Link.
@@treetrunksentertainment1 That's good to know. Looks like they make a link for both versions now.
Does the bike suck in stock form ????

Go with the offset that is closest to the OEM spec. I got the 44mm. I have a buddy who got the 51mm for his stumpy evo and regrets it.
How’s the cascade feelin on the alloy stumpy? Thinking of doing the same

@@treetrunksentertainment1 I have a super Delux on it ATM 👍 thanks man I'll give this ago hey
Do you think the Float X in 190x45 will fit our bikes? thinking about reserving one
Yes just make sure its not the trunnion mount style.

Why did you shorten the rear to an s4?
To shorten the wheelbase. Some of my local trails have tight switchbacks.
Stamp pedals
