Hi SheNotLost. I really enjoyed the video. I've been teaching dance for over 25 years and I'm always looking for new inspiration. This style of swing appears to have elements of East Coast Swing, Cowboy Swing and even Hustle. But it appears that there isn't any particular footwork pattern. Am I right? It looks like everyone is basically working off elasticity. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks, Jamie
Yes it is closest to Cowboy Swing, and there is some AZ Two Step in there! This style is unique to Arizona, and I hear that when folks go to country bars in other states, nobody dances like this. You're correct, there isn't much footwork pattern in this style, with the exception of two step in some spots. It is a lot of fun!
Thanks for the response. We like vacationing in AZ and have danced in Phoenix once and several times in Tucson. I see you travel a lot. If you're ever in New England, one of the best country dances is at the Longfellow Athletic Club in Wayland, MA (just outside Boston) on Sunday nights. A good mix of Texas 2-Step, West & East Coast Swing, Waltz, Nightclub 2-Step and even a little hustle. Jamie

Love it. I'd love to learn but have no idea where to go. I don't wanna dance with a choreography in mind, just country swing free style. Does anyone know where i can go country swing dancing in or near Richmond, VA. I tried searching in Google, but can't find anything, unless I'm not searching right.

Grew up in Chicago we hardly hear country around hear , I find country dance interesting would be nice if I knew how to dance it. Nice to see you guys dance.
Thanks! I would say just grab a couple friends and learn from You Tube - then you can make your own party :) It makes it a little difficult if there aren't many places playing country songs... but where there's a will, there's a way!
