    Djokovic will secure No.1.
    Hard times for Federer - Nadal tied his record of 20 GS titles, while Djokovic will soon reach Federer's record of 310 weeks as top ranked player and then surpass him in March.
    Both Nadal and Djokivc will win more than 20 GS titles.I am sure of it.

      If Nadal ends the year at # 2 it will be for a record 12th time passing Federer.

      @@TahmidSalehTennisForum You're welcome. Keep up the good work! The pleasure is all ours to have you as an impartial and knowledgeable tennis commentator! For sure Novak will continue to pursue his goals! Many tennis analysts and fans seem to have given up believing that among the three, Novak still is more likely to end up as the Greatest of all time. Just because Nadal won FO as he should, just because he's tied with Roger and 3 Slams ahead of Novak now ... i mean If Novak had won the USO now he would be 2 Slams behind Rafa and Roger ... So we are talking about only one Slam difference ... has Rafa become the most likely because of that? This is nonsense for me ... Djokovic won the AO and just lost a match tenistically speaking, this season so far, he has no reason to be discouraged ... he is 3 slams behind Rafa and Roger and it's not that much ... Some Next Gen are very good, but not that good (if you know what i mean), the h2h with Rafa is favorable to him... he knows who's the better player outside clay... Novak will still be the favorite in all off-clay Slams for 3/4 years ... so, for me, nothing has changed! His ambition and determination remain unchanged, he admits that, unlike the others. “There are people who are upset when I really reveal my ambition, but it educated me to be honest. There are people who like to pretend, but I respect that. I am like that and I clearly say that my goal is to be the best tennis player in history and I am working on it ”. The GOAT Debate 2020 (This is what the stats say so far)
    The Greatest of all Time is the most dominant player of all time. Dominance is not determined by Grand Slam wins alone. Grand Slams are only a small part of the tennis schedule.
    Dominance is determined by win percentage(Career + H2H), weeks at number 1 and Big Titles won.
    Grand Slams (value = 2000): Roger 20, Rafa 20 and Novak 17
    ATP Finals won (value = 1500): Roger 6, Rafa 0, Novak 5
    Masters 1000s won (value = 1000): Roger 28, Rafa 35 and Novak 36
    Olympic golds won (value = 2000 Maybe): Roger 0, Rafa 1 and Novak 0
    All 4 above: Roger 54, Rafa 57 and Novak 58 Career so far
    All 4 above(Adjusted by value): Roger 77, Rafa 77 and Novak 77.5 Career so far
    * Based on these stats they are almost exactly equal in GOATness.
    -----------------
    But lets look at these massive factors too.
    * Grand Slams: everyone
    * Calender Year Grand Slams: none
    * All Grand Slams at the same time: Novak Only
    * This speaks to dominance(at least in Granslam tournaments) in a 52 week period.
    * All Grand Slams Twice: none
    * Career Golden Masters: Novak Only x 2
    * This speaks to consistency and dominance in all locations and conditions. An incredible feat.
    * Weeks at number 1: Roger 310, Novak 292, Rafa 209
    * Roger marginally takes this one. Note that it is alot harder to be number 1 in the world than to win a Grandslam title. It takes aprox. 10000 points to get to number 1, whereas a Grandslam only awards 2000 points. You could win all 4 Grandslams in a year and still only have 8000 points.
    * So based on that, I would give 52 weeks at number 1 = 10000 points, which we can simplify to 10.
    All Titles + weeks at number 1: Roger 136, Rafa 117 and Novak 133
    * This would suggest that Roger is GOAT, the Novak, then Rafa
    * Also note that maintaining number 1 for 52 weeks is very very tough, and so this should be given extra weight. Maybe an extra 2 points for each consecutive year holding number 1? Whatever.
    * Head to Head: Rafa-Roger: 24-16 Roger-Novak: 23-27 Rafa-Novak: 27-29
    * Novak marginally takes this one.
    -----------------
    Grand Slam per year: Roger: 0.91, Rafa: 1.11, Novak: 1.13
    * Win %: Roger: 82%, Rafa: 83.2%, Novak: 83.2%
    Well boys and girls, there it is, the stats show they are pretty even in every way but I'd put Novak ahead on bonus points for the H2H, Career Golden Masters, All slams at the same time and then 2nd weeks at number one.

      Gosh... 👍👍 If u have written all these on your own..
      Agree with you completely!!
      The GOAT race just can't be completed by Most Grand Slams alone
      Weeks as No 1
      Year End No 1s
      World Tour Finals
      Masters 1000( Masters probably 25% less important THAN Grand Slams)

    • @brijmehta9421

      Masters 1000 tournaments in a way were revolutionised from the older editions by the likes of Agassi Federer Safin Roddick and carried forward by the likes of Djokovic Nadal AND Murray!!!
      It just baffles me that Pete Sampras has More Grand Slams(14) than Masters trophies (11) probably because they were pretty much played like Grand Slams back them with Five set semifinals and Finals..
      But over the last couple of Decades Masters 1000 trophies have increased in worth and importance and in no way it can be overlooked while considering the GOAT debate.

    • @waynehendricks1529
      @waynehendricks1529 4 года назад +1

      @@brijmehta9421 Thanks. Well I base the importance of each milestone on its ATP point value(the only completely fair and impartial way to do it so I'm not randomly assigning points based on my sentiment) therefore: Grandslam 2000 points = 2pts. Masters 1000 = 1pt, reaching number 1 is 10000 points = 10pts per 52 weeks. This point system is a pure math / statistical way of looking at their achievements so we can now skip over personal feelings and biases towards or against anyone.
      Additionally, using this an ATP based points system negates arguments about "the difficulty of Masters1000s changing from 3 sets to 2 sets" or "the Federer weak era"(which in order to prove mathematically and assign or detract points we would have to deeply analyze every single player to determine their 'dominance' factor and aint nobody got time for that).
      I think when we can accurately put a value to things like difficulty of opponent or conditions then we can add them into the discussion, but until someone takes the time to analyze those things they should be left out completely.
      After all this is a stats channel so let the numbers do the talking.

      Before 2015 (Nadal worst form ever) the H2H was 23-19 for Nadal. In 2015-2016, the 2 worst years ever for Nadal, he was 0-7 against Djokovic. In 2017, Nadal found his true form and the H2H since that time is now 4-3 for Nadal. The evidence right here that Djokovic improved his H2H in 2015-2016 against the worst Nadal ever.

    Novak has secured the #1, there's no way that he doesn't get to the Quarters in Vienna or win 1 Round Robin match in ATP Finals. Like he said in an interview recently, the YE #1 is in his own hands, not on what Rafa does & where he decides to play.

    Bercy is the most unpredictable tournament with so many surprise winners. For many players like Ferrer, Soderling, Sock, Berdych (Khachanov also with a chance to join the list), it is their only win at Masters 1000 level or above. I feel it's mostly because of the schedule - late in the year when people are fatigued. This year may be a little different with most players well rested. This probably is the best chance for Rafa to win here.
    PS: it's really odd that Sock has as many Masters 1000 titles as Stan, Cilic, Ferrer or Delpo and more than Nishikori or Raonic.

    Brilliant stats video once again Tahmid ! Pretty much agreed with everything you said. YE#1 is guarantedd for Djokovic this year. What i want to see from Djokovic is that if he is also willing and wanting to break the record of most WTF wins after the "disappointments" of this year's USO and RG. It woud be really neat to get both of them (number of wins of YE#1 and WTF) at the same year, but he may also just want to hold back and get well prepared for AO21, so it should be interesting to see. As for Nadal, we all know his history on indoor hard courts, but given the fact that this year neither Djokovic nor Federer are playing in Paris, and that he hasnt played a lot in 2020 and being fresh, this might be his best chance to win Paris for the first time in his career ! WTF is another story, and my honest opinion is that he will never get the win there, but never say never with Nadal, although is highly unlikely ! Great analysis !

As a fan of his, I feel the us open should’ve been a priority. I don’t understand the thinking behind skipping the us open then playing Paris Indoors. New York had hardcore COVID-19 guidelines in place.
    From what I’ve been reading on Twitter it seems Rafa will play both Paris and the ATP championship.

Second, if you see “drop date” for ranking points for Aus Open and Dubai in Djokovic’s rankings breakdown page on ATP site, you will see it is 2022. That means the rankings are frozen. Best chance ever for Nadal to win Paris and the end of year event given his freshness....
    .....as for end of year #1, I think it should be based on the new "elongated" rating system.
    But to qualify for the End of Year special event, I think it should only be on 2020 results. As such, 2019 End of Year results wouldn't be taken away but one has the chance to improve if they actually qualify again in their own right i.e. Medvedev wouldn't likely be playing given his average 2020.

      Nadal most probably skipped USO cause his team speculated that it would be too hard to play two Grand Slams and a clay warm-up in Rome within a span of a month and a half. And they were proven right - just look at what happened with Djokovic and Thiem who were simply too spent towards the end of RG. The icing on the cake was the fact that Nadal didn't lose any points by not defending his USO title.
