I have a Porter Cable Model 334 Part 1, after seeing your video I opened mine and I don’t see a Pulley In mine and it doesn’t seem to be broken off from any where , of course the belt is not there please advise
Hi mr do you have any clue how to fix the Milwaukee cordless sender?the same issue that it's spinning so fast..and the belt is still on it... Love to get help from you..your videos are shorts and awesome. Thanks
I vote for no spin or slight spin. If it is supposed to spin, then it is very poorly engineered. On mine, the tension from the belt has pretty much stripped the hole and elongated it a bit. If it were new, the screw only goes in (in plastic, no less) 1/4" or so- not nearly stout enough to handle the force on it. Also, with the replacement belt, it seems to add a lot of drag to the motor.
@@cwilson2293 I just watched the video again and re-read my own post. I think "fixed pulley" means "fixed pulley". How could I have missed that even mentioning "fixed pulley" in my post. I am 71 and grew up in the 50s and 60s so I blame my brain.
Help. I have this Porter Cable model 382 sander. It is always spinning out of control so I assume the clutch belt needs to be replaced. However, when I remove the 3 screws to remove the pad as shown in the video, I see a different picture. The "fixed pulley" referenced in this video does not exist on this one. What gives?
Your right. The sander in the video is a different model than yours. Your model number is a bit different and part number 151553-00 is the part number for the Dust Seal/Brake. www.ereplacementparts.com/dust-sealbrake-p-69142.htmlA breakdown of your model is: www.ereplacementparts.com/porter-cable-382-type-palm-grip-sander-parts-c-129_1997_157689.htmlIt is part 26 on the diagram. it goes under the sanding pad and fits inside part number 19 Clamshell Shroud.
Thank you for your response. However I clicked on both links and neither page could be loaded. Are you saying that the white seal ring also acts as the brake? Seems odd.....
The seal does act as the break on this sander. www.ereplacementparts.com/dust-sealbrake-p-69142.html

I just broke mine and am glad I found this video. It saved me from having to buy another one. This sander is a beast and has been with me since 2006.
I like how you got right to the point. A lot of how-to videos ramble. Thanks for the info.
Excellent video, can't wait to get it working again, such a great tool to have.

Why does the manual say information in "BELT REPLACEMENT" in the maintenance section of this manual ????
There's nothing there?
Is the fixed pulley supposed to spin around the Phillips screw holding it or should it not turn?
Did you ever find an answer to your question about the fixed pulley? I personally don't think it's suppose to spin considering the way it's mounted.
@@capt835 no. I think it should spin.

I think you adjust the fixed pulley so the part that is not grooved faces the center.
So easy! Thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Very informative ... well done !
